Here are two pics of a Genesis cart case that I've had for a few years now, and would love to have about 20 more. http://whipassgaming.com/images/forumpics/GenesisCase1.jpg http://whipassgaming.com/images/forumpics/GenesisCase2.jpg If you EVER happen to see one of these, I will pay up to $10 for it, will pay for you to ship it to me, and will even slip you some dough just for doing it! Bel PS - I need to clean this thing off! I've got two of these things, and both haven't been used in years as they only hold 36 carts a piece...just a bit short on the 349 I own. ;) |

haha i remember those. They had something similar at the book & music exchange on washington avenue... don't know if it was sega branded or just a regular video storage case. I'll take a look next time I get out there. |

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! It's my dream to have around 10 or 15 of these things, so I can house all my carts. Bel |

Rats, I thought I had what you were looking for, but this is actually just a tray for an actual Genesis console with a bunch of slots for carts. It isn't the same thing. Let me know if you still want it or want to see pics of it, but I honestly cannot imagine using it for housing an actual Genesis console with games. I won't use it because it doesn't have enough room for a Sega CD or 32X. |

I managed to come across the N64 storage unit the other day. Was over at a local thrift shop, saw it out of the corner of my eye and about had a heart attack as I had originally thought it was the Genesis version. I wasn't going to get it, but then my buddy reminded me that I actually have a few N64 carts. ;) For those interested, it's a lot like the Genesis/SNES units, but is about two inches thinner and only holds 24 carts. Oddly enough, it looks like it will hold SNES carts as well...but I don't know have one to test that theory with. Bel |

Well, thanks to these forums I've come up with another unit! That makes 6, in total: Halfway to what I need to house all of my Sega carts! Thanks so much to all those who have helped me out, and all those who continue to help out by keeping their eyes open for these units! Bel |

I want to know what kind of square footage you'll be taking up with all 12 of these things, and I want to compare that to a friggin bookshelf like I originally suggested. ;) |

Well, to start, the cassette tape racks, the bookshelves and everything else that people have suggested were all good ideas...I didn't think any of them sucked...I just wanted to go with my original plan, which was the ALS storage units. They're just slick, I love them. Anyway, as for space, here are the dimensions: 15" Wide 5 1/4" Tall 1 1/4' Long Keep in mind that I stack them, so right now they all fit in the dimensions listed above(save for the height). Now, when I get all 12, which is what I need to hold all of my Sega carts, they'll take up 30 inches as I'll stack them side by side, six high. I made a video of the units, just to sort of show off what I have now and thank everyone who has helped me out(and continues to do so): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6zeH9Yn4Ag It's still "processing", but once done will be available in "HD", for those interested. Sorry about the shaky camera work...was using my girlfriend's HD camera/camcorder, which doesn't have compensation for that(forget what it's called). Anyway, it gets the job done in that you can see what the units are all about...and get a bit of kitty on the side. ;) Bel |

Those really are very slick. For what you're using them for a five foot tall by two foot wide space is better served with these than with a shelf. I didn't expect to headbutt bubsy though. |

Yeah, that camera/camcorder is really small, so I just hold it in my hand while pulling stuff out of the drawers, etc. It gives some extreme close ups, that's for sure. ;) Bel |

Just the quick, monthly post to let people know I am still looking for these units. I am up to six right now, so I only need another six to cover all 420 of my Sega carts. It's coming along nicely, and I wanted to say "THANKS!" to everyone who has been helping me out! Again, if anyone happens across one, or has one they like to get rid of just let me know! :) Bel |

Just the quick, kinda-monthly refresh on my request for the units, as well as thanking everyone who has helped out thus far. :) I've managed to come up with seven of these units so far, and only need about five more to cover all of my Sega carts. For more info, please view the first post in the thread here(links with pics and further info, etc). As always, if anyone has one they'd like to unload, please feel free to contact me via these forums, my personal email(on my site) or via AOL Instant Messenger(same username). I can offer up cash or items for trade(comics, games and just about everything else in between)... Thanks again to everyone reading and everyone who has helped me. :) Bel |
