It is cold and gray. Time to get in the car and go Game Shopping. I see some Belmont guy mailed me stuff. Good. EB games. They upped their trade in values. It is worth sending the old stuff here again. Nice news. *look at UK Ian's shopping list* Drat none of this stuff is here! Shop for me I guess :) Driver 2, Demolition Racer for 6.99 (good trade fodder), Nitrous Oxide ( it looks trippy- Wipeout meets Tempest) and Top Gear 2 for Sega Genny 1.99. I hope it is better than Hard Drivin' |

Well, you don't *have* to...but it'd be interesting to see if it worked. Here's a weird thing: Sometimes I'll have a Genesis game that just won't work...nothing I do will make it run. I'll pop it in the Nomad, works fine...pop it back in the Genesis, all of sudden it's working. I have no idea what makes this happen... Bel |

Top Gear 2 works...
:) Pretty decent for 16bit pseudo 3D racing. I enjoy the driver commentary- like- Eat my dust, banzaii!!! , Loser and others. The control is decent and I like the large crashes for when I really screw up. The jumps and on track power ups are a plus. |

The first one on the SNES was great, and the ones on the GBC where great. The SNES ver. of Top Gear 2 is much better, but not nearly as good as the first one. :( |

Correction- the XGA box DOES NOT fix PAL images. It will run them. The picture will be stable but the tint is inverted. I tried to fix the colors to no avail. One poster suggested a monitor that would refresh at 50Hz would do the trick. I'm not sure if that is "the fix". Could you make a switch to force such a thing. I know my monitor says it can take 220volt and go to PAL-Land. Maybe tricking it into thinking it is Europe would be enough? Still, for playing DVD, PS1,Saturn,Dreamcast, N64 etc. on your computer monitor and sound system I strongly recommend it. The colors get a little vivid but sitting back at least 4 feet solves that. The displays are clear and very complete. A good device for those living in their den :) |

I'm actually more excited about the Shining Force... Finally have a copy with the manual intact - if you ever buy a used copy of the game, chances are the ticket on manual page 29 has already been cut out. |

You must read more Japanese than me. I hear SF3 part II is the best and the most expensive of the trilogy. Actually all 3 of your buys are rather pricey :) I hope Bulk Slash is in your future, lottery winner! hehehehe |

Scenario 2 is the priciest because it had the smallest run. Sega kind of bungled it - released a ton of Scenario 1, but I guess it didn't sell as well as they expected, so they cut the print run for Scenario 2. That sold out fairly quickly, so they did a larger run for Scenario 3 (though not as large as for part 1) This is why Scenario 1 is often $10 or less, Scenario 3 is usually in the $20 range and Scenario 2 is usually $50+. (I paid $62, but sealed). Now I just gotta find me a reasonably priced sealed Scenario 3 and I'll be all set (I already have the premium disc :)) Actually it seems that most of the 'hot' import saturn titles have gone down a bit in value which is good for buyers. Sexy Parodius used to be in the $50-$60 range, now it can be had for in the $30s. (mine was $40, but I got it from the same seller to combine shipping, and it is mint and complete with spine). Metal Slug used to be in the $90-$100 range... I remember selling my first copy for $75. Now it seems to be in the $60-$70 range (This one cost me only $60 - and again, mint and complete). |

Re Ben- good to hear the market is soft. Bulk Slash should be very affordable then. Warning*RANT, Craziness etc.* I went shopping for work clothes and stopped at EB. It could have only been a weirder experience with peyote. -Izuzu Trooper guy with Washington or Idaho plates- fingering you was wrong but so is driving in someone's blind spot for kicks. Pass or get back in the right lane, you fargging, corksucking icehole! -Amazing looking girl at Work World with glasses- Someone needs to move. I'm know tired of being surrounded by scraggly, assless, studded, half blonde punk women. You rule :) -listening to Johnny Cash, Hurt and John Berry, There's No Cross Love Won't Bear is not always a good idea when operating machinery. -rejected games- Penny Racers n64, Star Wars Demolition psx, Tenchu psx, Driver -rescued games- Sending Driver 2 and N2O away to the charity shop must have paid off. Karma.... GRANDIA!!!!psx 6.99!- Worth breaking my no more RPG policy for I think ;) F-Zero SNES- classics are nice. Test Drive 5 yes FIVE psx- Made by the same nice people you made Demolition Racer a year later. I understand TD5 is a little unforgiving but I'm hopeful it is still very fun. Six was just odd. I feel tired and want a snack now. |

haha nice. I just couldn't bring myself to play the PS1 version knowing that I really ought to be playing the game on my Saturn. So I sold it and got the Saturn one instead. Quite good Quite good. |

Grandia on Saturn, with the adapted Gungriffon game engine. Yep, you must understand WAY more Japanese than me. I bet it looks amazing tho' I just have to settle with the poorly translated and acted Gaijin version ;) |

Test Drive 5 was great. One of my all time fav. racing games. Only a few more options and better car GFX, and it'd be perfect. I own it for the PC and PSX. I like it that much. Oh wait... I lost my PC copy so I bought it for the PSX. Oh well, another great game to add to the library. The sixth one royally fucking sucked. I did have fun with it for a week, but that was when it first came out, and I was a idiotic gamer back then. :) |
