i got out of TG collecting a few years back. The prices for a lot of the stuff have just gotten so ridiculous. I just wish Cadash would get a Wii VC release... or even better, a spot on a Taito Legends 3 compilation disc.

I actually passed up Military Madness on Live for $10 for this. It'll be my first truly complete Turbo game and that makes me relatively satisfied. I've started feeling like if I'm going to pay $40+ on something and keep it, it might as well be something that has been calling my name for years. I never do really feel the same way about brand new stuff. Now, paying over original retail for something I still generally won't do.

I'm gonna sing the DOOM Song.
I've been dormant for too long... -_-
Silent Hill (PSN)- This is still scary. I have a few complaints like the camera and draw distance, but this game is awesome and still scary. I just couldn't believe it. Not one Resident Evil game is scary to me at all now, but Silent Hill still gets me. Konami did an awesome job and I think I'll check out Silent Hills 2 & 3 down the road since they're so cheap now. 9/10

Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 (PS3)- This game is awesome. I haven't had this much fun with a SVR game since SvR 2006. It plays well, the created wrestlers aren't a pain to build up and the roster's awesome. Yay! 9-10/10

Marvel: Ultimate Aliance 2: No... guys I can't do this anymore. I hate that I bought this game. It wasn't worth it. All I did was give those fuckers at Activision $60 for a rental. I'll still play the first one with you guys this winter break, just not this one since I sold it (for a pretty good price too). 6/10

Quick note:
Because of the situation surrounding Activision and my own personal feelings, I've decided to ignore Modern Warfare 2 this year. It hurts, but I will not give them any more money. Remember how I usually hand out awards to the best games of the year? Well regardless of what I said on the E3 topic, MW2 is disqualified.

Battlefield Bad Company (PS3 rental): Wow this game is painfully average. It's like it's content with being unremarkable. Kind of sad when you think about it. 5/10

Though I know I'll get my ass handed to me for this, I've gotta just throw it out there: I thought the Genesis version of Cadash was fucking great. I've played all the way to the end on it...but got whipped by the last guy(or getting to him, can't remember). Granted, it's only two player...and I hear that TG16 version is much better(done by WD, in fact) but the Genesis version isn't too shabby at all.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (X360 Rental)...
I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. For some reason I rented this since Dragon Age and Borderlands weren't there. And now I have to give Kotick what he want's because this game is just as frickin' amazing as the last one. I can't skip this even though I got burned by Marvel Ultimate Disappointment 2. Sigh... 10/10 (So far.)

if you'd ever played the arcade version, you'd have been pissed about the genesis version.

It's not a bad game, per se, but it's missing two of the four characters - Ninja and Priest.

That'd be like a Ninja Turtles game without Leonardo and Michaelangelo; a Gauntlet game without Valkyrie and elf; Pac-Man without Blinky and Clyde; Crazy Taxi without B.D. Joe or Gena, etc.

The Genesis version is all the more insulting considering the TG version does have all the characters.

Wow, I own the Genesis version and only played it once, but I would have sworn it at least had all four characters. Taito committed this heinous act themselves too.

nope, only two - I remember renting it and getting ready to play the Ninja to discover he hadn't made the cut.

Also, don't take my word for it... From Sega-16's review:"The first thing you notice is that there are two characters to play from and a two-player option. This is a bit of a slap in the face; in the arcade version there were four characters rather than three and losing two of them (the priestess and ninja) just isn't a good feeling. Especially given the fact that, while the fighter and mage are quite cool, they're also rather generic."

Yes, he needs to proofread, but there are only two characters in the Genesis version.

after stewing over not having a proper home version of Cadash for the consoles I own, I discovered it's on the Xbox version of Taito Legends 2.

The bad news is it only got a PAL release... but from what I read it is one of the few region free xbox games. And even better, demand for the game has dropped significantly over the past couple years. So instead of paying $60 to some random ebay limey, I found it for about $25 shipped. Here's hoping the emulation is good.

There's a couple of changes between the two if I recall. Rayforce for the Xbox version and Raystorm for the PS2 being the biggest.

Ben, some info on the versions, the exclusives on each console and more:

There are some other posts regarding it, just use the search feature and type in "Taito". The one mentioned above is the largest though.

Just keeping tabs. Bel sent me Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (Complete) for Saturn, Tomb Raider (Greatest Hits Complete) for PS1, Super Off Road (Cart Only) and Road Rash (Cart Only) for Genesis ($24.50).

I also received a number of other things I didn't pay for, including a Gravis flight stick for PC, various PC games which I have installed and intend to play, and some PC software I haven't taken a look at yet.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but guys, seriously, if you've got a Half Priced Books in your area...it *really* is worth your time to stop in if you're a PC gamer:

Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 - $1.48
The Club - $0.98
Arctic Stud Poker Run - $0.98
Pneumbra: Black Plague - $2.00
Call of Duty 2 - $3.00
Fable: The Lost Chapters - $3.00
Mirror's Edge - $6.00
Fate - $1.00
The Dig - $0.25
Serenescreen Marine Aquarium - $2.00

...and that's just what I can think of, off the top of my head. It's like having EB Games back, and their unbelievably large and dirt-cheap selection of used PC games. At those prices, how can you go wrong? At those prices, how can you *not* have a HUGE library of games...most never even installed...

I have played the arcade version...and the absence of the other characters is felt, but I still really feel the warrior and wizard are adequate and more than worthy to go through the game with.

True, true.

I don't know about that...Cadash is a single IP, there's no real emotion over these characters missing for most people. Now, had there of been three or four Cadash titles previous...I could see it...

I still feel it's a solid port that plays really well. Was it exceedingly lazy on Taito's part to pull a stunt like that? Sure. The thing is, say you're someone who really only would have used the Warrior to begin with...are you going to miss the other characters not being there? Not really. Now, for the hardcore Cadash arcade fans, I can see your point...but for the casual guys, like myself, you don't really notice the absence of the others as it still plays so well. I had a blast going all the way to the last boss during my last sit down with it...

Borderlands(PS3) and Dragon Age: Origins for B-Day 21!
Dragon Age is awesome and I haven't played Borderlands yet, but the one thing I think I might need are some drinking tips. I gulped down a glass of wine last night like it was kool-aid and found out the hard way that's not how you're supposed to do it. :D

I recommend only drinking with a relatively large meal if you haven't had any before. I'd also recommend not getting the taste for drinking alone or apart from meals from personal experience. ;)

Stay away from wine that came from a box too, hehe.

I picked up Dragon Age off of Steam when they had it for 25% off before Thanksgiving as well as some of the cheapies at GoGamer.com during some of their 48 hr madness. Couldn't pass up Age of Mythology with the expansion for 3.90 plus shipping.

Pfft, the only thing wrong with boxed wines is if you drink the whole box in less than three days you pee out of your butt.

WeaponLord (Snes, Boxed) for $9.99.

-edit-

And my SNES is dead. Great. It'll be a while before I find one for the $15 I'm willing to spend for my *third* SNES.
