No thanks.. I imagine that yall have air conditioning in most places..Up here, very few homes have air conditioning and a neither do a surprising number of business's either...Its a blast to go out to eat.. its hot in the building, they usually have their windows and doors open, so we get to battle the mosquitoes, flies, bees, beetles and other assorted flying pain in the butt bugs..

That's one reason I love winter, it kills off bugs. I don't know if I could live in a place where the bugs are around all year long.

Its not fun... You get used to it, but it doesn't mean you like it.. In Florida I was used to mosquitoes coming out at dusk and being out all night, but not coming out during the heat of the day unless you were in a swamp or wandered in to bushes where they were hiding from the heat.. Up here, they are out always because during mosquito season we have 24 hours of daylight... I am prepared for those blood suckers.. I have a case of mosquito coils, new bottles of spray, a couple of the Off clip on things(they work btw, I use them while I am waiting at the bus stop) and an Off Power Pad, plus when the temps get to where we can put plants out, I am going to plant some Marigolds, Citronella, Rosemary, Peppermint, Garlic, Lemon Basil, maybe some Lavender, and maybe Catnip, in my container garden on the porch.. Those plants are all known to repel mosquitoes.. I just have to be careful regarding the catnip as I don't want a million cats hanging around my front door.. That plant I might put down on the patio where our grill and patio table are. :nod

I didn't know about plants repelling mosquitoes, going to have to plant some of them in the backyard. I hate the little buggers! Also need to pick up some catnip seeds, been meaning to grow some for the cats the last two years and always forget.

you can brew a tea with the leaves, strain the tea, put it in a spray bottle and use it as a mosquito repellant... You will be popular with cats, but you won't have a mosquito on you..

Seriously, I watched a TV show about it

I'm sure you don't think so, but lucky you. I'd love another spring snow. Been in the 70s and 80s here.

Not sure I'm going to try that catnip spray. I think a couple mosquito bites would be better than a double cat attack. My cats love the stuff. :)

Ever heard of Cosmic Catnip??? Its the Maui Wowie of Catnip.. I would get it for my cats and have to lock it up in the China Cabinet.. It was so strong, the cats could smell in through the plastic container and would try to chew a hole through it to get at the catnip..Its more powerful than fresh catnip..

Not sure if I have seen that or not, but I've had cats get into the cabinets to find the stash before. I keep it in the freezer now, or an air-tight container. But the cats I have now don't go as crazy over the stuff like some of my other cats. I think the male cats I had were the worst ones at going crazy.

thankfully both of my china cabinets, as well as my secretary desk locked with keys, so I could keep the cats out of them.. but god knows they would sit there and look at the container in the cabinet..

Personally I don't think it made a difference which sex the cat was.. I only had one that had no interest in catnip at all, the rest of them all went nuts. I guess the one who turned his nose up must have been someone reincarnated from the Nancy Reagan "just say no" era :D

Still haven't picked up any seeds yet. Hopefully I can get some started this weekend. Going to be in the 80s all three days.

I am so upset.. Mark fucked up the computer bigtime.. I don't know what he was doing, but something happened to Firefox and it wanted a system restore.. he lost patience with it and killed it in the middle of the restore.. so he locked up out of firefox.. He got it back, but ALL of my favorites are gone.. I absolutely want to kill him cause he lost information I can not find.. I tend to email a favorites list to myself, but I didn't list everything.. I even tried a system restore, but because he downloaded a new version of firefox, all the favorites are gone gone gone.. I am soooooooo fucked.. On top of that..I figured I would get on the laptop and get the list from it.. He was the one using the laptop.. I can't even get it to boot up... Maybe I should hook my computer up on the table and see what I can find on it... He really has no idea how badly he has screwed me up. All the sites I have to have to do job searchs were in my favorites.. Now I have to pray I remember all the passwords cause several of them were generated specifically by the website.

I write all my passwords down on paper. Not the whole thing, but enough to remember, just in case someone finds my list. Most places give you a way to reset your password, that is if you can remember what site you are looking for. Hope you end up finding most if not all the links you need. That and I hope Mark is still in the living. ;)

I have not killed him... YET.. I am leaving that option open.. I have reloaded everything I can think of right now.. I am sure there is things I am going to go looking for and play hell trying to find.. Ironically.. all my pictures are still here.. he just managed to fuck up the favorites list.

My favorites gets so overloaded sometimes, losing them all might be a good thing. I try and go through them every so often and delete all the ones where the link no longer works. So many sites now are always redoing things that the links end up getting broken.

Had a lazy weekend. Temps were up in the mid 80s so it was too hot to do much.
