Fox better not cancel this like they've done every other halfway decent show they've had over the last 10 years.

Though I still can't understand why Terminators are still coming, or why the exoskeleton looks so much different than it did in T1 through T3, I'll sympathize with your plea. I've gotten in to the habit of not even starting to watch a show until the first season is done, and they've announced that a second season *will* be happening.

I've downloaded the first two or three episodes of SCC, but it's still questionable as to whether I'll actually watch them or not. If this were set in the future, I could understand it...but man, we're back in the past, they've stopped the machines by destroying the chip and *more fucking Terminators are coming*!?

It takes place between the events of Terminator 2 and 3. It uses the premise that setup up T3, they didn't stop skynet, just delayed it, so both Skynet and future John Connor sent Terminators into the past, but then the good Terminator winds up transporting Sara and John Connor into their future, 2007 to try and stop Skynet again.

I try not to think about paradox too much and alternate realities/dimensions, it makes my brain hurt, but the show is good so far.

Hmmmm, I guess I'm missing it...but like I said, I may attempt to watch them at some point.

Problem with it is, this is Fox, and they are the most notorious network when it comes to canceling shows. I mean, if something isn't doing what they want within the first two episodes, they'll can it.

I'd watch the ratings real close before you get your hopes up. This show is, no doubt, expensive to make so if viewership drops every week you can bet your ass they'll cancel it real soon. Plus, they sit there and launch it in the middle of the writer's strike. God only know how many episodes were actually written before that happened, and again with Fox's quick hand on canceling stuff, I'm wondering how many episodes were even filmed. I'd guess around 5 or 6.

One thing I did find wild about it was that that lady from Serenity is in there, and the smokin' hot Sarah is that queen from 300!

My how the tables have turned!

Yeah, Fox has cancelled many shows that I've enjoyed, Brimstone, Keen Eddie, Dark Angel, Firefly, among others, most of them are listed in the season four premiere of Family guy. I'm not going to go on a rant and compare them to Sony, but rather applaud them for taking chances on shows that other networks wouldn't touch. I don't give a shit about the ratings, as I have no way to affect them being a TV pirate.

Yes, Leonidas's wife and that crazy chick from Serenity are in it. Fox had planned to launch this show in January long before talks of a writer's strike, so I imagined most if not all the episodes they planned to air this season has already been written, which would put us through the end of May before they run out. I'm guessing most of the episodes have already been filmed as well. The unaired pilot leaked back in July. Most of the filming would have to be done by now for a short season.

Plus, what else are they going to air if they cancel it while the writers are on strike? If anything, this almost guarantees that they'll air all the episodes that they have scripts for. Unless they're desperate to throw together more reality tv shows. They already came out with that pirate show, (which may or may not have aired on fox, i dont know, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) Pirates vs Ninjas would be the next logical step.

I dont know, with the success of American Gladiators, I'm sure that there will be a bunch of reality ripoffs if the writers don't go back to work soon. I bet they'll come up with something similar on Fox hosted by Jesse "The Governor" where he gets to spout off his crazy conspiracy theories in between introducing the next event and contestants.

Maybe this was all part of David Letterman's plan to take over as the King of all Media and take down Howard Stern. He's the only one that's made a deal with his writers for his company Worldwide Pants, who's to say that they haven't been scripting hundreds of shows for years in secret waiting for this day to launch their own network and put all the others out of business?

I don't understand how canceling a show in as little as *two* episodes is considered "taking a chance". Now, had they of played the full six episodes(or whatever) they had filmed in an effort to give the show a real shot, that'd I'd call a chance. Canceling something after two episodes is "we need a huge tax break this year, The Master of Disguise didn't do nearly as well as we had hoped for".

Well, I guess cross your fingers that viewership doesn't fall by three whole people on the Nielson ratings...because if it does, that show is gone.

You know the answer to this.

You'd think, but this is Fox man...the network that actually canceled Family Guy...only to bring it back and then allow the creator to do another show on top of it.

Bingo. You've asked above, you've answered it now. Reality TV is what's left....and sweet, merciful Jesus does it suck. You want a real reality show? Give me a bottle of vodka and a gun, and just have some camera guy follow me around Dallas for a day. Shit, I'll show you "reality"...

Don't forget "American Whore Idle". Fox is, sadly yet again, betting on this bringing in the same idiot teens to watch as yet another whore with a slightly less irritating voice make her way to stardom. Then, of course, she'll do one album and fade in to obscurity as almost 95% of the previous "Idles" had done. God, I can't wait to Tivo it...

Howard killed himself when he went to pay-to-listen radio. Now I'd guess his biggest numbers coming from a little sight called "The Pirate Bay".

I had heard that a few other TV shows have made this arrangement as well, but I could be mistaken here. This is what I found on it:

"The approach has resulted in deals with David Letterman's television production company Worldwide Pants, another with feature studio United Artists, and a third one with film studio The Weinstein Company."

Still, it just comes down to what I said previously: Fuck current TV, just wait for it on DVD....in the meantime, watch some of the countless hours of QUALITY TV already available on DVD. ;)

I can't think of anything they put out that I wanted to watch that they canceled after 2 episodes. I remember hearing about some reality show that they were going to do about some news anchor chick that got canceled after 2 episodes. Drive only got 4 episodes, as much as I love Hemi Challengers and Nathan Fillion, even I have to admit that the premise of that show didn't hold water and sucked ass. ;) The other shows I mentioned in the other post got at least 10 episodes. You have to say that at least Fox is trying to diversify their line up. With the exception of Jericho (which the sons of bitches axed twice now), all CBS does is bring out another CSI every couple of years. I have watched more new shows that I liked that unfortunately got the axe on Fox than I have any other major network. I'm not really defending Fox per se, as they've made many, many decisions I don't agree with, but if it weren't for them I wouldn't have been introduced to the Joss Whedon worlds. I never watched Buffy or Angel when they were on, and didn't give them a chance until Wang showed me Firefly that he downloaded from the internet. I went out, bought the DVD's, watched them, and then became curious about his other stuff, which i have enjoyed.

