Committee: Health and Human Services (5C)
Subject: Clean Water Scaricty
Proposed by: Iraq
1) THE GENERAL ASSEBLY,
2) Aware that many third world countries
3) do not have access to a clean source of water,

4) Emphasizing that the 2 main factors of clean water
5) scarcity are the access to water, and the quality of water,

6) Noting further that a lack of clean water may be the result of
7) an impoverished state of the citizens in their
8) respected countries, due to a lack of government structure,

9) Understanding that a lack of clean water can lead to
10) many other problems; a big one being the failure of crops
11) to grow, which leads to malnutrition,

12) Deeply concerned that those most affected by this
13) problem do not have the sufficient
14) information to sanitize, and conserve clean water,

15) Notes with regret that about 1/3 of the world population
16) has a lack of access to clean water everyday,

17) Keeping mind that the United Nations has tried to eradicate
18) this problem but that there can always be more done to further
19) the process;

20) 1. Recommends that the United Nations create a network
21) of water ways to help distribute clean water
22) throughout regions that are in most need of it;

23) 2. Expresses its hope that countries who are
24) stable and wealthy, can lend a helping hand to
25) the United Nations in getting water to paces who
26) in need of it, as well as assist in sending
27) people in to educate in sanitation techniques;

28) 3. Calls for the individual countries to create
29) programs to help educate its people in conservation of
30) what little water they have, in order to make the water they
31) obtain last longer;

32) 4. Further Requests that the United Nations
33) attempts to rally more nations into giving any form
34) of aid in order to help distribute clean water
35) to all those who need it.
