Greetings, Western Atlantic! I am an experienced RP'er returning to NationStates after considerable period of absence. My time spent in the roleplaying forums eventually brought your region to my attention, and I decided that you seem like a very fun and competent crowd of roleplayers. I would like to be a member of your ranks, if you would have me. Some links for you: A war RP from my time in Tarquinia A more character-focused RP with the same players. I was also active over at the website Statesmanship for some time, until my contribution there eventually trailed off. I have one or two RPs over there that you might peruse if you are looking for more references. I don't have an wiki page yet, but I'm holding off on making one until I have a better feel of where my nation will be geo-politically. In the meantime, I will say that I am thinking of having a nation that is socially and culturally somewhat akin to 1900's Tsarist Russia; an absolute monarchy struggling with substantial internal pressures from a highly factionalized society. The finer details, of course, remain to be seen. This all said, I await your judgement |

Heya! This sounds like a fun concept, and the roleplays you linked are excellent too! I'm hoping a few more folks will comment, and that we can then let you in. |

The Abt Republic is a Russian (local variant) speaking nation in the Western Atlantic, founded by republican-oriented denizens of NationState's currently largest (until I get tangible proof of contrary) Russian speaking nation, the Taraskovyan Empire. Personally, I used this as a plot device to have a Post Modern Tech nation (Abt) in addition to my silly overpowered Sci-Fi Future Tech nation (Taraskovya). As such, I am keen on learning more of what you have in mind, especially if it is a Russian-speaking and majority Orthodox nation. Edited by Abt, Oct 26 2011, 06:53 PM.

I usually RP Balthorvia as being Slavic, leaning towards Serbian with some Hungarian elements also included. Orthodoxy is the state religion, firmly institutionalized under the control of the royal crown (which not everyone in the church is pleased about - more internal conflict!). If there are already Slavic nations such as yourself in Western Atlantic, it behooves us to cooperate on history and the like. Maybe Balthorvia descends from the same mother state as Abt? If your nation has republican leanings, then it would make sense for our two nations to have butted heads repeatedly in the past; the monarchs of Balthorvia would probably style themselves as the rightful rulers of all "Slavs/Balthorvians". |

Oh, no no, Abt is a very young Republic and was founded only recently It was born after a band of Taraskovyan mercenaries were rewarded with land by the Danaans/Caldans and settled there. Their independence was recognised by the Taraskovyan Empire, which unofficially uses Abt as a destination point for Taraskovyan republicans. Not by exiling them, but by saying, like, "See? Nice republic! You can go there!" However, whilst the Taraskovyan Empire is not part of the region, it does interact extensively in economic, political and cultural matters with several WA states. And you can count on the Taraskovyan Empire to be rather skeptical about the claims of smaller countries to rule "all Slavs"

If you want my opinion, and everyone is entitled to my opinion after all, then this looks marvellous and very impressive, speaking as an ancient RPer reborn myself.
