Got Thunder Force II MD recently. The side-scrolling levels are genius. |

I agree! The side scrolling missions are my favorite too. The top down eight way control on the top down missions is a little weird but its pretty cool once you get the hang of it. One of my favorite things about it is the awful digital voice and engrish..."Laudu, Good Luck"...or something like that. |

Yeah, no shit. I've got this issue of EGM that tells you how to do all the moves from the Genesis version of EC...man, it's a fucking joke. Bel |

I bought a Philips universal remote for my TV. Worked right out of the box like that, no codes to input or anything like that. I think I know why....
;) Not really game realted, but my orignal remote has put up with quite a bit over the past few years. Still works fine, but it was only eight dollars so why not? |

Got quite a bit but I'm trying to replace some stuff I lost along with some new things: PC: Condemened - $21 from Target, tried this a little last night. More of a survival horrror game in first person than a FPS. Probably the biggest difference, when you get a gun, you only get the ammo the gun holds and then its toast! Pretty cool to see Sega publishing stuff like this and the Total War series instead of the generally awful console ports to PC. Tiger Woods PGA 2006 - $10 from Target, I bought 2007 for PS2 recently and the dificulty is just brutal. So I thought I would get this since its just a 10 spot. PS2: Gran Turismo 4 - $20 from Gamestop, I read that this game will run in 1080i, not that I have the TV to confirm it. Went ahead and played it enough to get my B liscense and do about half the Sunday Cup races. I've played this one a good bit in the past and I think its a big improvement over GT 3. Tekken 5 - $20 from Gamestop, this is another one where they jacked up the difficulty pretty good in the arcade mode. Though I've tried, never even made it to the boss on this, which I never had a problem doing on 3 and 4. Capcom Classics Volume 2 - $20 from Gamestop, this one is very cool. The first one had some pretty old games, this is more late 80's to mid 90's arcade fare. I don't know why but I really get off on the original Street Fighter, the control is so bad that it feels like a real accomplishment when you beat somebody! |

Hmmmm, this is the 4th or 5th in the Burnout series right? I haven't played any of them but Burnout 3. I do love it though... Bel |

I was kind of pumped for Burnout Dominator until I read they took out the freaking Crash mode! Jeez, terrible. I have to say I like the third one the best, I liked Revenge but Burnout 3 is the pinacle of the series for me. |

Target has started clearing this game out for around that, it's a great deal.
This and some biking(as in bicycle) game are the only two that run in anything over 480p on the PS2. Odd that they just skip right over 720p and go straight to 1080i...but more power to'em for doing so!
I don't know if I just misread it or what, but I swear I heard that this and GT4 are *free* if you have a PS3, you can download them and they are upscaled to 1080p.
I almost bought volume 1 of this, this weekend. The line was too long though, so I skipped it. Bel |

In a few days I should be buying a Sega Saturn RGB SCART cable. And then I should be done with RGB cables. I should be getting the splitter tommorow. |

Yeah, its cool but, I just wish it came in one of swanky new PC jewel cases instead of the cardboard box...I think it will be cool though, sort of Resident Evil meets CSI or something.
Nah, I think the Tekken is like $20 to download it, don't know about the GT4 or GT HD or whatever the hell it is. I think that was just too much of a rehash with even fewer cars and tracks (sounds kind of like GT3 compared to GT2) to get away with charging money for so they decided not to release it. I know in Japan they are going to do that GT Concept thing with all sorts of future funky cars in it but I doubt it will come out in the states.
Oh, I think you will like that one. Three versions of SF II, Ghouls 'n Ghost & Ghosts & Goblins (+Super), all sorts of funky shooters (including the 194x series) and Bionic Commando. I would give this Volume 2 a shot also, I was suprised but I like it even better then the first one. |

I know it man, I cannot believe they are still putting games out like that. Just put it in a DVD case, like everything else is in nowadays, you know?
From what I played of the demo, that's almost it exactly. There aren't any zombies or anything, but the drugged out lunatics who attack you are just as bad. I love snapping their necks. ;)
As it is a simulator, I can't get into any of them...I almost want to pick up GT2, just for the Bleemcast pack...but I never can make myself do it.
Oh, wow, arcade Bionic Commando is on there!? Rock on! Yeah, what pisses me off about this one and Vol.2 is that they *don't* tell you all of the games on the disc. Like, they mention 5 to 10 of them...that's it. I don't understand why... Bel |

