So say they all. I think this is reviewer code for go watch it. Maybe people like to go see movies that they think they're going to hate?

No, it's more like "Proceed with Caution". Honestly, even though I liked the Decepticons getting their ass kicked by Optimus & crew, the movie gave me a headache. The humor was stupid this time, and I hated the twins. It okay at best, I was exhausted by the end of it.

Hmm, I thought for sure they were going to try to pull a stupid plot twist like Optimus dieing again in this one. Revenge of the Fallen seemed to imply this movie would really fall on the side of the Decepticons, but I guess audiences can't handle that kind of turn nowadays. Are the incredibly lame pop culture references more or less prevalent in this movie than in the first one? Micheal Bay is already on my list of industry dupes, I don't need much to encourage me to not bother watching this one.

They advertised Naruto, Mountain Dew, GMC, Bad Boys II (Stupid), and President Obama. The twins were a ghetto caricature. I think the pop culture refrences were off the charts this time.

*Spoiler*

Optimus did die. Megatron impaled him through his back. Sam revives him near the end of the movie, and Optimus goes back to kicking ass.

Yeah, that's kinda lame. Let me ask you this. Does Optimus even seem to stand a chance against Megatron in this movie? I mean, he just really got kicked around like he was bumblebee or something in the first one. He is supposed to be stronger than Megatron.

Oh no, he kicks Megatron's ass in this movie twice. The only reason the got killed is because he fought multiple Decepticons at once and got overwhelmed. He put up a real fight though this time, I was really happy about how strong he was this time.

I just saw Transformers 2, and I will see it again many more times. Not because it is anywhere near a work of art, or even a great film, but because it is well made and I enjoyed it. The themes are not pop-culture and fighting robots as they were in the first movie. Whoever crafted this story has embedded the concepts of heroism, sacrifice, postmodern disillusionment and evil into the similitude of the first movie. I suspect that these themes are what the reviews are complaining about more than the story itself. Pop-culture references notwithstanding, this movie has the same worth as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings do in imparting the age old responsibilities of one living being to another in contrast to pure maleficence. I cannot stress enough that Transformers 2 is not a great film, but it uses all of the queues and tricks of a great film to achieve a moral and worthwhile story.

I didn't much care for it, but then again I didn't much care for part one that much either(mostly just own the HD DVD version of it for that awesome online content featuring other Transformers). Both are simply "alright" imo. What hurt part 2 so much, for me, was the goofiness. The two stooges and then the older guy were just corny and really hurt the overall film. Still, I'd probably pick it up on DVD at some point down the line...cheap.

I really am in a bad mood today.

Remember when I came back from seeing Max Payne and I gave it a C, but later on I gave it an F after I got all my thoughts together for the movie. Well guess what happened with me and Transformers 2. Let's just say that Revenge of the Fallen and Dragonball Evolution are battling it out in my head for Worst movie of the year. One destroyed my childhood and one caused me pain. Then again I did see Tropic Thunder this year and I fucking hated that too. I don't know. I'm gonna check out Where the Wild Tings Are this weekend. I still have hope for it since it Astro Boy sounds like it's not gonna get the job done unfortunately.

I warmed up to TF2 a bit and now like it more than the original. I still don't like the Gyver TF designs, but the story dipped in to the heroism the series was supposed to promote much more than the first CGI movie did. With that said, the new Star Trek and Terminator are better movies in my book. I'll always have a soft spot for movies with heroes who fight well and pay the ultimate price though.
