Watching her closely, noting the reaction to his claws and the seeming extra interest she had in them (and was that a shiver?), Logan smiled to himself. Could he be right in thinking her affinity with metal would make her want to explore or at least take a closer look at the adamantium that lined his entire body. Well, X-Rays would give her a good look at what was inside, but on the outside, he could easily tell her what he figured she wanted to hear. He went about it in a more cautious way though. After all, he could be wrong about the whole extra attention thing. “Guess yer have a love for metal being that it’s tha basis for yer power and yer made outta it, in a sense?” he half asked, half stated. Holding up his other hand, he allowed the blades to extend. Now there were six, and if her interest had been peeked before it would probably be doubly so now. “Yer more than welcome ter have a further look at ‘em if yer like. Not that there’s much ter see really,’ he pointed out, grinning at her. There were many good kids around the place, but only a few he’d actually met and spoken too. Already, he was liking Dia, for she had a lot more in common with him than even he knew about. “I often take a trip back up ter tha woods in Canada, find tha wolf pack I ran with, and let myself go. Isn’t easy ter come back sometimes, but I do. I just have ter remember Chuck’s dream and tha promise I made him that I’d look after tha ‘pack’.” Seemed like that bit of information was said out of the blue, though it did fit in with what he’d just been talking about, and seeing Dia had yet to say anything in response to him he figured she was just waiting for him to continue. Holding his clawed hands fist-palm down he waited for what he believed was about to happen, inwardly smirking to himself. Most either found the blades intriguing or just plain scary… he couldn’t remember anyone actually wanting to touch and explore them before. |

(I think I was drunk with tiredness when I wrote that last post) "My blood is mixed with metal so yes, in a sense I am made of it." A slow nod escaped, barely noticeable but to a guy with superior senses Wolverine probably picked it up. "Really?" Her voice heightened. No one had really allowed her to touch them, whether touching involved an extremity or not. Her hands were the first to reach out towards them, her long fingers slowly extended. She had come into contact with metal objects before. It was hard for her not to. But metal that belonged to a person? Dia never had touched any metal that belonged to a person before, let alone meet anyone that had metal be a part of them. "Wolves are beautiful creatures. Though I'm glad man domesticated some, but I also love the fact that there are still many that are free." Though her tone still sounded sad for her thoughts trailed toward those wolves whose homes were being destroyed. Go figure she was a "tree hugger." Once she spoke about the wolves the tips of her fingers gently danced their way onto the adamantium claws. Her powers wrapped around them yet she pulled them back. The most that might happen from this small lapse in controlling her abilities is a small ripple that only the most observant person would have seen. |

"My blood is mixed with metal so yes, in a sense I am made of it." the Wolverine just nodded at that, allowing the broad smile to reach his eyes as her exclamation of "Really?" came forth. Yep, he’d been right about her wanting to touch and inspect his adamantium. Even though it had already crossed his mind, he honestly couldn’t get over just how interested she was in his blades. To him, they were simply a part of him, an extension of his hands that had been forced upon him. Yet, he would never hesitate to use them when needed; that much was for certain. "Wolves are beautiful creatures. Though I'm glad man domesticated some I love the fact that there are still many that are free," leaning his head to the side, Logan thought about her words and the true honesty behind them. It was nice to meet someone who didn’t say the animals he’d lived with for many years of his life were just savage killing machines. They were far from it, his mind going back to a time when he himself had been looked after; watched over closely; by a female with three pups after a hunting mission had gone quite bad and he was left with deep gashes that’d taken just that little bit longer to heal. Feeling the gentle tug of her powers, Wolverine was thrown back into current reality, a little perturbed by how quickly her abilities had adapted to the metal. He noted her pulling back, leaning forward a little, “Yer know kid, I am very glad yer on my side. It‘s hard enough havin someone like Magneto out there, let alone another that could cause me a lot of pain, and maybe one day be powerful enough to control the metal within me.” |

"Not only you but me too. Magneto could do more to me than what I can ever dream of doing to him." Dia was certainly the kind of person who recognized that there was someone that was better than her out there. Which brought forth the phrase, "there's always something better" to her mind. Except the something would have to be changed to someone, but it would still work. Someone was always better at doing something than someone else. "Oh..I don't know about me controlling the metal inside of you. So far I can only manipulate the seen but not the unseen but I sense both." Sense both. Was that really a good way to describe it? "It's like your heightened hearing only my own ability to sense metals is limited to just metals." Yes, that was a much better way to describe it. Collapsing her hands to where they rested at her sides she left Wolverine's claws alone. One lapse in control was more than enough to tell her that she needed to quit. Yet sometimes she felt as if she couldn't control it, that she was somehow pulled forward to metal very much like a magnet. It scared her to some extent but she knew with time that this phase would fade as she grew. |

Logan hadn’t thought of that; that Magneto was a direct danger to Dia too. He suddenly felt more protective of the young woman. Hell, Mags could come and try to rip the metal out of him, but let him just try to do the same to Dia! If he even hinted at wanting to hurt any member of his pack, Logan knew Wolverine would just be dying to take over and he wouldn‘t hesitate to let him. Feeling some form of relief at her revelation, Logan nodded, understanding her first attempt at explaining. “Yer’ll learn better control at this place. It’s what Xavier has and will always offer. Might get yer in the Danger Room sometime, let myself be yer guinea pig ter learnin how to track me down in some sorta surroundins. I’ll let yer test yer powers on me too, if yer promise ter be gentle,” he gave her a lopsided grin. In all honesty, she could be pretty rough with him, solely because his Regen abilities would easily cover over any pain. With that classic ‘Snikt’ sound, Logan’s blades disappeared back up into his forearms. “Now, I’m gonna go for a walk, kinda check security on tha way. I’m not tha type ter sit around for long,“ getting up, he headed towards the door. “Nice ter meet yer kid…” words trailing off he turned back around. “Yer care ter join me? I wouldn’t mind tha company.” |

"Well tracking you shouldn't be too hard. If I'm not asleep anyways." Dia laughed. She was poking fun at herself and not him. For she was only stirred awake when Logan spoke to her and not before. But like she figured, the dreaming state she was in plus the fact she was used to metals around her combined to her ability to not pick up the metal within Logan. Yet if she was fully awake she was certain she could sense him given if there was nothing else in the danger room to distract her. There was another thing she needed to work on. To be able to concentrate on one given thing and block out anything unnecessary. But that was easier said than done. Any metal was tracked by her mind as long as it was within her general area. If it was a block away or so then more than likely she wouldn't pick it up. Yet when more than one metal was being used then her brain liked to go into overload causing her mass confusion and severe headaches. "I don't like to refer to people as guinea pigs. But if you'd like to assist me in furthering my abilities I see no trouble in doing that." A broad smile crossed her lips. Yeah, she could talk fancy sometimes but that was usually when her opinions were outwardly spoken. "I'm always gentle and have a good amount of control over my abilities. I think that my powers just got excited about the adamantium." Getting up she smiled and joined him. "Sure. I don't like to sit for long and often take walks within or outside of the mansion. Oh and my name is Dia. I don't tend to like nicknames like Kid or Babe or anything like that." Her tone was respectful but firm.
