Yay! Oh shit I forgot, I suck at the 2D Sonic games... Oh well, time to start practicing. Why it's being released in episodes, I have no idea. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/106/1066585p1.html Project Needlemouse is Sonic 4 SEGA's mascot goes 2D in episodic game for all consoles. by Martin Robinson, IGN UK UK, February 4, 2010 - Sonic is returning to his 2D roots as Project Needlemouse is revealed to be Sonic the Hedgehog 4, a direct continuation of the 16 bit games that's coming to all major consoles this Summer. In a recent interview SEGA announced that it's to be an episodic, downloadable title that will follow on from 1994's Sonic & Knuckles and feature 2D play borne out with 3D visuals. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will sport 1080p support, while the Wii version will make use of motion controls. Sonic has already been confirmed as the only playable character in the game, and his old school moveset is joined by the homing attack of the more recent games. Sonic the Hedgehog 4's music is also to tip its hat to Sonic's past, reworking old themes and styles. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is subtitled Episode 1 – though there's no word on when the other episodes would land. We'll bring you more from SEGA as we get it. |

This is going to get moved to Anything A Gaming. I can't wait to play these. I guess I should play that Sonic CD remix homebrew game in the meantime. |

Kotoku.com is reporting that Sonic 4 may only be released digitally and may not see a disc based release. I hope the game is going to be good because it sure is awfully hard to sell a digital copy. |

i love buying digital copies when there's a good reason to (such as the physical version being $400 and the digital version being $8). Virtual Console has been my best friend for "rare" old games. |

That's Green Hill Zone, or whatever, from Sonic 1. The dork playing apparently doesn't know how to press down when an enemy appears from the right. This is it man! The "3D" version of Sonic 1 we've been pining for since they recreated the Green Hill Zone in SA2 is being released instead as a 2D game. |

I bought Sonic 4, and tried Fan Remix recently. Fan Remix is nothing but a demo of remixed Sonic 2 levels, and it runs at a sub 20FPS on my dual core HTPC! Sonic 4 is an entirely new Sonic game that plays a lot like Sonic Adventure 1 in 2D. I'm at the last boss right now, who is like Sonic 2's epic final boss but with more modes after you beat the Sonic 2 pattern. The Sonic zealots and most of the Sega-16 staff hate Sonic 4, but so far I haven't found their complaints valid. |
