Congress has voted and approved, on April 20, 1836, to create the Wisconsin Territory in the northwest of the nation. The capital city is to be Belmont though due to its inadequacy, it is supposed it will be moved in the coming years most likely to the city of Madison that is still under construction.

June 15, 1836

Arkansas is admitted to the Union as the 25th State of the United States of America.

After much heated debate, Congress has opted to disperse the federal surplus for the year between the US states and federal territories based on their population for the use of infrastructural improvement and economic development. While many argue this gives too much power to the federal government and is not explicitly part of the government's duties in the Constitution, the bill passes by a narrow majority. About $230,000,000 is expected to be paid out after the government makes planned expenditures.
