1) Having observed the rise of global temperatures
2) caused by a century of rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere,
3) Primarily caused by the burning of fossil fuels,
4) and the slow decline worldwide of forests and wildlife which
5) reduce the effects of global warming,

6) Realizing the negative long term effects of global warming,
7) such as the melting of the polar ice caps, which in turn contribute
8) to rising sea levels around the world,
9) which also will cause a slow decline of coastal land if the pattern continues;

10) Recognizing that the entire world is essentially dependent on
11) fossil fuels for energy and transportation,
12) meaning that enacting policy to reduce global emissions of greenhouse gasses will be difficult
13) with so many nations, developed and developing alike, dependent on fossil fuels,

14) Cognizant of the fact that renewable energy has not become
15) an appealing or worthwhile alternative to fossil fuels, which are
16) readily available to all nations, and much less expensive and universal
17) than technology like solar, wind, electric, or nuclear power,

18) Encourages the UN to provide subsidies for development of
19) Renewable resources such as
20) electric, solar, wind and nuclear power,

21) Strongly urges the passage of legislation designed to tamp down
22) on carbon emissions, either by
23) proposing stricter carbon limits in refined and processed oil,
24) consumption sanctions,
25) or increased preservation of existing forests and greenery worldwide.