Thats what I'm saying, they are putting them in jewel case usually but its like a big fat jewel case, usually in a slip cover. I guess when it becomes a bargin basement game maybe they just put it in a cardboard box instead. I think maybe they use a larger jewel case to make it look different and plus even though they put games on DVD theres still 4 or 5 discs! ;)
Oh, no doubt! The game has some funky controls, I saw all those finishers were like the 1, 2, 3 and 4 buttons. It has an option for a controller, that Tiger does too, so I'm going to be looking for a USB pad with dual analog. Have thought about the 360 controller to use on the PC but its pretty pricy so I may go with the Logitech instead.
I think all of them except GT1 have had an arcade mode where you can jump in and race though! Gran Turismo is great but the Sim mode does take alot of time and effort for seemingly little reward, you know wow I just beat like 5 killer races now I get that Toyota Tercel, thanks.
Me neither! If I'm at Gamestop I usually open the case and look at the manual! ;) Anyway heres the games on there. The collection includes the following 22 timeless classics: 1942 1943 1943 Kai Street Fighter II Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting Street Fighter II Champion Edition Ghosts’ N Goblins Ghouls’ N Ghosts Super Ghouls’ N Ghosts Son Son Exed Exes Pirate Ship Higemaru Vulgus (Capcom’s first game ever) Commando Mercs Gun Smoke Section Z Bionic Commando Forgotten Worlds Legendary Wings Trojan Final Fight Knowing you you'll probably stoked for Commando, Mercs and of course Final Fight too. Some the shooters are really old school, I do dig Section Z and the 194x series though. So is it like $10 or $15 now, if so where at? |

There's nothing quite like opening up one of those thicker DVD cases to find 4 to 10 CDs just sort of stacked in there. CSI: Miami was like that(4 discs). I'm just so done with the multi-CD install. Even if I don't give a fuck about any of the special "DVD Edition" features of a game, I buy the DVD version. If I ever find the fucker out there who is still trying to run fucking EverQuest II on his Pentium II with its 4X CD-Rom drive...I'll kill him, because he's ruining it for the rest of us. ;)
The finishers are great, I can't remember all of them...but I usually use the neck snap.
I'd go with the 360 controller if I were you. You can get either the 360 branded one, or the "For PC" branded one, but get it instead. Thing is dude, all these games coming out that say "Games for Windows" will have 360 controller compatibility guaranteed...the Logitech pad may or may not work. Devs know the MS is really pushing that, so most of them are including it in their games. It'll save you a lot of hassle to just have the 360 pad...plus, if you ever get a 360, you'll have two! Be *SURE* to get the wired controller though, the wireless controllers don't work on the PC.
I tried the arcade mode when Gen brought it over...I wasn't real impressed. Didn't seem "arcade" at all, other than you just pick a car and a track and you're off. :(
That's not a bad little collection. It's $10, if you can find it, at Blockbuster right now with their 50% off sale(normally $20). It's usually $14.99 used at most Blockbusters. Not sure what other retail stores have it at... Bel |

LOL. So true, it seems like thats way its going pretty quick. Took a quick look at the newer games I got and it seems about 50/50. The multi disc install is pretty bad though, the 30 digit key is bad enough without having to insert disk 2, 3...
Yeah, thats a good point. The Logitech isn't a badly made pad or anything but I'll eventually get a 360 so probably smarter to do that. Oh, they just came out or will be releasing soon the wireless adapter for PC to use XB360 accesories, controller, headset and wheel. On the PC a wired controller would be just fine though.
Cool, its been awhile since I have been to BB to check out games. They usually have a good sale on DVD's too, like buy 2 get 1 free or something. |

Chronicles of Riddick and Painkiller Gold are two of the worst(8 to 10 discs), but nothing beats fucking EverQuest II(*13* discs).
Yeah, once that adapter comes out you can use your wireless controllers on the PC...but as of right now it won't work. Of course, you'll no doubt, be getting the Premium 360 so you'll get a wireless controller with it. :)
I just wish they'd start renting fucking HD DVDs or even selling them used...;) Bel |

Owch, thats really bad. I don't think I have ever had to load one that took more than half a dozen. But even then it sucks.
With out a doubt, as a matter of fact, latest thing I heard is that the Core system might get axed. I have heard the same thing about the PS3 with the smaller drive as well. I just think they sell so many more of the others they might as well just sell one model. They don't rent them yet...wow, thats kind of suprising, it really seems to be catching on, HD-DVD I mean. Maybe they could get rid of the VCR stuff and make some more space or do they even rent that stuff anymore? |

It sucks. What really kills me is if you have two optical drives(CD or DVD) you can't load two at a time as the fucking installer isn't intelligent enough to check for the other drive. They *could* make it a relatively easy process, let you put two discs in a time, have some sort of "chime" noise go off when they're done, etc. but nooooooooooo, they make you sit in front of the fucking PC for 4 hours loading all 27 discs. Bastards. ;)
I think that not selling the core units for both Sony and MS is a big mistake. For MS, they're core unit is what allows them to boast the "under $300" status, and for Sony helps them go "Well, this one is *only* $500". ;)
Well, I meant to elaborate on that a bit more. They rent them, but only on that Blockbuster Online entity. As far as I've seen, no BB store actually carries them(or Blu-Ray). I'll have to go with them or either Netflix to rent HD DVD stuff around here... Bel |

I disagree, memory cards are a thing of the past at least proprietary ones should be I hope. Doesn't Wii use like SD cards now? Having a hard drive for game saves really isn't all that important but if your going to be downloading content its pretty much a necessity. I know with the XBox, I never even used a fraction of its capacity because I never used it for anything but game saves and maybe a few CD's burned to it.
I'm sure they will start carrying at least like new releases pretty soon. I can remember when they first started carrying DVD's thats what they did, no real library of older stuff for sure. |
