Picked up SiN Episodes: Emergence for $5(PC), which is probably what it's actually worth(a whole *3* hours of gameplay, yeehaw!). Interested to play it, just wasn't interesting it paying $20 for it. Comes with SiN 1 and the expansion(I believe). I own both, but may sell them now... Also got Nitro Family for $2(PC), an FPS that uses the Serious Engine. Plays a lot like Sam, lower quality over all though. Still, pretty fun. Get this: Picked up Turok 2 on PC for $3.99. I get home, open it up, it's got fucking Forsaken in it! Man, that pisses me off. Will be returning it for Tomb Raider II Gold on PC... Bel |

Well, when I opened the box, Forsaken was the only thing in there. It did have the manual for Turok 2, but no game.

I somehow missed this post!
I trust that will be the only UMD you'll own on the system? ;) Man, I don't know what the fuck Sony was thinking when they came up with that...
If you ever get a "stuck" pixel, there are quite a few apps out there that can help. I've had to use a few on this one pixel on my laptop a few times.
I've not ever played any of the Daxter games, though Groover tells me how great they are.
They say that the original TG16 CD version is on there as well...though I don't know that I'd recommend playing it. ;)
Sounds very interesting, I've not ever heard of this. Though Gen has a PSP, I rarely hear anything about it.
Not too shabby. Don't forget about all the emulators out there for the PSP as well...
I've never much cared for SFA3, and I can't imagine it being any good on something that only has 4 face buttons. Still, I'd be interested in hearing who the three new characters are(I'm guessing they are simply palette swaps?).
I really love HS1 and 2 on the PSX, I can imagine the others(including this one) being pretty hip.
The DS, in my opinion, is a gimmicky piece of shit...give me the PSP, or hell even the Game Gear over it any day. I'm not much in to the portable scene anymore, and am looking to get the SMS versions of what's available on my GG as we speak. Bel |

I snagged Mad Dog McCree I+II and Flashback for 3DO. I'm mostly just excited about Flashback, but the Mad Dog games were cheap and I've been wanting to check them out anyway. |

The Mad Dog games suck, imo. They are FMV-based lightgun games...so you can just imagine all the issues that that brings up. Flashback is alright, not really my thing though. I have it on Sega CD, have been wanting to put somemore time in with it, to see if I can't get in to the whole "Out of the World" way of doing things with *way* too much animation. ;) Bel |

I think that the Mad Dog games are universally panned, though I'm not sure what is intrinsically evil about FMV light gun shooters. Corpse Killer and Area 51 seemed to work alright (kind of like Operation Wolf). I am hoping that a regular crosshair and controller will work though, as I can't use lightguns anymore. :( I really enjoyed Flashback on Genesis, but rented the Sega CD game once. As I recall, the Sega CD game was the Genesis cart (a CD in a cartridge, remember) with FMV cutscenes. I am supposing that these FMV cutscenes will be higher color on the 3DO and everything else will remain the same. The game itself might be more colorful as well, but it can't be higher resolution. I had wanted the Sega CD game above all else, but when I saw the 3DO version just sitting there "buy it now" for $15 I couldn't resist. (Edit) I forgot to mention that Flasback, Out of this World and Heart of the Alien are essentially Prince of Persia with different types of weapons. Tomb Raider is actually Prince of Persia in 3D, but that is completely unrecognized. |

Well, Area 51 and Maximum Force, for example, did it right: They used FMV backgrounds and sprite enemies, so when you killed someone they died immediately, instead of the game switching to another stream of video where someone dies. That's a lot of the problem with the entire American LaserGames FMV-based lightgun line up.
Correct...but don't forget the new, redone redbook soundtrack.
I am pretty sure that it's got the higher color count, and I think it even has new FMV scenes. There was some site I saw a while back that actually had a comparison of every version of Flashback out there. Try Google at some point, see if you can find that, it had a lot of interesting info on the various versions(even talks about "Fade to Black", the sequel). Bel |

Oh, okay. I didn't realize that the Mad Dog games did that. Corpse Killer uses sprites overlayed on the backgrounds also. It doesn't do it very well, but at least they explode when you shoot them.
I don't remember any music in either, except for some ambient sounds that is. I guess they have better ambient sounds?
I'll check it out at some point for sure. Fade to Black is the game to check out, though, if you ever want to see why 3D wasn't ready to take over when the Playstation launched. To call that game bad is an understatement. |

I was sort of half and half on SR on the Genesis. One one half, I was happy that it made it at all, and that it still had (at least)two player support. On the other, I was disappointed to see how cut it was from the arcade. Adding insult to injury was the SNES version coming out later, which was *all* of the levels from the arcade... Bel |

Yeah, I've owned the SNES game for about six months and was disappointed in it because they censored the hell out of it. On top of that, the Genesis game has better backgrounds and more animation (as usual). I haven't finished either game yet, but you can bet I'll do a full comparison page on all three versions before too long. |

Sounds good to me. I don't recall any censorship in the SNES version, but it's been so many years since I've played it. I need to go through and beat it in MAME at some point... Bel |

They took out the drinking, (scandalous) women and Indians in the SNES version. To be fair, the Genesis version doesn't have the drinking. The women who throw dynamite are not included in either home version. The thing that disappointed me about the SNES version was that every enemy is the same sprite. The arcade and Genesis games just have a better variety of enemy types. |

I'm not sure it could be worse than Action Fighter or Shinobi on the SMS. Get a stamp for finishing the last level, enter your initials (that won't save to the cart) and say hello to the title screen. ;) |

Got D&D Heroes, Terminator 3 for $1.00 each at a video store that was going out of business, no box or manuals. Terminator 3 has a variety of gameplay experiences, there are FPS parts, driving and shooting parts, some third person action, I liked grabbing weapons off of other cyborgs or beating them with my fists in the first mission, after which you get sent back to the past into a very difficult driving mission trying to catch up to the chick terminator in a car chase where the cops try to take you down. D&D Heroes is very Diablolike, except instead of managing your inventory constantly to rearrange stuff to fit in that box, you're restricted by weight to determine how much you can carry. There are four classes/characters to choose from, Fighter, Cleric, Rogue and and some Sorceress chick. I've been craving some kind of Diablo like experience since playing that Hellgate demo and being disappointed. I don't think the level design is random in this game, but it's well worth the $1. |
