I'm sorry I haven't updated. I got caught up doing something after the conference. It was nice to see Gears 3, Halo Reach and Metal Gear Rising in action. I'll keep an eye on them. I thought they presented Kinect very well for the most part. I sat my mom in front of the conference and she definitely wants it. I likes that Dance Central presentation as well. They did that one right. Not bad song choices either. The acting throughout the conference was horrendous though. The live chat part was painful to watch. From EA: Bulletstorm's on my list now. Bonus points for Steve Blum. Edited by DarcSeven, Jun 14 2010, 04:57 PM.

Oh my god! How the fuck did I miss this!? Dust's new trailer. EEEEEEEEE!!! Edit: Rayman returns in Rayman Origins. It look...high... Ghost Recon Future Warfighter looked sweet. A Michael Jackson game from Ubisoft? Eh? Last edit for this post: Microsoft got shit on by Screwattack, Kotaku, G4 and a lot of other people. I haven't seen this many pissed off folks since E3 '08. Okay, I might get another serving of rape with the 3DS. That Kid Icarus trailer was freakin' sweet. That Zelda presentation was terrible, though. |

Watching the Sony conference now. They've asked the audience to put on glasses twice in the first ten minutes! I've seen Killzone 3, which um, looks like a first person shooter with jetpacks. Sorcery demonstrates significant lag and lacking accuracy in Move controls. I'd bet they get some of that ironed out before launch. Hmm, so did Tiger Woods, and more importantly they're launching this thing in September. I guess lag free gaming isn't a priority for "gamers". Who is this dorky actor with all of the silly PS2 generation references anyway? Playstation Plus, "you'll own the content for the duration of your subscription ... I repeat, you will own the content for the duration of your subscription." Tretton summed the whole thing up perfectly. The entire presentation was centered around Sony's "loyal Playstation fans." It looks like they're not interested in anything but keeping their existing userbase happy, a userbase that is defecting on a regular basis. Edited by sheath, Jun 15 2010, 03:06 PM.

I noticed that too. Fuck that. This conference sucked. It was so fucking boring. I'm happy with Twisted Metal and seeing Kung Lao kill Reptile. That's it. Where the fuck was The Last Guardian. I'm so pissed off right now. I just got God of War 3 in the mail and I'm thinking about sending it back. |

I'd say that PS3 is officially the new 3DO. Sony doesn't give a crap about games and never did. As long as they make measurable inroads on the whole entertainment experience device they've always been focused on they can lose developers, exclusive games, "core" and casual gamers without breaking a sweat. -edit- It also seems that Nintendo is barely managing to hold its fans long lasting interest in the same five games, plus a few revivals. I couldn't really tell how they were marketing the 3DS. It looks like it's supposed to make the DS look cutting edge with PS2 quality graphics. I'm wondering how that will play out against the iPad/Phone and that miserable failure of a Playstation portable. Edited by sheath, Jun 15 2010, 05:43 PM.

At least I can take solace that games are still coming. Even Nintendo brought be something after they're past two failures. I'm posting up a vlog on the Big 3 soon. I'm calmed down now, so it's not angry and pathetic like it could've been. My favorite things were the Dust trailer, a Mortal Kombat fatality and (somehow) the 3DS. My most anticipated games are now Bulletstorm,, Mortal Kombat, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Dust, Sonic 4, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Kid Icarus. Did you see anything that avoided a humbug for you? ;) Edit: http://ds7gamestalk.blogspot.com/2010/06/e3-10-impressions.html Edit again: Just realized that I put the wrong game. I meant Deus Ex, not Halo. Edited by DarcSeven, Jun 25 2010, 01:59 PM.

I haven't had a chance to take a look at the individual companies presentations yet. Will look at that now and post some thoughts. I am generally disappointed that the so called "big three" are utterly dependent on franchises, and that all of the press organizes the Expo vids based on the console.. Not that my opinion matters mind you, I've spent close to $1000 a year on gaming for the last ten years, but none of it was on the newest wiz bang stuff that E3 is promoting. I had to dig hard for the Sonic 4 trailer and only found it on the 360 itself. Supposedly it was due to release yesterday but it's still not available for download. The trailer didn't show me much either, maybe I'm supposed to get all giddy when I see and hear familiar Genesis sound effects. Marvel vs Capcom 3 looks sufficiently SFIVified. Hopefully that means I'll get to play it on my HTPC for $10 about six months after it launches. I scanned all of the gameplay videos on Gametrailers and found nothing remarkable there. I'm going back into my hole of posting screenshots and color counts for games from 1991 now. Edited by sheath, Jun 16 2010, 07:03 AM.

With SSFIV in doubt for a PC release, I wouldn't hold your breath. For some reason, even though the PC would have been the PERFECT platform for the simple upgrade that SSFIV is, they don't seem to want to release it at all(though there is rumor of it hitting *next* summer). The PC version could simply have been a paid upgrade, downloaded through Games for Windows Live...would have ensured that piracy would have been exceedingly low and the only cost would have been bandwidth and server storage space. A 2GB download is a piece of piss on the PC...what a wasted opportunity. What really kills me though, is that because of this, MvsC3 will probably never hit the PC...which means if we want to play it we have to use that shitty-ass D-pad on the 360 controller...or pay out the ass for some controller that's still nowhere near as good as the Saturn's. That was my entire reason for getting SFIV on the PC. It wasn't because it could potentially look better due to better video cards, it wasn't all the mods that allow you to tweak every aspect of the game...it was so I could use my Saturn controller to play the game. It plays like whipped miracle with that thing...spread if over some honey wheat bread and you'll shit gold as you kick the fuck out of Seth. All of that down the drain though... Bel |

I should probably make a Mortal Kombat thread. Anyway, here's the latest trailer showcasing everyone's favorite psychotic clone, Mileena. http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/01/14/mortal-kombat-mileenas-story-video |