I prefer to think that Family Guy was ahead of its time, and was canceled because the majority "didn't get it" Since they brought it back, I haven't enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the first 3 seasons. I watched a couple of episodes of the 4th season, and didn't like it as much. It did get better (I got bored and watched most of the 5th season).

They have shows like that in Russia. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/1998/int...ion.russ25.html

Not quite as violent as the idea you suggest, but sounds like fun to me. Maybe we are fast approaching the days of the Running Man.

More of what you were saying about the sickness of Reality shows

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/35396

I can't believe that people would want to watch a show about people that get caught lying. What idiot would subject themselves voluntarily to a lie detector to answer deeply personal questions about their personal lives and relationships?

Everyone lies, everyone does all sorts of things that society frowns upon. The only person I'd want to see questioned on a lie detector would be OJ motherfucking Simpson, just once I'd love to see him admit the truth. Hell he should go on the show, say he did it just to expose the justice system in California (or anywhere for that matter) for the joke that it is.

Well I am enjoying this show so far. It is nice to see other terminators out there. I mean we all know from the first movie that they did not all look like the Govenator. They would have been too easy to spot. In 2 and 3 we say different models. River from Firefly was a great choice for the main terminator.

This is the one reality show I can actually get behind. I mean, dude, it is FUCKING awesome to take some uptight white woman, throw her in a chair and in front of ALL OF AMERICA ask her if she cares about the dying children in Africa. I mean, we all know the answer, but it's the utter shock of watching someone saying it that just fucking thrills me to death.

I wish they'd get really hardcore with the questions, I mean, I want someone jumping off a building after they just got done winning $100,000. That would rock.

Speaking of, I need to throw these in the Bittorrent que...

I can't belive I'm watching it myself. Part of me wants this show off the air for its sheer stupidity, but the other part is taking pleasure in watching people ruin their lives for money.

We just canceled our Dish Network because $50 a month for like four shows a week is totally not worth it considering we could buy the seasons on DVD later. I was pleasantly surprised that Xbox Live Marketplace has Sara Conner Chronicles along with Supernatural and a few other shows up-to-date for download at only $2 an episode. At least I won't miss out on two of my favorite shows before they hit DVD.

Oh yeah, and I decided to celebrate ( you knew today was special didn't you? ) and bought a bunch of HD DVD stuff I wanted:

300
The Good Shepherd
The Last Starfighter
Mystery Men
Payback: Director's Cut
Star Trek Season 1
Superman
Superman II: Richard Donner Cut
10 blank HD DVD cases new

Grand total $200. This ought to keep the entertainment flowing for a good long while along with what I've already bought since January.

Yay!

I had low expectations for Terminator but it is OK.
Sure beats New Knight Rider. I did like watching the new title graphics
and remixed theme. Beyond that, it was so bad. KITT is NOT a Mustang!
Nothing against a Mustang. The voice of the false KITT bothers me.
I wish there was a second season of Blade to look forward to...

The writers strike made the local network go digging for shows.
Now they have Painkiller Jane on Saturdays. I hope they broadcast them all
before they replace the show.

The whole pay-for-free-TV thing annoys me...I mean, I can understand it for shows on cable, but for free TV, to pay for it is just beyond ridiculous(imo). It's free to watch, so it's free to download...you ought to try it....then stream it to your 360 via TVersity or something. It do this with my laptop...it's nice.

Be sure to watch the IME on this one, it's in front of a bluescreen(the entire film). The best part about it? Warner will re-release this on Blu-Ray, once they get 1.1 working well enough, as a "special edition", fucking BR owners for another version. It's great.

Indeed...and now, with the news from Toshiba, getting virtually every HD DVD disc you even just "kind of" want will be a real possibility, and you can do so cheaply. In fact, I just canceled my order with Deep Discount due to the news(I'll find all that stuff way cheaper here in the next few months).

If I have been aware of this in the past I didn't pay attention because I had cable. With my Dell box hooked up to the Internet now, I will likely try this first. Now I just need to get a wireless KB/M.

Judging from Dune HD, I'd guess it's going to be fairly poor by modern standards. Like you said though, it'll be better than the SD version and I bet I paid about the same price.

That's a shame. These movies are a giant leap above the Hercules and Clash of the Titans movies, and were the precursor to the modern fad of comic book movies. After Superman 2 it just turned into crap, but the first two movies really had a kind of magic to them, goofy as they are.

I don't know whether there is anything else I want. I guess I would buy some comedies in HD if they were $4. As for the stuff I've bought, I would not be surprised if their supplies depleted in the next month and then e-bay rapists took over.

The Season Finale of Sara Connor Chronicles is next week. Looks like they cranked out a total of 9 episodes. No early renewal notification has gone out that I know of, hopefully the show will get shopped around and the Sci-Fi channel will man up and pick it up along with Jericho. Like what they should have done with Firefly, Brimstone, G vs E, and a ton of others.

As it was intended to be a mid-season replacement, 9 episodes may be all that they intended to make. There may have been more, but who knows with the writer's strike. There's still a chance that it could be picked up for another season. Buffy the Vampire Slayer had a short first season, and then ran for 6 more years on two different networks.

I still think something like this would be perfect for the Sci-Fi channel, assuming they grow a pair
