I'm not sure what you mean again, but it was fun. I'll be watching the Sony conference too, I enjoy seeing them embarrass themselves. |

$249 for the PSP Go! Are they nuts? Does anybody really want something like this? -edit- MGS for PSP! ZOMG! It actually has Snake too! *Giggles with glee* -edit-edit- If they deliver on that kind of multiplayer online play, it'll actually be a good game. -Edit--Edit--Edit- PS3 video was nonsensical with it's multi screen display I could hardly see anything other than a bunch of "core" games that we've seen before. -Edit--Edit--Edit-Edit- Final Fantasy XIV, er Final Fantasy Online 2, PS3 exclusive the same year as the next legitimate sequel comes out on two platforms. Wow Sony, that's big news. Edited by sheath, Jun 2 2009, 02:16 PM.

This is worth its own post. The Sony dildo, complete with a glowing purple sphere on the end, wow. Quote: "Ooh you're dripping all over the wall now." Oh yeah. Quote 2: "We're going to step out of our comfort zone here." Yup Quote 3: "The kind of precision anton's giving here with the tip of that sword here is just crazy." Quote 4: "tickle tickle" Wow. |

I know I didn't talk much about Sony's conference, but I enjoyed it about as much as Microsoft's. Maybe a tad bit more, but still a great show from both. I think the X360 has the advantage when it comes to motion sensing technology. Project Natel is crazy. I think Sony had the advantage with the games. It's weird, even though God of War 3 was more of the same, I still loved every bit of that demo. As a result, this E3 was like Microsoft and Sony teaming to beat the crap out of Nintendo, as they were boring, lame, and only it's ending was the only thing keeping it from being a complete waste of my time. So my ratings are: Sony: B+ Microsoft: B+ Nintendo: D- The reason that neither Sony or Microsoft didn't get an a was either because something annoyed me of it didn't show anything that made me crap myself. Nintendo avoided an F when they showed the new Metroid game. That's all folks, now the waiting game begins. Edited by DarcSeven, Jun 2 2009, 02:30 PM.

Sony definitely sparked my imagination with their fuzzy tipped wand. And all the sequels coming out is certainly inspiring. Sorry to be rude here, but MS trashed both of them with its presentation alone, much less Natal. |

Oh, don't you want to haggle? ;) Seriously, what did you like about each conference. I honestly didn't see a game in any of them that caught my interest. I thought the general energy of the presentation was clearly on MS's side though, Sony and Nintendo seemed very subdued, probably because they had nothing to trump Natal. Games wise they were all failures in my book, sequel after sequel after popular franchise. I hope something comes out this year that interests me, outside of XBLA I mean. |

Games I'm interested in: (I need more information before I really want them) Red Steel 2 Splinter Cell Conviction Crackdown 2 Metal Gear Solid Rising Super Mario Galaxy 2 Uncharted 2 Metroid Other M Kingdom Hearts DS Assassin's Creed 2 Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Final Fantasy XIII Ratchet & Clank Future 2 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Muramasa: The Demon Blade Project Natal Sony's Dildo Things Games that if I don't get by the end of next year I'm gonna be pissed: Modern Warfare 2: The sequel to my 2007 Game of the Year can only be awesome... unless they fuck it up... which they shouldn't. Mass Effect 2: I really liked the first one despite it's flaws. If they've been dealt with, it should be great. Brutal Legend: I like Jack Black and Tim Schafer. That is all. God of War 3: Well I haven't played a bad one yet. I love all three I've played so far. Tekken 6: I love Tekken. No More Heroes: Desparate Struggle: The original was one of the few Wii games that didn't suck last year so, I really hope this one also is great and addresses the first ones problems. Oh crap there's only one new IP in this whole list. I can't explain that, it's just how it is. But this is actually much more than I thought I would be interested in. Honestly 2009's been good to me so far as long as I ignore the DS. :) And no, nothing trumped Natal, but it seems like something so far away. |

I can't blame you there, seeing anything I like is really my criteria as well. I just don't like first/third person shooters, RPGs, or popular franchises, so I was generally disappointed gameplay wise. If Natal delivers on that martial arts demo I will be *very* excited. |

