And I'm saying it's not really a lot of filler, unless you're only looking for AAA titles like Jet Set Radio or Skies of Arcadia. If you're willing to look at A (great but not perfect) and maybe a few B titles (still good games, but rough around the edges and often with noticeable flaws), you can still have a great collection without even touching the Cs (let alone the Ds or Fs). Looking over my Dreamcast checklist, I counted over 100 NON-SPORTS games that I would consider to be B titles or better. Add the single best title from each sport (and who wouldn't consider Tennis 2K2 an AAA title anyway?) and there's another five. There are about 70 games I haven't played so I did not make a decision on those (Deep Fighter, Fur Fighters, Rush 2049, etc), but I'm sure that a number of them are at least B quality. So David's goal of 85 more DC games (115 total) is not unreasonable, especially if some of the games currently in his collection are C titles or below. PS - just out of curiosity what are those 13 N64 games you own? And do they have any relation to the 13 ghosts of scooby doo? |

N64 - Destruction Derby 64 * Golden Eye 007 Perfect Dark Rayman 2 * Resident Evil 2 * Rogue Squadron San Francisco Rush Star Fox 64 Star Wars Shadows of the Empire The World is Not Enough 007 Top Gear Rally* Turok Virtual Prowrestling 64 Virtual Prowrestling 2 WCW/nWo Revenge WCW/nWo World Tour WWF Wrestlemania 2000 misc- Gameshark N64 *this game is represented (well) on other systems and is excluded from the magic 13 I just use the 64 as a wrestling and shooting machine mostly. But it earns its keep ;) You mentioned Blast Corp. I liked it as a rental but budy screaming "ARE YOU UNAWARE OR SOMETHING?" was too traumatic. That's like work man! |

Slave Zero rocks?? I can read reviews and see screenshots. Normally I might go running for a shitgame just to prove I could finish it. But since I beat Virus It is Aware, I don't need to that for the rest of year ;) |

If you want a fun run and gun, it's a great game. Nothing I'd pay $50 for, but for $10 or so, it's great. If you want mindless action, you could do much worse. However, the PC version was hyped back in the day (1998-1999) because of it's promising 32-player multiplayer, however that many players supported was not in the final product, nor supported in a later patch. |

Well, *I* wasn't bashing it. But 90% of the used DC games where loose or all scratched up. Atleast that's what it was like at my EB, plus most of the games where the crappy Acclaim leftovers. |

Scratches I can understand - but the games come in cases - not cardboard boxes like the N64. How do you end up with a game but no case??? |

Believe it or not, a lot of GameStop's and EB's that still have DC games have them in generic jewel or weird-ass plastic cases(no manual, no insert).
:( Usually, unless it's just A) Really cheap or
B) Really rare I won't bother with those. The same can be said of PSX games...the same weird plastic cases, or games in just plain jewel cases. Makes me sad...how do they go about losing that stuff? Bel |

I've got it on the DC, unopened even, and did so because I liked the demo...I wonder though, would it be better on the PC with the keyboard/mouse layout? I would think so...but it's not a constant...which I am learning by playing The Suffering on the PC with that layout. I think it's the lack of auto-aim that is killing it for me on the PC. Those fucking enemies just move way too fast, I usually run out of ammo, which I *never* did on the Xbox version. Thank God I haven't sold it yet... Bel |

Metal Jacket for PS1 and Blazing Tornado for Saturn. I was curious and could there be bad Fire Pro Wrestling? :) Nah... All cheap too. I almost got Super Mag Neo but it was the import version. Would that be a problem Ben? Metal Jacket was coming over here at one time but I don't think EA printed it off. I've seen small jpegs of the covers tho' http://www.rottentomatoes.com/g/playstatio...et/overview.php Based on the cheat codes it is a blaster, not a blast and buy like Armored Core or Extreme Power. I hope it is more balanced than Mech Warrior 2. Since it is a 1995 game I predict some level of fog... Enuff shopping for me. edit-super mag neo or nyu nyu I read the review at Planet Dreamcast. It looks amazing but the gameplay and difficulty are probably too much for me. I'm a lightly skilled gamer ;-) |

A feature on BAD import games. Cool. http://www.digitpress.com/index.htm *Did YOU know? column* I feel the inclusion of Deep Fear is unfair but the guy has me really scared about what Metal Jacket will bring. I'm just not picking those imports like I used to. Hopefully this will turn around when Rally de Africa and Side by Side Special show up from UK trader pal. Man what to do with lousy imports? Maybe the EB guys would want Hi-Octane and Starfighter 3000 for chuckles? |

Alright, time for Bel's wholly underwhelming shopping spree... Went out looking for SNES stuff...could only find PSX stuff... First stop: Blockbuster(Game Rush): Legend of Dragoon - $6.99, but minus $1.75 due to a sale. Complete except for the manual...which is ok, as I have Henry LaPierre's walkthrough in an issue of EGM 2. :) Only ever played the demo...but liked it. Blaster Master: Blasting Again - $2.99, minus $0.75. Complete. Never played this one, but it was just so cheap...have to, at least, try it out... WipeOut XL - $2.99, minus $0.75. Disc only. Used to have this game a long, long time ago...but when trying to peel off the rental sticker(bought it used from BB) I *cracked* the disc. I about cried... Next stop - GameStop PowerBoat Racing - $2.99, complete. Had a demo disc of this a long while back on the PC, really liked it...but like most older 3D games on a more recent PC, it just ran *WAY* too fast, and the control just sucked ass with the SideWinder. Looks alright on the PSX...and I'd trade off graphics for control anyday. SideWinder - $0.99. The old school model. I mostly bought this A) because it was so cheap and B) it'll help in my quest to get 4 controllers for the PC, so I can finally live my dream and get together three other people so we can play through TMNT 1 and 2 via Mame and the PC hooked up to the TV. All of that was barely $15... Bel |

...and of course, the only one I've *ever* seen with the damn manual(I don't think it ever came with a box) is butt-filthy... http://cgi.ebay.com/SUPER-MARIO-ALL-STARS-...1QQcmdZViewItem {sigh} Bel |

WipeOut XL sounds fun. Does it support the analog controller? Second hand game shopping is so cool :) I wanna go now!!! *heads to the PS1 to ease the tremors* |

I can't remember if it supports analog or not. Even if it doesn't, the control via digital isn't bad at all. Bel |

I bought a copy of the Adventures of Batman and Robin for the Sega Genesis a week ago, and it was a dead cart. I've spent 20 qtips cleaning it, and while it's the cleanest cart in the world, it's dead. :( |

Hmmmmmm, here's my thing on dead carts: It's hard to actually kill one. I thought I ran into two a long while back...cleaned them, everything, could not get them to work. Looked at them real hard under a light...they contacts had *rust* on them. Once I got that off, they worked. I'm guessing you just have something like that on the contacts. Thing is, with stuff like that, even if you get it off enough to play the game...do you really want to take the risk of putting that back into your Genesis, and possibly getting rust in there? I will say though: B&R is bad-ass(but only if you have a Game Genie). :) Bel |
