All the N64 Expansion pack seems to do is slow the games down even moreso than the N64 hardware already does(as hard as that is to believe). Every N64 game I played that utilized it, turning on the extra features it enabled resulted in an even lower framerate. Sad too, some of the games actually had some decent textures when that thing was plugged in(not the overly blurry crap that usually fills the screen on pretty much any given N64 title).

Bought: Tramplone Terror Ex-Mutants, and it doesn't fuckin' work. I cleaned the hell out of it, I get the TMSS screen, but the Genesis never comes up. I actually like Ex-mutants because it has some amiga charm, and reminds me of the old PC platformers. Ah well. |

Well, the original Rampage and World Tour are both included as bonuses (no unlocking needed). There are lots of new monsters in this one that are unlockable, but really, I think the game would have been better if they dropped that down a bit and given more variety to each of the individual monsters. It's tough to improve on the classics anyway, and Ralph is still the coolest monster in the game. |

Well, again, I've yet to ever see a cart actually fail...so I'd assume either the contacts on it are rusted(I've had two carts that were like that, had to scrub'em extra hard to get that shit off) or the Genesis cart slot has some stuff down in it. Pop the cover of your Genesis at some point, you'd be amazed at all the shit you'll find down in the cart slot... ;) As for Ex-Mutants, I really dig it...but man it's tough... Bel |

$20 for an RF switch to play fuzzy games on a bigger screen, or $150 to play games on a clear and sharp screen that you have to sit 2 ft away from. I think you should spend $800 on a digital projector and then point the thing at a white wall somewhere in the room. Or yank a sheet off of the bed and duct tape it to the wall. Now that's ghettotainment. |

Ex-mutants was bust. The store I bought it from is a bit shady, so it'd be a hassle returning them, but I've gotten some great deals. Can't win 'em all. Got these Genesis carts: Alien Storm Mercs Dynamite Headdy Mega Turrican Forgotten Worlds 27 more Genesis games to go. |

That's the one. It's damn hard...like the arcade version...but is generally considered to be a decent port. Bel |

Got these Genesis carts: Alien Storm - I love AS...but fuck is it hard towards the end. I've made it to the last guy once, but can never beat him without the GG(If I just had one more damn continue, I could do it). Mercs - Great game...hard though. Dynamite Headdy - More treasure quality. Mega Turrican - Fucking awesome...but then, what would you expect from Factor 5? Forgotten Worlds - Though I hear a few stages got cut in the conversion, it still rocks to no end. Great example of early-Genesis goodness. 27 more Genesis games to go. - Yeah, I don't know about this figure. I mean, how many Genesis games do you have now? Bel |

Two small scores from this weekend: PSX: Omega Boost - $3.98, complete. Though the game looks pretty good, I picked it up because it was the game that Bleem was showing off, via Bleemcast!, on the DC at a past E3. I'm *hoping* that means it runs really, really well...and that the Bleemcast! beta will do so as well. PC: Rune: Gold - $4.98, everything but the box). Had no idea the "expansion" Hall of Vahalla was a multiplayer-only game. Had I own known that, I'd have been content with just finding regular ol'Rune. Ah well, it was still a good price. Anyone else play this? I used to have it on the Mac, and loved it. Bel |
