I really liked Spider-Man 3, it was fun...but I know I am in the minority on that. The Bond films, oddly enough I can't stand *any* of the other ones, but Casino Royale and possibly this new one, I really dig'em. That's just me though.

As soon as I can get my other PC set up, I can hook my old PC up to HDTV fulltime, then grab all of Wang's Blu-Ray rips(he's gotta have over 100 of them) and enjoy what the BDA owes me. ;)

How could you not like Goldeneye? One of the greatest console FPS's ever was based on it. My opinion of some of them have changed over the years, but my favorites are still Dr. No, Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy who Loved me, Goldeneye, Never Say Never Again, Octopussy, Living Daylights. Casino Royale was good for the most part, I thought the poker stuff slowed down the movie too much though.

All of the older Bond movies, before Casino Royale, they just seemed so goofy, I could never get in to it.

I just like Bond movies in general, I haven't seen one I disliked. Yes, that includes Die Another Day. ;)

I think Live and Let Die and that last Brosnan one with Hally Berry (sp?) had to take the cake. I pretty much liked the first to Peirce Brosnan movies, and the Conary movies.

It seems like the crappiest bond flicks always had the best opening songs. I didn't like Live and Let Die much either, but at least it had Jane Seymour playing the tarot card reader.

My wife and I are watching the original Battlestar Galactica series right now. I even had to comment with my wife in the room how attractive Jane Seymore was back then. None of today's teenie bopper chicks can hold a candle to her.

for example...

In an interview with Gamasutra, Gamestop CEO Dan DeMatteo said Gamestop might have some problems keeping the Xbox 360 and the Wii in stock...

not a word about problems with PS3 shortages.

A little over 1/3rd of the way down the page is a section titled Gen/Gen Industry Growth/Losses. I wish I could cut and paste the chart in here, you'll all just have to take a look. The gist of the article is that this generation, because of the Wii mainly, and that the Xbox 360 is selling slightly better than the Xbox, is trouncing the PS2 generation by a wide margin. All the while the PS3 is falling impossibly far behind PS2 sales.

http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=2567

"In 100 weeks, the pace which Wii is ahead of Game Cube is already more than the number of Game Cubes sold in its entire shelf life. At 100 weeks, Microsoft began to see Xbox 360 begin to break a bit more sharply from the Xbox pattern, and subsequent weeks show (which we have for 360 but not the others since it launched in 2005 and not 2006) that the growth compared to Xbox is a real trend and not a fluke (see the image below). The red line is PS3 sales relative to PS2 sales by week of availability in each region, and the trend is certainly not good. It’s not so much a matter of PS3 doing terrible, but rather that the closer we get to the peak of PS2 in 2002 to 2004, without a PS3 explosion, the further behind the platform is going to fall. Until, or unless that red line downward begins to flat line, there is less and less chance that PS3 will get anywhere near PS2 sales. "

Destroy All Humans PS3 title canned

THQ has announced it has cancelled the PlayStation 3 version of the upcoming title, Destroy All Humans! Path of Furon, over "development issues", but said the title would make its release date on December 1 for the Xbox 360.

The company's confirmation, that the title would now be an Xbox360 exclusive, was given to Shacknews after earlier reporting that the trailer for Sandblast's game no longer made reference to the PS3 version and a number of online retailers had removed the title's listing from their catalogues.

This is the second PlayStation title cancellation for the series this year, with the PlayStation 2 version of Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed scrapped in January.

Sandblast saw an unspecified number of staff axed from the development studio earlier this year, alongside 30 jobs cuts at THQ's Rainbow Studios.

It looks to me like the industry is going the same way as the original movie industry. I don't want to see all of these developers conglomerated into a half a dozen companies. Then again, virtually every developer that I used to love has died to me already anyway.

Black Friday sales guestimates. Sony "last but not least". How does that work anyway?

http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=2604

As expected, the big winner during last week was Nintendo. According to our early estimates, over 1.7 million Wii and DS units were sold last week in the Americas (with DS selling more than Wii), eclipsing the 1 million units of Nintendo hardware sold during the same period last year. This represents around $300 million in sales with a similar amount grossed for software. Top software performers were Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Rock Band, Wii Music, New Super Mario Bros, Brain Age and Nerf-N-Strike.

Microsoft will also be pleased with their performance last week, over half a million Xbox360s were sold with around half of those being the $199 Arcade SKU. Strong software performers were Call of Duty: World at War, Gears of War 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2.

Last but by no means least, Sony saw some good increases for black friday with PS3 selling around 225,000 units and PSP managing to move slightly more (around 275,000). PS2 also performed well on around 175,000 units. Strong software performers were LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Call of Duty: World at War and Guitar Hero: World Tour.

So overall that is around 2.9 million units of hardware sold compared to just over 2 million for Thanksgiving week last year. It seems that price is king in 2008 and with the current financial situation the big winners for the holidays will be Wii, DS and Xbox360 Arcade - assuming of course that manufacturers can cope with demand!

Stay tuned for more news and finalised figures when we have them.

In this situation, when you're comparing sales figures, it doesn't.

Sony is last; they sold the least.

And I'm loving every second of it.

It looks to me like your PS3 is going to be worth about half what it is in less than three months. If I saw such a sure price change for the 360 I'd sell it and buy it back later. This may also protect you from the Playstation's 4 year itch.

nah - i got a 60 gigger, and used at that. with the full backwards compatibility, i don't think they will drop in price, like ever.

i'm digging the "virtual memory card" thing though - especially for PS1 games.

Yeah, I have to admit that the PS3 is a very good PS1 player, and yours isn't bad as a PS2 either. The biggest problems is that it's fricken huge and you can't stack anything on it.

yes, it's huge, but i have it in a tv cart thing where there wouldn't really be room to stack anything on top of it anyway.

My Sega CDX is on the shelf above it though, and actually sees more gaming use.

Right now the PS3 sees more use as a space heater than anything else (just turn on the folding@home program and watch the room warm up).

I especially enjoyed popping in something like Wipeout and seeing Sony fans see all that dithering for the first time. Man I still remember Joe Ottoson swearing I was making it up.
