Telepathy, Telekinesis / Empathy
Sunshine broke over the gleaming lake as day found it's way into the resting world. Alix, however, had long been sitting in her location no coming light . Never much one for sleep, she found the picnic tables near the lake made a perfect sort of place to simply.. listen. The boat house sat just nearby as she watched the oncoming daylight. At this rate.. she'd miss breakfast.. but she didn't mind. Next to the grandness of the lake, she looke dso small so frail. Hardly imaginable the things this girl could have done.

It was going to take getting used to- that much had been clear from the instant she'd arrived into the gates. But, she had to admit- a bed that was real and a shower that didn't involve a clever ploy to get into the motel 8 was more than welcoming. So, she settled in as best as possible. She had discovered the library, and after several hours of wandering the place in wonder (without having to use telepathy to 'hide') she'd found her way outside, and down the path that lead to the Breakstone Lake Boat house.

In a way, she was more comfortable outside. It was still an adjustment- this new home, these new thoughts and emotions that entered into her mind, even the colors of the place were so different.. so much more rich than what she was used to. And the students.. well, while she was quite aware that she was just the same as them- a mutant- she was different. She could sense it, and to be honest.. it startled her.

Quietly she leaned back, curly black and white hair glowing in the dim light of the coming sun. here.. she looked so different than just a few days ago. Cleaner, more pleasant.. more relaxed. The changes the place had were already clear.

Evvy was snuggled in a makeshift 'bed', wrapped comfortably in the limbs of a tree a few meters away from the beach. Her pale green eyes reflected the early morning light as she gazed upon the lake below. Her mind was sleepy and confused. Why had she fallen asleep outside? She had a bed, didn't she? Then why... her sleep-fogged mind almost immediately woke up. Her mind tried to avoid the thought that had cleared the foggieness away. She was in a tree. Whatever she had done that for, she couldn't remember. At all. But that explained why she had fallen asleep there. Climbing up a tree, she was fine, and quite happy doing it. Climbing down, however... she froze with terror. How high am I? her mind whimpered, as she forced herself to look. Her breathing became slightly unsteady.

The tree, she wasn't quite sure what it was, swayed slightly in the breeze and she bit her lip. A sense of panic was rising in her like a tide. Attempting to stop her panic attack as it began, she closed her eyes and linked her mind with the tree. Feeling its deep roots. Be one with the tree, her mind quipped and Evelyn giggled nervously. Now, to get down... her brother would be worried if she didn't come to breakfast, he'd come looking for her. She had to get down, somehow. Without getting untangled from the branches that cradled her, protected her, because then the wind could just pull her away and make her fall.

Realizing that her eyes were still closed, she opened them hesitantly and loosened her grip on the branch around her. A little focus, and it unwrapped itself slightly. Then she slipped a foot, and she clung the branch that stopped her fall and lost control of her fear as in enveloped her mind.

Quietly, Alix's gaze shifted to the tree, studying silently as she stood, relaxation and silence forgotten as she moved closer to the tree. ::It's alright.. don't get scared.. I can help..:: She nodded- almost fervently as she looked up at the tree.

Fear was always an overwhelming emotion, and out here.. where it was rather quiet and relaxed telepathically.. well, her fear stood paramount in her receptive mind, forcing Alix to take action. To do something to stop it.

::just.. relax. You have to relax.. before I can help you.:: Alix nodded softly, raising her hand as she used empathy to help calm her. Teleknesis, meanwhile, enveloped the younger mutant softly.

"O-kay," Evvy replied uncertainly, her voice one of one nearly overwhelmed. The girl's body visably trembled as she got herself under control.

Evelyn relaxed slightly as the tide of fear receded. A memory, of being dangled by her ankles out a window, so high above the ground, was shoved into the back of her mind where she could hopefully forget it. She faintly noticed a stinging sensation on her palms and one of her cheeks where the bark scratched her. It was something to focus on, that and the girl's -voice?- rather than where she was. Or rather, where she wasn't, which was the ground, and which she would definately hit if she fell. Realizing where her mind was going again, Evvy bit her tongue just hard enough to be distracting. Focus on that. On breathing, and the currents of the air... still she trembled slightly.
