For my birthday, yesterday, I got some great stuff: Prey: Limited Collector's Edition(PC) King Kong(Xbox) Played a small bit of KK, it is FUCKING GREAT! It's another one of those FPSs that is really quite like Chronicles of Riddick: EfBB, just really good stuff. Apparently it has a widescreen mode, but you have to unlock it(why, I don't know). Still even just stretching it via its 480p output, looks fucking amazing. I mean, it really looks damn good, I am shocked. Grim gave me a GC to where he works, so I'll be heading up there to get some Genesis games, some SNES games and look through the hundreds upon hundreds of PSX stuff they just got in! Bel |

It was a US release. It is pretty uncommon. I saw a loose copy on ebay range from $5-$15. |

I'll definitely have to check out the rom. It's quite rare when I run into a Genesis/MD game that I've never heard of or tried, this is exciting! Bel |

It's very, very euro. I think it's a decent game... not the greatest game, but it sure has that great Euro charm. |

Used my GC and picked up the following stuff over where Grim works: Genesis, $1.99 - Cart only: Dinosaurs for Hire - Believe it or not, this is actually fucking great! James Bond 007: The Duel - Incredibly hard, but very Rolling Thunder-like action game. Fantasic Dizzy - Always wanted to try this one out, so when I initally saw they had it, I tried the rom the next day. It's very cool! Genesis, $2.99 - Cart only: Grind Stormer - Mega hip! SNES, $2.99 - Cart only: Batman Returns - Love it to no end. Though the driving sequences don't compare to the SCD version, the 2D beat'em section of it is awesome! Pocky and Rocky - I remember renting, and loving this one back when I had my original SNES. Can't wait to play it again! Want to get the import sequels at some point down the line. Oh, on the SNES games, they even had some of those plastic dust cover thingys for the games, so I snagged two of those. ;) Bel |

It is a pain to get running... but it is a multidisc game and a classic. And yeah, the price would include shipping.. I might just buy it to encourage the store. I intern at a Urban Mission, and they have a little salvation army like store... and I saw it near the CD's. All of the discs are there, and everything is complete sans box. I know because I bought it new for $1. A lot of unsold copies ended up in NY. I recall going to Dollar Tree, Dollar Depot or, your average dollar store and they had many, many copies for sale brand new five years ago. It was nuts! |

Got a few this weekend at GameStop: Godzilla: Save the Earth (XB) - $18 used: Pretty cool, don't have the controls down totally yet. Definitely better than the first Godzilla title. Sweet glossy manual in color with a whole page for each monster and their move list. Star Wars: The Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds (XB) - $5 used!!!: Wow, this is a great bargin. This combo disc is even cheaper than Tetris Worlds by itself. I think this was a bundle game for the XB at one time. Haven't given this one a go yet. Ninja Assault (PS2) - $10 used: Always wanted this lightgun game. Ninja's with guns how cheesy. Strike Force Bowling (PS2) - $8 used: Been jonesing for a good bowling and pool game for my newer systems so this is my first whack at that. Unreal Championship (XB) - $5 used: Really just got this one in case Bel wanted to rock it. Never tried Unreal though, so maybe I'll jump around like a Mexican jumping bean in my armor suit here soon. Spikeout Battle Street (XB) - $20 used: A thread on Usenet got me interested in this one. Pretty cool and you really don't see this game all that often. The level structure and progression totally reminded me of a 3d light gun game more than a sidescrolling beat 'em up. Don't have the control down totally yet, alot deeper control set than I thought. Couldn't pick up a weapon (which was driving me CRAZY), manual says hold down left thumbstick and press Y or X, which didn't do any good. Anybody know if theres a certain trick to this? |

I'd like to get it off you, but I'm so sick of trying to get older games to run in XP. It *never* seems to work out. Maybe ebay it? It's a cult classic, it may go for a bit on there... Bel |

This one ought to be fun on Live...even if it is just you and I.
Told ya...it's like that for that "Sega GT/JSRF" combo disc too. I think it's because it doesn't have a barcode and isn't supposed to be resold anyway, so anyone who has it sells it dirt cheap because they don't know what to put it under, and they don't know what it is.
This one always did interest me...
Let us know how it is...I may pick it up on Xbox.
It's damn good, we'll try it at some point together.
Scott has it, so he may be able to help. I've always wanted to try it out...but like you said, you don't see it that often at all. Bel |

