I've been going through a lot of the games I bought over the past year, sorting out what's pretty good and what will be traded off. I think I may start a small trading/selling section for the forum at the end of the month. That way we can post our lists of stuff we'd like to trade and just leave them up for others to look at, we can add to them, etc. My stash of trade-able stuff will be posted at the end of the month...(and I'll even ship to Canada, if you see anything you'd like) ;)

A trading post sounds like a fun idea. It will give me an excuse to sort thru my
games and then get new ones : -)

Yeah, I think it'll be pretty nice. Virtually every other forum I visit has one, and I think we could do with one as well. Will be nice to just have each member's continuing list of trades and/or "for sales" up for browsing. As pretty much everyone on the forum is trustworthy, it'll also be a safe way to get some new stuff. :)

Sad news- Rayman 2 and Blue Stinger had to be returned. Coasters...
Weep with me.

They did give me credit towards- : -)
Wipeout PSX- for study against my Saturn version
TOCA Racing- no good reason other than it was a Codemasters racer
and not a F1 game.
Soul Fighter Dreamcast- an odd pick. It gets roasted in reviews but it
is the "sequel" to Legend for PSX. Heck, why not...
An Axeon third party PSX mouse in sealed plastic box with docs and
a mouse pad from the 50% off bin. Like how often are you going to see that?

Well, they say BS is nothing to cry over...but I would have liked to of hear about R2.

Saturn version has a lower framerate, but in turn moves faster, lacks transparency(the shield powerup thing show this off especially) and is missing a few pieces from the PSX's soundtrack(but, has a couple new ones to replace them). All in all, both versions rock.

CodeMasters has always been a quality company, and I hear Toca(Xbox, right?) is fucking excellent.

Hmmmm, Legend on the PSX? I wonder if this is a port or version of the SNES version? Will have to look into this one. At any rate, let us know what you think of Soul Fighter. I've always been kinda interested in it...

Wow, I didn't even know the PSX had a mouse. What games are compatible with it?

Toca is the first PS1 Toca. All together there were 3 Toca games on PSX.
I hear it is kind of like Destruction Derby : -)
Legend PSX is a PAL only 3D brawler. I think someone wrote a review
and left it on the board. ??? The game has its charm. It rips off Golden Axe,
Knights of the Round, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Growl, Final Fight
and a dozen other games.
PSX mouse games-
Die Hard Trilogy, Policenauts, Project Horned Owl and a few others.
It was mostly used in adventure games and shooters.

Man... I had a good time with Soul Fighter.

I think the reason it gets roasted is because the name is so similar to Soul Calibur, and the game is not Soul Calibur.

But it's super cheesy beat-em-up fun.

I had an absolute blast with the game. The game doesn't take itself seriously, and if you don't either, chances are you'll have some fun with it.

Oh yeah, now I remember why I didn't know of any games that could use the mouse: There really aren't any "mouse" games, just games that sort of let you substitute the mouse in for the analog stick. Ah well...

I don't know how you people can keep putting numbers on the amount of games you'd like to get for a system. I mean, I could understand it on something like the 32X or something, where the library isn't that large to begin with...but for stuff like the Genesis, DC, Saturn, etc? I don't know guys.....just seems like when you do that you start missing out on stuff. :(

At any rate, on the SBF2 thing, you may just get it from me. I was mega disappointed with it, just such a lackluster followup from the excellent original. I'm currently going through all of my game libraries, updating the titles and game counts for the various sections of the site, as well as putting games aside that I'm not sure I want to keep. From there, I'm going through these titles seeing if there is any actual, redeeming value to them, and if not they go in the trade box. I have gone through pretty much everything except for the Mac and PC stuff so far. I should be on schedule to open the new trading area by the end of the month.

I remember seeing it on demo a long, long, long while back and, quite honestly, it looked pretty good. This is why, I think, I've always had some interest in it. I need to pick it up if I ever come across it.

I agree. If you want an awesome fishing game Sega Marine Fishing is the one. Screw a 5 lb bass, I want a huge marlin! I like it even better than the arcade version if you use the DC fishing rod.

I like SMF and SBF for different reasons, and as seperate games it's really worth owning both(imo). SBF is nice for how tranquil it is, just sort of a nice day out on the (virtual)lake. SMF is great for how involved and active you have to be when reeling in those huge-ass ocean fish. I've got a fishing rod, myself, so they both rock. :)

Oh it's quite easy. There were 247 US Dreamcast games released (248 if you count Sega Swirl).

I have 219 of them (220 if you count Sega Swirl).

Simple math means I have 28 left to get.

I WILL MISS OUT ON NOTHING. ;)

I can dig it. Would be cool to do two versions of it, one that people could burn to DVD, and just one for web viewing. Have you nailed down how much time you'll give each game yet?

see that's the trouble - even if I just did 2 minutes per game, that'd be an 8 hour video.

I might break it into 4 parts or something like that...

Also was thinking about just doing a montage of real short clips set to various sega tunes.

Well, a DVD-R holds 2 hours of video...;)

Yeah, or you could do each video independently(like you were doing with SF Weekly). I've often times thought of going back and doing a 2 or 3 minute bit of video for each game I've reviewed. It'd be there if people want to watch it, if not, no big deal.

Like the Fors Yard thing? That'd be cool.

I guess, depending on how much bandwidth and storage you have to burn through, you could attempt a few different things. Hell, even if you did the DVD version, you could always try distributing it via Bittorrent...