Two more games piqued my interest last night. Batman: Arkham Asylum and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Kojima's somehow involved with Castlevania, but I imagine it will be closer to ZOE instead of MGS when it comes to direction. I saw the spider in the trailer, but as I did with Dante from Devil May Cry, it looks like I can go through with this guy regardless of that little screw up. |

I think Sony's legendary PR machine is officially broken. $250 for what is a recasing of an old handheld that doesn't play any of your existing game library. Then this?! Sony fans deserve Sony, but seriously, wake up. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/sonys-psp-go-ripping-off-the-consumer-pachter Sony's PSP Go "ripping off" the consumer - Pachter Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has said that Sony is deliberately ripping off consumers by pricing the new PSP Go at USD 249 in North America. He claimed the current PSP-3000, which supports a disc drive and packaged goods, is more expensive to build than the new model which supports purely digital content. "I'm sorry to say it, I don't want to get bad fan mail from the Sony fanboys, but Sony is ripping off the consumer until they sell a couple of million," said Pachter to GameTrailers. "Disc assembly for UMD costs more than 16GB of Flash does," he added. "So this new device doesn't cost them as much to make as the PSP-3000 and they've jacked the price up USD 80. And if consumers don't buy it then the price is going to come down. They're making a lot more money on the PSP Go than the PSP-3000." He also noted that both Sony and Microsoft announced new digital content delivery methods at E3 last week, suggesting these were more important than any game or hardware announcements at the show. "PSP Go is a game changer for digital delivery and yet they're still going to support the PSP-3000, they've got to keep the retailers happy. "This year's show is 'packaged goods are going away'. Half of all gaming purchases ten years from now are going to be digital. You can see it coming for the first time ever, the console manufactures are behind it," said Pachter. Earlier this week, Sony's Andrew House told GamesIndustry.biz that he didn't think the price of the PSP Go was too high, particularly in Europe where the unit will retail for EUR 249, because the region is "less price driven". |

It's a lot like the DSi...Nintendo should have had some sort of suit against them on that, just as Sony ought to have one for this. Like I said, it just amazes me that A) They get away with this on a consistent basis and B) Consumers just eat it up. "Wow, it has a camera!? Holy shit, where's my $200, honey get my wallet, we're getting three!". Bel |

I'm starting up the E3 topic with a bang. I don't know how the big 3 will do, but I;m already sold on at least one game right now. It's like they looked inside my head and made a game just for me. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Next up is Itagaki's new game... Devil's Third It looks interesting, but I have to remember who's making the game. The difficulty's probably gonna hurt me. Both of those look pretty original. For Scott Pilgrim (should I know who that is) I don't like the NES soundtrack or the Nintendo DS/Teen Titans art style, but I do look like they put some thought into level design and that they made a real beat-em up. Devil's Third looks hardcore to be sure, but Itagaki always manages to simplify complicated gameplay ideas like running on a wall and shooting behind you at the same time. It will be interesting to find out whether that was Itagaki himself, or somebody else at Team Ninja that always made gameplay make sense. |

In case anybody hasn't already found it, here is the Xbox 360's press conference live from GT. Call of Duty Black Ops looks sufficiently forgiving with the aiming and super focused on the cinematic survival horror scenes. Hmm, skipped ahead, MS bought Call of Duty timed exclusivity through 2012. -edit- An hour later and I haven't seen anything that impressed me enough to write about. That could just be me though. The Kinect games look casual enough to get people to goof around with it, but I'd bet it'd have to be included with Natal, er, Kinect for less than $100 for it to even have a shot. I do have to say that silly camera can definitely read your skeletal movements and that makes for some interesting new game concepts. I'm getting out of the house for a little bit. -edit- Okay, I'm back, and Ubisoft's Kinect dance game, Dance Central, was presented in a stroke of genius. Somebody I can only presume everybody knows showed dance moves everybody probably wishes they could perform, and then an obvious geek showed how the game can teach you to do the same. That has to be the performance of the show, watch it if you can at about 80% to the end. Edited by sheath, Jun 14 2010, 02:40 PM.
