Can you run it?

A java-based controller that analyzes your system and tells you if you can run games from their huge-ass list. Kind of helpful if there's not a demo available...

Widescreen Gaming Forum and TigerDave:

http://tigerdave.com/

It's a list of games that allow for widescreen resolution(either by modifying the .cfg, forcing it or just simply choosing it in the options). I find it especially awesome as it shows you how to get older games to allow for widescreen resolutions.

A list of games to avoid like the plague.

2015 Tomshardware's hierarchy guide for CPUs. It looks like they finally didn't believe the hype about the Intel I7 series and ranked the FX series CPUs correctly. For your information the Athlon X4 860K Kaveri performs almost as well as the FX 8150.

yeah dude it does. It meets the minimum... minimum means it will run it doesn't mean it will run well. (My shitty pc can't run anything with a shader! )

Well, but read it again, where it says "Congratulations, your computer exceeds the minimum specification required to run this game."

That would imply that I could run it, and run it well...which is a lie. ;)

I usually take it to mean, you might be able to turn some of the settings up from the lowest. That's what you should be thinking when you're still running AGP hardware.

I've been too lazy to take my gaming pc back from XP 64 back to 32, especially if it means having to reinstall Mass Effect, where you only get 3 activations per CD to install the damn game. There's probably a crack out, I've only got a few achievements left I want to use in the game and unlock, when i'm ready to quit playing the game, I'll wipe my hard drive.
I'm thinking about what I want and what I need. I want a peaceful soul. I need a bigger gun

The framerate on Blacksite sucks on consoles too last I checked (it was a demo). It's not your computer, it's shitty programing. :)

I'd agree that it is shitty programming(people say it requires even more power than shitty Crysis), but the demo, on the 360, from what I saw it was a pretty smooth framerate. Granted, I only got to see two levels, but I didn't see any real issues.

With LC's help I finally found a list that tells you how the ATI and Nvidia cards compare...so you can look to see what your ATI Radeon X1950 is on the Nvidia side and vice verse.

I have been, and remain, non-sequitur
Every now and again I think maybe the internet can teach me something about how to make my PC faster. I'm almost always disappointed, but the likes of defraggler and spybot were good finds. Today I did a search and found this, and holy cow do I want to blast this guy for being an idiot and for his musical selection.

The Graphics Card Hierarchy posted in the OP stopped receiving updates this year. I found the new one and have updated the original post.
