Blart by Dominic Barker
A Book Review

He didn't want to save the world. This is the very premise for Barker's story Blart, in which a great wizard announces to a boy whose whole life has thus so far revolved around pigs "you'll be a hero, boy." While many people can only dream of saving humanity and the world as it is known, Blart is not interested. He does not want to go out there and have glorious adventures, but to stay back on his grandfather's farm and rear pigs. Fortunately for the readers Blart doesn't have much choice, especially when he's being carried over the shoulder of a wizard and his grandfather is gleefully counting a good amount of gold.

And thus begins the adventures of Blart; hilarious, exciting and dare it be said brilliant.

Written to be funny, and completely different from the usual "boy saves world" adventures, Blart is an interesting read that grips the reader giving them plenty of laughs along the way. While maintaining its own unique story line, it manages to include the usual ingredience of wizards, warrirors, princesses and dwarves, pure evil and dangerous creatures.

Recommended to readers of all ages; Blart will be sure not to disappoint.
