Somehow, Kelrian had managed to get most of his clothing dirty in less than a week. He had been at a complete loss as to why, until he remembered -faintly- all the times he tripped and slipped in the mud, and the time that he actually purposely jumped in a mud puddle. And the time that he came into the room slightly covered in mud, only to trip and land on the small pile of clothes that he had laid out in the morning when he was deciding what to wear.... the thin young man sighed. Okay, he was a complete klutz. So there he was, sitting impatiently on the bench, watching the washer as if he were trying to make time go by faster. Since that was not in his list of powers, it was completely futile and served only to make him more restless. Twitching slightly, he fidgeted where he sat, not noticing that his hair was growing again by several inches and his carefully sharpened nails by a centimeter. A bored Kel was a twitchy, annoying, frustrated Kel, not to mention with no output for his energies his regen powers went wacky. Finally he hopped up onto the bench and began pacing. And at the same time an irritating song that his sisters liked to bother with when they were kidsbegan repeating itself in his mind and he hummed the tune without thinking.

A small, rather impish looking girl wandered into the room, as she was exploring the various parts of the institute that the students had access to. Her green-flecked hazel eyes looked around the room, and nodded when she realized that it was a laundry room. Well, now she knew where it was. Then she noticed the older boy pacing on the bench, and wondered why she didn't notice him earlier. He wasn't the kind of person that went unnoticed easily. His clothes were outrageous, his hair long and wild, and well he was pacing on the bench as if he would explode otherwise. Which wasn't quite impossibe, perhaps, this being the Institute of 'gifted' children... Evelyn wondered whether she should introduce herself or back away slowly.

Kel saw something move from the corner of his eye, and turned suddenly to face it. He was relieved to see that it was only a small, somewhat cute, girl. However, he was not relieved to find himself falling off the bench from his sudden turn and landing on his face. "Ow..." he said as he sat back up, unaware of blood dripping down his nose. He touched his nose lightly, feeling that it had already healed itself. Pulling the hand away from his face, he noticed the blood covering the tips of his fingers. "Oh..." he looked up at the girl and smiled uncertainly. That had been somewhat embarrassing. Hope she didn't think he was an idiot as well as a klutz. "I'm Kelrian. You startled me..."

"Oh, no, I'm sorry I startled you," Evelyn ran up to him, crouched, while pulling a black hankerchief out of her shirt sleeve. "Let me see that, Kel, you're bleeding." Without waiting for a reply or reaction, she immediately went into 'first-aid' mode. Starting with cleaning the blood off his face with the hankie. She frowned after a moment. Something wasn't right... actually something was right, his nose wasn't broken, it was perfectly fine. The girl gave him a suspicious look, wondering if he had just pulled some kind of prank on her.

"Kelrian, I am Evelyn. You know, you ought to be careful. Maybe it would have been a better idea to pace on the ground?" she asked pointedly.

"Heya Ev. I'm fine, as you can see," Kelrian said from his place on the ground. "I have a tendancy not to think of my actions, causing me harm, because... well, the harm rarely lasts more than a few moments." He shrugged, showing his lack of concern for the situation and that no harm was done. "But I'll keep it in mind. No point in getting hurt when it can be avoided. What'chya doin' down here? I'm just doing my laundry but its taking forever." A rather childish look of pathetic impatience crossed his feminine features as he looked up at her. "I'm bored." He wasn't whining to the younger youth, he was just... complaining? Definately not whining, though, because that would be annoying and particularly childish and he wasn't that, was he?

"I was just wandering around," Evelyn replied with an amused smile. She hoped that she didn't sound that childish when she complained about her boredom. Probably did. "Why are you waiting down here for your laundry to get done? Nevermind it doesn't really matter." The girl stood up abruptly and reached down to give the rather tall boy a hand up. "Next time bring something to amuse yourself... and what in the world were you humming anyhow? It sounded familiar, but kinda weird." Ev gave him an odd look, for it had been a rather strange tune to hum that he had been humming when she had walked in.

"Um, yeah. I should'a thought of that," Kelrian sighed, taking the offered hand and standing up, careful not to bring her down instead. He looked down at her and felt like he was towering over her. Well, not really he was only a foot or so taller than she was, but close enough. "It was a song my sisters liked to sing when they were little," he told her after a few moments in which he just loomed over her. "Um... something about a baby bumble bee. Actually kinda gross. I remember just about every single verse." He made a face. Then he said a few verses in a mock singing voice.

Evelyn stared at him blankly up at Kelrian for several moments in disbelief, and then began laughing quietly. That song... the way he sang it.. it was just silly. He was an odd boy, that was certain. How could he possibly be bored? It seemed like his mind skipped from one random thing to another, so what was the problem? she wondered. She shook her head and smiled at him. "Kelrian. Laters, I'm going to the greenhouse or something." A few steps to the door, a glance back, and then she walked out. She felt kinda bad about scaring him, getting a laugh, and then leaving him to his boredom, but... she didn't like spending a lot of time with people. Even people as nice/weird as that.

Kelrian blinked after she left, and stood up. He rubbed his eyes, and glanced at the washing machine. He... he had forgotten to turn it on... why hadn't he noticed that? He sighed and went to turn it on. That done, the slender blond boy sat on the bench. Glaring at the washing machine, he tried to think of something, anything, to keep him occupied.

Well, he could leave... but then he'd probably forget his clothes were down here. So completely boring, though, just sitting here. He sighed again, overdramatically. "Boring bored bore of a bothersome beeeeotch," Kel muttered under his breath for absolutely no reason. How long did it usually take for laundry to get done?
