http://snesorama.us/board/forumdisplay.php?f=111 A buddy of mine pointed this out to me the other day. Thought it was pretty hip in that it's got a pretty nice selection of ISOs. I've been using them to test games out, see if they are worth picking up and whatnot. As far as I can tell, every system listed and its software are considered abandonware, and just so everyone knows, I'm ok with abandonware. If the manufacturer cannot be bothered to produce these games that people will readily pay money for, then they have no right to get upset when people are downloading it for free. If Sega would start re-printing PDS, I'd buy it in an instant...but no, they can't be bothered... So far, I tried out this little-known DC game called "Aqua GT". Looked to be a lot like Hydro Thunder, which is a good thing, but is a pretty dull racer. :( I'll be ditching that disc.... http://dcisozone.com/browse/dreamcast-isos/all/page_1.html DC ISO Zone! These guys have a LOT of DC games...and they are all free. Great place to try stuff out before you buy! Bel |

The other pallet swapped ninja

Holy crap, I found this a week ago and reburned all of the isos I had that where scratched up. I had a CD-R of Yu Suzuki Game Works that was really fucked up, so I was really happy to find an iso there. I directed a friend to the site and he's burned more than I have. Not much there I really want to burn, but it's neat. |

I generally use it like a rental service, and I'm glad I checked Aqua GT before going out and looking for it. Man it was boring... My next order of business is to see if they have Lethal Enforcers Collection for PSX, so I can see if it allows for unlimited continues, if it does, I'm going to finally put some real time in to finding it on ebay(affordably) and sell off my Sega CD versions and both guns. Long live abandonware. A big thanks out there to the companies fucking us over by not producing the software anymore...couldn't have done it without you. :P Bel |

Yeah, I don't do any sort of disc swapping. About the only things I try are anything that can be just simply popped in the console(DC, SCD, 3DO, NGCD, etc) or something that can be used via emulation(PSX). It's great for trying stuff out, I can't tell you how many times this has not only saved me from buying a really shitty game, but also opened my eyes to a really good on that I just didn't even know about! Great place to get the full set of Model 2 roms that work with the "Model 2" emulator. Everything is ready to go, no need to rename any of the fucking pieces in the archives. http://www.snk-neofighters.com It's all in Portuguese, but wildly enough Google does an excellent job of translating it. http://www.google.com/search?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.snk-neofighters.com%2F&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a (choose "translate", off to the side) The direct link is here: http://www.snk-neofighters.com/modules/wfdownloads/viewcat.php?cid=190 And the password to decompress it all is "http://www.snk-neofighters.com". Works nicely. Also, check out their other "full sets", this site has a LOT of roms and other stuff! Bel |

AARGH! I've downloaded these files three times and each time it won't unpack saying something is corrupt. Would you mind terribly posting these somewhere I can download them if you managed to get them off the server correctly? Just make sure you post them terribly. |

Does it ask for a password? If so, giving it anything but the correct one will yield the "corrupt" error. The password for everything is "http://www.snk-neofighters.com/", possibly without the "/" at the end. Bel |

I used that password, it gets mostly through the decompress process and then tells me that one of the files is corrupt. |

I was just frustrated with it. I really have sat through those damned countdown three times for the whole Model 2 set. Each time I browsed away and missed the point it hit zero from five hundred seconds I had to wait another twenty seconds. Then the files were corrupt. If it's not any trouble I'd appreciate it, otherwise I'll just download from emuasylum. |

If you get them from Emu, you have to change *every* file in most of the archives. There's no way in fuck I'd do it...in fact, this is why I haven't really put any effort in to Model 2 emulation up until now. Sadly, VF2 is *nowhere* on the emulator's list... :( Bel |

Has anybody found a working version of Silpheed for the PC? Man I would love to see what Sierra's game was like before Game Arts turned it into a masterpiece. |

Wow, I had no idea it even came out on the PC! Will look for it right now... Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqoiVgZARiY It's actually kind of impressive! Also, it says it's done by GA! Bel |

Hmm, 1988 PC game, yeah. If this was well known they should have called the Sega CD title Silpheed 2, as it's obviously different level designs and way more complex. All the same, it's nice that somebody uploaded this. We get to see that the Sega CD title is actually not generating polygons, but rather using pre-rendered sprites the same as the original game was. |

Makes you wonder how they always missed this game in the raging debates on usenet/forums about whether or not the Sega CD was rendering the polygons or not. Bel |

I've never seen it available to download or buy, anywhere. I seriously would have built a machine just to see what it looked like too. Apparently Silpheed for PC is very rare if it isn't non-existent on the market today. |
