Upon request, I created a new "Movies" section in the "Misc" section of the forums. :)

The first time I saw Resident Evil: Apocalypse I was very skeptical. I saw it opening day at Grapevine Mills and it showed on the ticket as being rated PG-13. After seeing it though I knew that was wrong. It is actually rated "R." All things considered I really liked the movie. It gave me hope for Blade 3 and helped me forget the crap that was Alien Vs. Predator. That's not to say that this is the greatest movie ever made. There's quite a bit that falls short. It should have been longer. I don't know about other people here, but part of what I judge a movie on is its runtime. I want a decent length movie if I'm going to pay $7.50 for it. 94 minutes was the runtime. There is a lot of action in this movie. If you want to see a good action movie this week go see it. It has that and a decent story. Milla Jovovich has never looked hotter, and the whole atmosphere of the movie is arcade-style. As well as this movie is doing in the box office I'd look for another installment in about 2 years. I haven't seen a word about it yet, but I'll keep looking.
Just go ahead and believe it's just madness.

RE:A was alright...I thought it was a decent progression of the new movie-RE storyline, but as an action movie...I don't know, seemed overly cut to me. Most of the fighting scenes consisted of someone throwing a punch, then the camera cutting, the zombie flying back, the camera cutting, repeat, repeat, repeat. Now, I understand that Milla isn't a martial arts expert, but fuck, even Linden Ashby and Bridgette Wilson learned enough to make it look like they knew, kinda, what they were doing...

All in all, like I said, it was alright...it's just not the hardcore action film the trailer made it out to be.

It was cut quite a bit. If they were going to make it a R rating then they should have gone for a hard R. It would have been really nice for it to get violent and bloody. Not the quick shot of zombies munching out.
Just go ahead and believe it's just madness.

I think a lot of the R rating came from her being completely nude at one point in the film...;)

I'm good, but I'm not that good...")

That part on the preview always cracks me up. Just the fact that they just cut away from showing Mila's crotch and then that's when that girl says that line. That was great editing. ")

'ello all,

Added a new general gaming discussion forum, and moved some topics into it just to get it started. It's pretty much, like it states, for any misc. gaming thing that's not covered by the other categories, or for posts that involve all of them...and just any general "tech" stuff you may want to discuss.

'ello all,

Just a quick note: I've moved Something Awful's AMDB Database to the Movies section of the forums. Don't know why I didn't originally put it there...but there you have it. It's been updated with the newest release...fucking hilarious too!

'ello all,

Scott has requested a Turbo section in the forum, so I'm currently working with him to get that set up. It should be up in the next couple of days.

Like Sine before him, if ya'll want to new sections or additional sections in already particular areas, just ask. :)

Thanks,

'ello all,

Thought I'd make a quick, "pinned" post about the subject:

If there is ever anything you'd like to see, any new section or addition to a section that already exists, all you need to do is let me know. I'm not really opposed to setting any of it up for ya'll, even if it is for a system I don't own, or something I don't know much about. Just shoot me a PM or post here in the Suggestions section of the forums and we'll start on it!

Thanks to various members of the WAG Forums, we've seen stuff like the PS2, SNES and Turbo-Grafx sections added in. :)

Whoa, Turbo section sweet! I love the TG-16. I don't know if three subcatagories are needed though! ;)

Well, Scott was wanting to seperate it out via developers, to really get down into it all. As I don't have a TG16(anymore), I'm going to let him(and others, if they want) shape that forum. I'm still chatting with Scott about it, but it should be open by Friday. I'll try to get the ball rolling with some thoughts on Double Dragon II and Dracula X(played via Magic Engine). :)

I've probably got a dozen TG games and they all rock (well maybe not Keith Courage), so I definitely want to give some thoughts as well. I was just kidding about the subcatagories thing. Maybe we could give so love to such underprevilaged as the 3dO, Jaguar, Jag CD, CD-i and CD-32 next...jk. :P I actually do own a 3dO and would like a Jag, as far as the CD-i and CD-32 I would take them if they were free.

Though I've owned, like, three TG16 units over the years, I just could never really get into it. To me, it just seemed like a slightly more powerful SMS/NES but not quite a Genesis/SNES. The game selection is ok though, there are definitely some titles I really dig. Even the CD-based games don't do a whole lot for me, though some like DD2 just blow me away. That's just me though... :)

I don't know, maybe I really could start up a TG16 review section. It could be a mix of me reviewing stuff via Magic Engine, and maybe you and Scott doing some on the actual hardware. I don't know, just a thought...

If you don't dig the TG, thats ok, its ok to hate...let it out, like you do on Eiji, ha! Just kidding what an ass that Eiji is. Looks like he crawled back in his cave though thankfully.

Oh, yeah that would be cool, Military Madness, Bonk, Blazing Lazers, JJ & Jeff, the list goes on...who doesn't like Bonk?

Oh, he'll come back, that ego of his will never be able to let go until Scott and I not only buy PS2s, but proclaim it to the best thing under the sun(until the $600 PS3 shows). ;)

Bonk was good, it was one of the games I kept when I sold my original unit(along with SplatterHouse). After I sold off my second(or third, I can't remember) the guy who originally sold me the first one asked to borrow SH, I never saw it again. :(

Submit, Bel, submit. I have no doubt you will get one...eventually, theres just way too much good stuff for you to miss, just like PSX. I'm sure if you hated Sony that much you wouldn't touch the prodigal son console that started it all. Eiji just particularly hates anything thats not Japanese, funny thing is the guys from Canada! Its not right to hate your neighbor like that. ;)

Oh, I forgot...play any Toyko Bus Guide 2 yet? :P Ha

The thing I really like about Bonk is all the games are really different, apart from jumping around and kicking ass! You can scale up vertical walls...with your teeth, its nuts.

Yeah, bummer. Isn't there a port of SH1 somewhere...I know I have SH3 for the Genny and I believe it has SH2 also. Not sure about the first game, might be exclusive to the Turbo.

I really dig the PSX...it took me a while to get one, but it was more due to the fact that I was piss-poor for the longest time rather than not just being interested in it. I still need to get my ass in gear and get the PS-X-Changer so I can attempt something like Tobal 2.

Not yet, I'm still freaking out to this:

http://www.atcsimulator.com/

I shit you not, there are people who are actively, and very seriously into that bullshit. Can you imagine? "Hey man, we're gonna get a few beers tonight, you coming?", "Naw man, gotta get home and direct some simulated air traffic!!!" ;)

The whole "teeth" thing just cracked me up, it's just beyond goofy, but so good at the same time. ;)

The first one is Turbo and Arcade only, but Magic Engine runs it, so no big deal.
