Ok, I'm not sure if ya'll know/remember/ever saw, but in the Sega Logo Fun! Project, the gifs for the Game Gear and Sega Master System don't run at full speed in Internet Explorer...or, at least, I didn't think they did. Some new info has made me question this, so I thought I'd see if anyone was up for me asking a quick favor. The Favor: Check the GG and SMS sections of the SLF!P in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, and let me know the results. From what I've seen, on *every* PC I've ever tested it on, the gifs run at full speed in Firefox, and about a fourth of the original speed in IE. I don't know why, but I think it has something to do with the way IE handles gifs with a high amount of frames, running with such a short delay between said frames(just a guess). Anyway, here are the sections: Game Gear Sega Logo Fun Master System Sega Logo Fun You can be on Windows, Mac, Linux, whatever, just so long as you have both Firefox and IE installed(and, if you want, you can test it in other browsers as well and let me know of the results. I know Safari, at some early revision, had issues with the gifs as well but I just haven't gotten around to re-testing it after updating the browser). If you could, just provide me with whether or not they ran at full speed for you and what OS and processor speed you're using(if you don't know, no big deal). I would really appreciate it, Thanks! Yeah, that's what I figured. I think whoever gave me the info about it running at full speed in IE just didn't have anything to compare it to, and thought that the slow-ass speed it was running at was just what it was supposed to be doing(despite my little note at the top of the page). I appreciate it, ya'll! :) Bel |

I just tried out the GIF's in Google Chrome just for kicks. They're about as slow as IE was. |

You know, I really don't care about IE users...but now it's starting to concern me that *every* browser other than Firefox is displaying this issue. Makes me wonder if FF is actually rendering it incorrectly and, thus, faster. The thing that holds me up is that when you view the gifs in Gif Movie Gear, IrfanView and any other image software, they run fine. I don't know what to make of it... Bel |