It's very good for a 3D beat-em up. The first good one since Zombie Revenge really. As for the weapons thing, you have to check your control scheme in options and make sure you haven't changed anything. I remember some sort of sillyness with picking up weapons which I resolved by changing my button layout. |

Ah, didn't think of that, definitely will try it tonight. I'd check GameFaqs but I'm at work (shhh, don't tell anybody ;) ) and can't get to it right now. Wasn't there another game similar to Zombie Revenge, Dynamite Cop maybe?
I would say its a little on the high side as far as price right now but that was the first time I had seen it myself. Let me know if your into it at the present $20 and I can hook you up. Coop on Live could be pretty sweet.
The first one was a much better two player game than single player game. It looks better than I thought it would. I meant to ask this earlier but I know we have some movie aficionados so, anybody check out that Gojira (original Godzilla flick) yet?
Its Namco but its more standard than Time Crisis. I've played it before and its good, I seem to remember it gets unreasonably hard on the default difficulty.
I hope your not too excited about that! LOL Oh, got a real good start at my game inventory last weekend. Have finished my 32x, SMS and NES games and started on my SNES games. I am boxing up my stuff as I go and hope that motivates me to get a new piece of furniture for my TV and systems by the beginning of next year. My entertainment center is so beat that its embarasing. I should post a picture of it so everyone can have a laugh at my expense. |

Was searching around trying to figure this one out (the weapon thing on Spikeout: BS), didn't figure that out yet but I did find this: Amazon had a few new copies for $30 here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00...5101555?ie=UTF8 If anybody is into it. I guess you never know if that stuff is actually in stock but maybe some of y'all have dealt with some of those vendors, or suppose you can e-mail or call if your interested. Never used Amazon so I don't know what to expect with it. Tryed the controller config route, no dice looks like its some sort of combination of buttons but none I have tryed have worked. Looked on GameFAQs before hitting the sack last night no luck there either and only one FAQ on that one. Please help me! :( |

Spikeout is really poor imo. I never managed to pick up weapons either but I don't think I was missing much. If you want to rampage and smash things on Xbox get State of Emergency. It is your best option. |

You really don't buy stuff from Amazon, they are just a huge gathering of retailers. So, it comes down to a "per buy" sort of thing. So far, in all my time using Amazon, I've not gotten stung by anything. It's pretty nice, they even have reviews for stores and whatnot. None of them seem to have too many bad ratings, and I'm guessing it's because Amazon has relatively strict standard to join/maintain membership.
I found this: http://216.239.51.104/search?q=cache:uo9Ib...us&ct=clnk&cd=1 "Other game mechanics, like picking up a weapon off the ground (pipes, wrenches, flamethrowers, tires, etc.) require the player to pull down on the left-analog stick (otherwise used for movement), and the X+Y button. Try it for yourself; it's awkward as hell." Read the review, they talk about the control quite a bit, might help you out. :) Bel |

Yeah, Dynamite Cop is kind of similar to ZR, both are damn good(imo).
That online Co-op was one of the main reasons I wanted to pick it up when it first came out, I think that'd be pretty cool!
We used to do three player battles, it was a riot, with part one. I still would like to go back and pick it up. About the only thing I wished they'd of done, on either of them, is add the new Godzilla from the US film(the real iguana-looking one).
Come on dude, those things are hard to find!
Heheheh, well at least you're in the process of getting something new. :) Bel |

I bought Quake 3 Gold today for $3.99... I got a dollar off because a friend was working there. I don't think it has one of those huge ass manuals... Instead I think it is a rerelease... like the jewel case games at Walmart. It mentions Activison Value inside of it... I'll ask around some more. |

Zombie revenge was one of those early early games that really got kind of panned and the fact there were so many great games out there, I never picked it up. Played it a few times and it was pretty fun and chaotic. Speaking of zombies (thread diverter mode), I have come close to getting that Stubbs the Zombie but have not, suppose to be a real cult classic, a good game. |

I'm going to research it good first, but just lookign at the circulars from last Sunday, I think I can get something damn good for $100 to $200, although you can spend alot more I'm sure. I think the main thing will be the size; it will need to large enough to hold my current 27" tube set plus I guess front and center speakers for a surround sound system. Beyond that, I want it to be able to hold at least the five systems (XB, PS2, GC, DC and SS) I have hooked up to it and for good measure maybe one more or maybe a nice switcher instead of the one I have. I'll need a one that has optical once I get the surround sound system. |
