Committee: Global Security 1A Subject: Religious and Ethnic Conflict Proposed by: Iraq 01) THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, 02) Aware of the mal effects of war and conflict that have struck the people 03) living in those nations in the religious and ethnic ongoing Israeli- 04) Palestinian war, 05) Bearing in mind primary causes of this conflict; The cause of conflict 06) regarding land rights and security deals mainly with the welfare of the 07) religions and their followers, 08) Guided by the need for peace and coexistence, 09) Cognizant of the reality that the conflict that has existed for centuries will 10) be difficult to solve and that persistence is required if anything is to be 11) achieved, 12) Expressing in dissatisfaction of the previous efforts of the international 13) community in attempting to resolve this conflict, 14) Taking Into Account the previous attempts by the United Nations to 15) resolve this problem such as the separation of the nation in 1947, 16) threats, economic embargo, and other aggressive tactics, 17) Believing that the international community must unite tackle this 18) problem; Without combined efforts, this conflict cannot be solved, 19) Affirming the dire need for peace in the Middle East regarding the 20) Palestinian Conflict, 21) 1.Calls upon Member States, General Assembly as well as current Security 22) Council representatives to unite and confront this problem collectively; 23) the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1515 needs to be carried 24) out and we cannot wait for further damage in the region; 25) 2.Further recommends the international community to realize the 26) importance of the widely-acclaimed "Two-State Solution" envisioning two 27) separate states in the region of the Palestine; 28) 3.Regrets effective efforts have not already been carried out to prevent 29) damage that was not necessary; 30) 4.Expresses its hope that the Two-State system will work and that all 31) parties will have peace. Approved Quick and to the point, good job, however, check some of the grammer in the preambulatory clause. |
