just wanted to make sure.. there are lots of places/people who thought they were safe and lost entire neighborhoods to fire..not to mention a couple of fire crews who got caught and died. (one of the reasons I am happy Mark decided to get a different job)

Yeah, I have to say that if I had lived where some of those houses burned, I would have thought I was somewhat safe. That fire just came roaring down the hill and out onto the flat parts.
Scary stuff.

I remember the Oakland Hills fire in California where there was a fire storm that roared through the community and burned thousands of houses down.. Also Slave Lake, that town in Canada that burned to the ground last year..

I have a healthy fear of fires.. When I was 19, I was at a bf's house when one of the oil tanks from a nearby packing house exploded.. everyone in the neighborhood went outside to check things out, and ended up listening to the screams of the 3 kids and the howls of the dog that were trapped inside the inferno.. I will never be able to erase the memory of those screams and that dog howling.. it will haunt me till my dying day.. (mommy was fooling around with someone in the living room of the apartment above the packing house.. She survived.. he, unlike those poor kids, got lucky... he died quickly, he tried to escape and fell 3 stories to his death)

Fire has to be one of the worst ways to die.
Let me die in my sleep, please.
Or while having sex. I'm 50/50 on that choice. ;)

Fire has been pretty quiet the last couple of days. Hopefully it stays that way.

We should play up on that and watch Chamadingaling freak out and lose it... She will be running around all over the boards babbling like chicken little and make her sky fall... ***giggle***

I did some searching on him when he supposedly died, and I couldn't find any stories about that accident. There is a couple listings of that name in the online phone directory. I never got into that drama too much, didn't really read much of him, or I might have made a bigger stink at the time. ;)

And yes, yes I am John Bloodgood. But my friends just call me Blood. :)

Actually I didn't get in to it at all.. I just remember her going from forum to forum, beating on her chest and whining about him doing her wrong.. Personally, from how she has acted, he was probably driven to doing any and everything he supposedly did to her.. **shrug** I don't really know, and I don't really care.. I just like watching her become a babbbling loon when she gets wound up the right way..

I never really see her. Maybe she is banned from any of the places I've read.
Now geno, that nut case needs to be locked up.

Another scorcher here today. But it looks like most of the Country is having the same.

I am thankful that it hasn't gotten that hot up here.. With most places not having air conditioning, it would be miserable.. It was crappy last Saturday and almost anyplace that sold fans were sold out. Thank God I have 6 of them already.. plus two ceiling fans..

Fans help, but when it doesn't cool off at night all they do is push hot air around. That's when squirt bottles come in handy. :)

I have a fan at the foot of the bed that blows so hard, it blows the covers up over us if we don't anchor them down, but on those uber hot nights, like last night, I put a wash cloth in water with ice in it, then take the damp cloth and run it down Mark's spine.. That tends to cool one off pretty fast

I don't know about that.
It could lead to things that make the room even hotter. ;)
