Little Big Planet was not only outsold but outsold badly. I find it hilarious that Sony, after killing obscure titles left and right and putting small devs out of business, is now hoping an obscure title can save their horribly overpriced console. I'd rather my 360 break on me a fourth time than give Sony a dime, but I'm enjoying every minute of their downfall. |

It looks like Gears of War 2 more than tripled Little Big Planet's total sales in its first week. Resistance 2 almost matched its total sales in its first week. It doesn't even look like Resistance will end up being a system seller, much less Little Big Planet. Also, Valkyrie Chronicles opened at less than 40k for its first week according to VGCHartz. That indicates that it will go the way of Sega Rally Revo and Virtua Fighter 5. In three weeks time it'll be selling 5k a week and almost nobody will know it exists. Here's hoping for a 360 release. as for valkyria, i have a feeling its sales won't drop off that sharply. it's one of those games (like katamari damacy) that may sell more copies from word of mouth than anything else. But then again, it IS sega, so a $20 price tag by christmas is still a break even bet. |

and apparently sony has announced there will be no price cut this holiday season, so the 360 is going to keep increasing its lead (provided MS can pump out the units) |

The 2:1 sales in favor of the 360 is going to amount to a heckova lot in a month where the popular console can sell 750k. When the PS3 sells 70k and the 360 only sells 140k it's not a huge gap in the overall scheme of things, but if we're talking about a 250k margin or more that'll probably hurt Sony a little. |

well, with the economy the way that it is, the fact that Sony's system is TWICE as expensive as the 360 will probably be the deciding factor for a lot of buyers this holiday season. So I expect that gap to grow to far more than a 2:1 ratio - I predict that without a sony price cut, we'll be seeing a ratio of at LEAST 4 to 1 in favor of the 360 during december. It's fun to laugh as Sony continues to falter, despite their best efforts. |

It looks like you were right Ben. According to VGchartz, the 360 outsold the PS3 last week by almost 2.5 times. The ratio is growing as the holidays go on. |

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/littlebigplanet-sold-141-000-in-november LittleBigPlanet sold 141,000 in November Sales of the PlayStation 3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet were 141,000 units during November in the US, according to data from NPD reprinted by Gamasutra. During its debut month in October, the Media Molecule developed title shifted 215,000 copies, making it the eighth biggest-seller in the region behind other new releases Fable II and Fallout 3. The numbers will be disappointing for Sony during the two busiest retail months of the year, when software sales during November alone were up 11 per cent, to USD 1.31 billion. Other PlayStation 3 titles that outsold LittleBigPlanet during November were Activison's Call of Duty: World at War, Sony's Resistance 2 and Midway's Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. |

Man, that was fast. I knew it was coming since the PSP was one of the most hackable devices that I've ever seen. I was going to try Home out so that I could tell you about it since you said you were kinda interested in it, but it hasn't worked every time I try to use it. |

Yeah, I just like the whole "3D environment" thing they've got going. Back on PSO, I used to just walk around the lobbies(and also inside an actual game) chatting with people, instead of actually playing the game. I wish MS had something like this...and to be truthful, as they sat there and said that they *were not* going to do anything like Nintendo's Miis, I'm not counting a Home clone out just yet... Bel |

That's too bad...even if I won't ever use it. Could have meant great things for the MS's "let's copy anything popular" dev. team. ;) Bel |
