That sucks how soon you get winter up there. Going to be 70 here tomorrow, mid 60s today. Don't see anything until next Tue we might get a little rain and temps in the 40s. I think your storm is going to miss me. |

we got about 5" of snow the other day. The current forecast is calling for a lot more snow today, switching to rain during the night then getting windy and more snow coming down.. Its going to be nasty the next couple of days. |

Brrrrr.. Sounds cold. Would not want to be driving in that, snow/rain/snow. That has to make one big ice rink. |

its a fucking mess here today.. It snowed then rained all night long, we had major wind gusts that blew down trees and branches on to power lines, we lost power just after midnight and didn't get it back on until about 20 minutes ago.. Now its snowing like a mo-fo and we are expected to get more rain.. |

I'm thinking they should close Alaska for the winter. Another beautiful day here, 70s this afternoon. |

There are still thousands without power here and the temps are dropping like a stone.. its supposed to be in the -20's or 30's by Tuesday night. I just read where the mayor here is going to declare a state of emergency here to get state aid to help people get power back on and to get repairs to their homes for damage from the storm and for repairs that are going to happen because of unheated homes. |

I hope everyone up there has wood burning stoves. Must be hard to survive those temps with no power. |

I know some people do, but not everyone.. A lot of people use oil to heat their places up. At last count, there was under 1000 places that don't have power yet, and we have another storm blowing in that is supposed to bring 40 mph winds in the hills... pretty much where the lines are still down. All things considered.. I would rather have this weather, than what happened in the midwest on Sunday. Edited by Marcia, Nov 20 2013, 09:59 PM.

Yeah, me too. Had a blast of cold hit here yesterday and is going to stay through the weekend. Been snowing off and on, just enough to make the roads slick. That and I almost died coming home from the cold. It's fricken 25 degrees out there!

Going from -30 to 9 must feel like short sleeve weather. Snowed off an on here yesterday, but it was melting almost as fast as it fell. Supposed to start warming up into next week before another front hits. Should be a nice Thanksgiving. Bought a turkey but I might save it for Christmas, not sure if I'll do anything for Thanksgiving. You have any big plans? |

as far as I know, its just going to be Mark and myself. We got a turkey yesterday and I am planning on making dressing, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and probably corn for Mark. He is going to bake a pie on Wednesday night, he just hasn't decided whether is will be pumpkin, pecan or apple. |
