Subject: Water Scarcity Proposed by: Davis Wang 1)Dear General Assembly, 2)Fully aware the seriousness of water scarcity, 3)Having heard water scarcity affects an alarming one in three people around the world, 4)Deeply disturbed water scarcity even occurs in areas where there is frequent rainfall and lots of water, 5)Alarmed by the over consumption of people all over the world, 6)Taking into account the numerous diseases that are water borne, such as serious diarrhea and cholera, 7)Reaffirming that all humans need water to survive, 8)Desiring a better world for all, which is one reason the millennium goals were established, 9)Nothing with deep concern the potential consequences of not having water such as death and the extinction of all life on this 10)planet as well know, 11)Realizing all the lives and potential that will be lost if such a thing was allowed to get worse and worse, 12)Urges that time and effort be focused on solving this huge problem in our world that will effect everyone through 13)research and education of people around the world about the urgency of this approaching poison; 14)Noting further that this will only be start of the fight against water scarcity and that such a problem should not be 15)allowed to grow and become even bigger, 16)Endorses countries already making changes into their infrastructure and also to their consumption of water in order 17)to help fight against over use of water and therefore take an early stand against it; 18)Invites other nations to join and change how they use water and focus on saving our already dwindling supply of 19)fresh clean water that we have in this world; 20)Further deploying that this is not something that one lone nation can fight against and that all nations must contribute 21)in their own way like how the Brazilians help spread water around the world to countries that need it through the virtual water 22)program, 23)Calls for more action like this to be taken and also for educated engineers and mechanics to help fix and maintain, 24)some sanitary stations and water renewing stations that don't have the proper expertise to maintain and fix; 25)Draws attention to third world and developing countries that need more help with their water management 26)and also with their sanitation station management; 27)Reminds that in the millennium goals the UN shall reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe 28)drinking water and along with all the other goals are all related to water such as diseases through water and how poverty and 29)water are directly proportional, 30)Expresses its appreciation to those nations that are already working on this problem that the whole world faces; 31)Expresses its hope that the fight will be successful and that we can stop water scarcity in its tracks; 32)Welcoming all different type of help from educating and researching to actually helping with providing water, 33)Confident that people will learn to value water more and then work to stop water scarcity. |
