I have been, and remain, non-sequitur
|
I traded Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and my no instructions Sonic Heroes, and picked up a clean Sega Nomad (plus a $50 fee of course). Man, I've wanted one of these for a long time, and since I haven't seen one in a store for a couple of years, I just had to get this. I took a couple of videos of Whip Rush using it's AV out, and the signal quality is very nice, possibly nicer than the 32X! It's just too bad that my worthless ATI AiW 2006 can't manage to keep audio sync with fast video. |

The Nomad is damn nice(see more on your Nomad post in OSSS). As for your AiW Radeon problems...I have borrowed Grimshade's video input card, and will be installing it in the PC tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. As far as I've seen, I think it's only $50 or so...so it if it performs well, might be something for you to look into. I'll post more thoughts on this later in the week. :) Bel |

Had quite a weekend of spending way too much, but I did end up with some good stuff. Above and beyond a crapload of DVDs(Movie Trading Company had their 4th of July sale) I also managed to pick up Spot on NES and Battletoads/Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team on SNES. Also got the ASCII Pad on SNES!!! That fucking thing goes for $25 on ebay any time it shows up. I used to have it back when I had my original SNES, and have been yearning for it every since I got another SNES. Was thrilled as fuck to see it in the wild for a mere $2.99! Am putting some serious thought into taking the NES out of the closet and adding it to my other consoles on the stand... Bel |

I bought a DVD rack that holds 45 DVD's for the Xbox games I own and want... I'm almost done with Xbox for the time being. I plan on getting more games later, so we'll see how that goes. |

Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale at Blockbuster on used games!!! Hit it now, I guarantee you this is the last push to get rid of all remaining Xbox stock. Picked up Crash Nitro Kart and Namco Museum 50th Anniversary(the one with Dragon Spirit and Rolling Thunder). Will post more Monday with thoughts on both titles... Oh, also got Bubble and Squeak on Genesis(complete). Never actually played it, but have always been interested. Bel |

Let us know what you think of Dreamfall and Still Life. Dreamfall on PC, unfortunately, has fucking Starforce protection on it and I'm not risking my HD getting fucked just to play it. I wouldn't mind trying it on the Xbox though. I hear bad things about BSG, but see what you think and let us know. :) Bel |

BSG was pretty good, probably the best arcade type flight sim on Xbox next to Crimson Skies. The voice acting in it is pretty bland, but the missions are challenging, the controls are pretty good. I played through most of the game in a 3rd person view, but you can play it in first person. A multiplayer mode would have been nice, but I don't see it happening in split screen, there's just too much to keep track of at once. |

Oh man, SF: The Movie....I don't even know what to say.
;) If it's not the load times killing me on that one, it's just how awful SF looks with digitized actors... Bel |

I thought it looked pretty nice, and rebuilding the game using the SF2T engine was a good move. You're right about the actors though (Danny Glover as Mike Bison?) |

Yeah, doing it based off SSF2T was a pretty slick move...the arcade version was tough and awkward due to the entirely new fighting system. Some people really liked it though, as it's a hot MAME download. I tried it a few times, couldn't do anything with it other than get my ass handed to me. Maybe I'll grab it for MAME and see how it goes. Bel |
