Just went to see Blade Trinity the other day...and I must say I was kind of disappointed. I really can't believe they are going to let the Blade movies go out like that, especially with the excellent Blade 1 and the even better Blade II. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't Matrix Revolutions bad...it just, sadly, wasn't nearly as good as Blade 2 or 1... One of my major gripes with is was the sub-par fighting scenes. Compared to part 1, and especially part 2, these really just sucked ass. They were overly edited, and way too wildly cut, and on top of it there didn't seem to be any real choreography to them at all. Seemed like everyone was just using bullshit street moves rather than any real form of martial arts. The action was really too quick too...every action scene had those same bullshit cuts and ugly editing that made it so you couldn't really tell what the fuck was going on. What was the point of the ultra-cool chain knife? You go to see it all of about 30 seconds...and most of the time his motion with it was super-cut as well. Then the story....I don't know....I just don't know...(and I'll leave it at that) A few cool and odd things: 1. What was up with the dogs being reaper-like, same with Drake? 2. It was cool to see the blade boomerang make another appearance...and just like the last two movies...he used it exactly *once*. 3. I really liked that they brought back something that *everyone* who has watched Blade 1 with me asks about: The throat rip. In part one, at the end, Blade goes around and rips out vampires' throats and it ashes them(in fact, he rips the throat out and hits another guy with it). He does it again here, though it seems a lot bloodier(before the vamp drops to ash). 4. Jessica Biel's "Crow" walk in the subway. 5. King's constant jokes...most were really great. All in all...my final comments on Blade Trinity would be: At least we have Blade II...and they can never take that away from us. Bel |
