its a frightening thought.. they could be the nurses, doctors, therapists who take care of us in our old age.. Or the teachers who teach our grandchildren.... or the ministers who preach morals/God to our grandchildren..

It has been hot and dry here, but last night the clouds opened up.
Hail and hard rain for hours. They say maybe the same tonight. :)
I love the stuff, as long as I'm not out driving in it.
This was one of the roads in town.

I've seen some roads get flooded in storms, but nothing like that one. I drive right by that street every day. Hopefully I get home tonight before it starts up again.

I have seen roads flood(to the point where you can see only a bit of the car antenna) in both West Palm and Miami after a heavy rainstorm.. That, sadly, is due to the fact that developers have paved over every blade of grass and the rain water no longer has any ground to soak up the water, or ditches to collect the run off.. Hell, my house flooded in 1999's Hurricane Irene.. I didn't live in a flood zone, in fact I had canals on three sides of my neighborhood and a small lake half a block away.. it rained so much during the storm, all the canals/lake overflowed and I had water coming in the back of my house by midnight... thankfully the rain stopped, but the streets were 'dive off a car in to the water' deep and we were trapped in my neighborhood for 2 days till the water receded. Thank god I am a crafter and had a bunch of Styrofoam blocks that I could use to get my furniture up off the floor.. so it was protected.. can't say the same about the carpet.. it was a total loss.

That doesn't sound like it was any fun.
I agree about the paving over everything. That wasn't even that bad of a storm and the streets here were rivers.
Yesterdays storm missed us and hit out east. Should have know it would miss us, the way the weather guys were predicting doom all day long.

it got black and nasty looking here yesterday and we thought for sure that it was going to rain, but alas.. it didn't.. It sucked too cause the temps were in the high 70's and didn't cool down. I had all the windows in the house open and 6 fans going but it was still hot in the apartment. This hot, this soon means summer is going to be unpleasant this year..

Yeah, I think it is going to be a very hot summer. Been in the 90s the last couple days, even set a couple records. Never did get our spring rains, besides the one day we had this week.
Working this morning, but I think I'm going to try and set the pool up later today or tomorrow.

We were going to have a get together of the family today and bbq, to celebrate Marks 33rd birthday, (which was on Thursday) and our kinda anniversary (6 years ago today I flew up here to meet Mark), but he got called at 6 am to go to work to cover for someone who didn't show up, so we had to postpone the party till next weekend. Its probably a good thing since its in the 50's here right now, overcast and looking like its going to rain any minute. At least the house is nice and cool(boarding on downright chilly)

Well that sucks.
And happy Bday/anniversary to you two.

50s would feel chilly, it's 90 here today. Trying to work up the energy to go outside and get something done, but it's so nice in here in front of the fan. :)
