Committee: Health and Human Services (5C) Subject: World Hunger Proposed by: Iraq 1) THE GENERAL ASSEBLY, 2) Aware that world hunger is prominent all over the world 3) and affects a wide range of people, 4) Emphasizing that a main factor behind the problem of 5) world hunger is the condition of life the affected live in, 6) Noting further that poverty may be the result of 7) unstable, or ignorant government 8) structures, 9) Understanding that it is no easy task to help 10) those affected by powerless governments, 11) but feels like this is no excuse to ignore those in need, 12) Deeply concerned that those most vulnerable to hunger 13) also include those who are internally displaced due to various 14) factors such as poverty, or war, 15) Notes with regret that there are those who live on less 16) than a $1.25 a day, 17) Keeping mind that the United Nations has tried to eradicate 18) this problem but that there can always be more done to further 19) the process; 20) 1. Recommends that the United Nations continue the World Food 21) Programme, and that more countries are brought in to help 22) fund and financially back up the WFP in getting resources 23) to more places in need of food; 24) 2. Urges countries with more stable forms of government and economy, 25) to lend their resources to the United Nations to help resolve 26) the problem of World Hunger; 28) 3. Calls for the creation of programs within countries, 28) with large portions of displaced, and impoverished 29) citizens, to help create a program that encourages them 30) to stay home by providing monetary aid, as well as 31) food, to keep them in a stable state. With this, people would 32) thrive in a more stable condition- encouraging these people 33) to stay at home would help keep them out of poverty. 34) 4. Expresses its hope that one day, the United Nations can 35) rally in enough support to provide legitimate support 36) to a much larger portion of the world affected by 37) world hunger. APPROVED Nice job. I think maybe the solution from lines 28-31 could be better explained. I'm not sure what "staying home" would really solve. Just change that bit, and you'll be good. P.S. Tajwar satisfied! (Sorry, I couldn't resist). |
