What is a scene exchange? -A scene exchange is an interesting way to expand your writing, by shifting yourself out of your own comfort zone. -It is an exchange of short stories, where one author picks up on a theme from his/her partners submission, and replies with a short story with that particular theme in mind. This theme can be the genre, the style, a mood... anything you gain from reading the piece. How it works: - Put yourself down in the 'scene exchange partner thread,' expressing that you are seeking a partner, and you are accepting PM's. - Once you find a partner, open up a topic entitled [your name vs partners name] - Post your original piece, it can be about absolutely anything! - Your partner will pick up on a particular theme, then reply with that them in mind. (Refer to above info) - Your partner will then create his/her own original piece, of which you have to pick up on a particular theme and the cycle repeats. Notes: -You can comment each other between the exchange, and expect others to comment midway through. Please do not duplicate anything you have already posted on this site in the scene exchanges, it sort of defeats the object of the exercise. - Feel free to join as many exchanges as you see fit, the only limit is your imagination. -Finally, have fun! |
