what kind of bird is that??

I never had any problems with birds going getting aggressive with me.. they seemed to know I wasn't going to hurt them. I used to feed a flock of geese when I lived near Okeeheelee Park in West Palm.. I would sit in a meadow and they would come gather around me to eat.. one would even come sit next to me or get in my lap just to be petted.. a newspaper photographer saw it and took a picture of me surrounded by 50 geese in this meadow.. It amazed the park rangers cause no one else could get near them without them trying to attack.. Sadly that is what got the geese removed from the park.. there was a gosling some kid tried to grab.. the geese went after the kid, the kids mom went to grab him, slipped and broke her tailbone. She filed a lawsuit against the city claiming they were dangerous, so the city removed them. Broke my heart to see that happen.

They are called grackles. They are pretty, but they are onery. They are the ones that always sit in my feeder dumping the sedd on the ground looking for that one seed they want. They hate it when my cats are out, but none of them have been dumb enough to dive bomb one of the cats.

So what did they do, kill all the geese?

I was told they were being removed to a farm where they would live without people being around them.. I can only hope they were telling me the truth.

hmmm.. I just googled crackles and saw where they live, so that rules you out as being Wolf, Krumm, Sal, Elfie or Bikey, cause crackles don't live on the West Coast...

but.......

it doesn't rule Kathy out, cause they do live in the Northeast...

I was C.K. before I became a C.B. ...lol

I don't know if they are gone from Ohio altogether but they aren't the huge numbers in my neighborhood they once were. Can't remember the last time I saw one.

They nest every spring in the trees behind my house, so I see them quite often.
They don't even like it when I'm in the yard, when the cats are out it's nonstop squawking.
