It's definitely something else...and far off from what I was assuming it was going to be. I was guessing they'd try to redo the original series, but still use the old school 60's look and feel. Here, it appears they are doing sort of the "Enterprise" style, where it's supposed to be way earlier than TNG, but looks way better.

We'll see how it goes, I'm not ready to give up on it yet.

In other news, it appears they have released Season 2 of the original series, with the new special effects, on regular DVD. I can live with that. Even though it looked amazing on HD DVD, flipping the discs over to see how the SD content looked upscaled, it did really well. As I had an absolute blast going through Season 1 Remastered on HD DVD, I'll be getting this at some point down the line.
