I popped it in real quick, just to make sure the disc worked...I wasn't real happy with the control, but let me play it a bit more and see if I can get into it. The graphics have got that "early Sega Xbox" non-quality to them. Man, I don't know what it is, *all* of their early Xbox titles look really rough in 480p... Bel |

I think it made it to the US on SMS, but maybe not. Still, I'd like to get it on both SMS and GG(I used to have the GG version with my first GG unit). It's a really great game. Bel |

It was released in 1992/1993. The Master System was dead in the states by then. I like the game so much that I just had to buy the MS version. |

I think all I want is the first two Asterix titles, Ninja Gaiden, Air Rescue, Scramble Sprits and maybe a couple others. |

Oh good! That means that I'm not being hasty adding these games to my collection list before I receive them. ;) I included the averaged shipping cost with each game's price, so that is total cost not what she charged for them. I do have to say that the deal didn't seem so sweet when all was said and done, but the games will be worth it. As for GunValkyrie, I don't have complaints really. The game is just completely original in gameplay, and somehow managed to not snag my attention. Hardly any games do nowadays, so that's not a slight against GunValkyrie. I really do need to be prodded to keep laying it. |

They wanted $30 for it at the local shop. It is unopened and in perfect condition though (you know, with the mic and everything). I doubt anybody will ever buy it at that price. |

Picked up a few more games at the Blockbuster 25% off sale: (all Xbox) Silent Scope Complete($15, 11.25 after discount) - Box and disc only. Oddly enough, this is the exact same one Gen traded in with his Xbox when he and his brother got the 360. Mad Dash Racing($4.99, $3.75 after discount) - Box and disc only. The game I *thought* I was buying when I bought Cel Damage. I actually returned Cel Damage, just told them I couldn't get it to boot. Man that game sucked ass. They actually gave me more on my refund than I originally paid! Xbox Controller-S, Blue($9.99, no discount) - They had this one and a transparent green one, I went with Blue. For $10 though, I ought to go back and get the other... The Godfather($7.99, $8.66 with tax) - Complete. Got this off the GameFly sale(ends tonight!), free shipping. They say you get a new case and manual with it, so I'll see how it goes. Man, that game is a *minimum* of $30 used no matter where you go... Bel |

Indeed, and damn is it GREAT! Man, Crystal Dynamics...they've gotta be one of my favorite developers of all time. This is just such a great game in the vein as arcade racers like Arctic Thunder or Hydro Thunder. Good, good stuff. Would have been so very good on Live too...
Ever since the PSX version came out that has both Raiden 1 and 2 on it, and both are damn near perfect, I just can't stand to play any of the other versions. :(
I was expecting this to be as good as the others in the Thunder series(Hydro, Arctic) but it just doesn't seem to be.
Played a demo of it on the PSX, wasn't real happy with it. The programming was great though! ;) Bel |

I beat Fighting Force 1 and I'm curious what 2 is about. They aren't good games but they are easy beatemups. |

Fighting Force 2 isn't a beat-em up. It's more like a 3rd person shooter, but you seriously can't aim or face enemies very easily. I watched somebody who *wanted* the game to be playable spend ten minutes just trying to keep the character facing the direction of the enemies that were shooting at him. That was the Dreamcast version though, so maybe it lost something in the translation to PC and then to Dreamcast? The first Fighting Force was just an early attempt at bringing a beat-em up into 3D, that pretty much only suffered because of the limitations of the PS1 preventing enough enemies with decent AI to be a fair challenge (much like SNES beat-em ups actually). |

Picked up I-Ninja on Xbox (New, $7.42), because a friend described it to me and it sounded really good. It is! Argonaut made it and the game pretty much does what Argonaut does best, borrows elements from other really good games in order to make a good game of their own. I-Ninja borrows elements of Ninja Gaiden and level design attributes originally belonging to both Ninja Gaiden and Sonic Adventure and makes a very concise and funny little package. I will actually play through this game because it is actually entertaining to play and reminds me of the days in which developers were allowed to design levels around the gameplay rather than some skewed concept of reality. |

Today I stopped by a(well, *the*) local gaming place and found: Race Driven', Genesis, complete, $4.90. I am actually pretty impressed with this. I always thought they were pretty much just going to take the Genesis version of Hard Driven' and just simply drop the new tracks in, but they really did put some work in with this one! It runs faster than HD, a *lot* faster. I was shocked. The original HD track seems to have some slight improvements, and the two new ones just look great. Traffic has also been improved, as well as your car's model. All in all, a very solid effort. Super Battleship, Genesis, complete, $4.90. I haven't played this one yet, but I figured it was just going to be the old board game on my Genesis...but they actually added a single player campaign! So, you do get the board game(called "classic mode") as well as this whole new game. Just looking over the box and manual, it sounds really good. Will report back with more on this. Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Axe, Game Gear, cart only, $4.90. Sadly, my Game Gear's audio is pretty much dead. I have to put my ear directly on the speaker to hear anything, and even with headphones and the volume to the max you can barely hear anything. I did play the game for a small bit though, just to test it out. Pretty wild stuff. I like how they did a lot of the enemies, they look really close to what they looked like in GA1. I am liking the hybrid RPG/Adventure Platforming gameplay. It's really tough though, and I got my ass handed to me by some ghosts in the first damn tower! I'll play more of this once I get a new GG unit... Bel |
