Continued from Room Service.

Red-on-black eyes took it all in, the interior of the mansion as Alix led him to the main kitchen of what was clearly a very expensive looking mansion. Of course, Remy’s thieving ways couldn’t help but take note of the paintings on the walls, and other such things that looked like they would gather a hefty sum should he decide to casually take them, selling them to one of the pawn shops he regularly visited on his travels. Paintings being so big, he’d most likely contact one of his many acquaintances interested in that type of thing to pass them on to other hands quickly.

He had been right about where his little ‘stalker’ was taking him… back to the school she had told him about. How was it that he had suspected that? Well, he was used to the subtle underlying meanings in peoples’ voices, no matter whether they were verbal or telepathic. He really did have a magnificent set of skills thanks to the life he had led. Gambit just wished there were parts of that life he could go back and completely redo; or not go anywhere near had the choice been there.

As they entered the kitchen, Remy had to admit, his stomach was letting him know it was time to eat, and it better be soon. In fact, he was starting to feel a tad bit dizzy, over hungry. Normally he’d never let himself get that bad. With a quick glance around his new surroundings, Gambit immediately began opening up cupboards, the pantry, searching, noting where everything was, then proceeding to take a hold of the ingredients he was after. For once in his long life, he didn’t feel like anything from his hometown; anything Cajun that was. No, he felt like cooking up a nice big fat juicy chicken burger.

So, imagine his relief when he found chicken burger patties in the large freezer, burger buns in the largest bread box he’d ever seen sitting on someone’s counter, and the other necessary parts to what would prove to be a sensation to the tastebuds. Why, it was Remy Etienne LeBeau cooking the said chicken burgers… how in the world could they not be a sensation?!

Giving Alix a smile that clearly suggested he was in his element, and loving every minute of it, Remy moved quickly, locating a baking tray and, after defrosting the burger patties in the microwave for a couple minutes, shoved them in the oven, going ahead and buttering the bread rolls… six in all, just in case others chose to follow their nose to the main mansion kitchen.

“Yo be gettin dat dere coffee maker makin some coffee, Petit, if’n dat be okay wit yo,” his words finally broke the focused silence, on his part. “De burgers be nearly ready, an I jus be knowin dey be washed down nicely wit a good strong cup o coffee.”

Glancing into the oven, the Cajun smiled to himself. The smell was divine… looked like whoever bought the food around this place didn’t hold back on paying for the best. That, in Remy’s book, made them someone he really did want to get to know. Moving to the fridge he grabbed out some pineapple slices, adding them to the lettuce, beetroot, and other salads already on the top of the burgers. It did occur to Gambit he hoped Alix ate all that he was putting together. It would be too bad to be going to all this effort only to have her turn up her nose at it.

Sliding the tray out of the oven, Gambit grinned, “Yo gotta be lovin de defrostin powers o de microwave,” he pointed out, putting the finishing touch to the burgers, placing them all together, and laying them out on a serving tray he’d found in his searches earlier. “Dere yo go, Cheri, yo be enjoyin it now, oui,” Remy said, motioning to the food. He soon took a hold of one himself, beginning to eat, his stomach most happy with the entire situation.

((sorry this took me so long^^))

Alix.. was never the best at lying- or just being plane secretive- about thinks that weren't.. well, all that important for being secretive about. Really a strange trait for a telepath, she defeinetly seemed to be the sort of person who'd get so very caught up in getting something done, that she'd forget the finer details. And.. well, while she could -make- people believe her.. Alix hated the use of her powers in such a way, and so she was terrible at lying.

Apparently, however, Gambit didn't mind. It was comforting to her, honestly, to know that someone wasn't going to treat her differently.. just because she couldn't speak aloud. At the request of coffee brewing, she nodded- though inwardly grew nervous. She'd never made coffee before..

Hastily, she went about making coffee, analyzing various individuals take on how to do it.

Moments later.. a strange smell came from the coffee maker.. and.. she frowned, silently. ::I uh.. think myabe I can't make coffee.:: She smiled apologetically. ::Maybe.. uh.. I can get some sodas?::

She looked towards the food happily, smiling lightly. ::it looks very good::

Alexander stopped dead in his tracks as he walked by the kitchen. Actually, he wasn't making any tracks, right now he was floating through the halls, enjoying the freedom of performing in front of people. Earlier he'd played a pick up game of ultimate Frisbee with some other flyer's outside. While he never liked the sport, in the sky it was so much different.

Now he was hungry after his aerial escipade and on his way to the dining room to see if any food was set out. But he didn't expect to encounter a smell from the kitchen itself, and he just had to investigate. So he lowered himself to the floor, and became solid once again. Causally opening the door and sliding in, as if he had a plan to make his own meal, and not mooch it off some one else.

He quickly saw the two people in the kitchen, and their food more importantly. Burgers, wait, chicken burgers, Might as well try Alex thought as he walked over to the pair, causally of course. "Excuse me, are there any burger free" he said, still trying to appear very casual, as he walked over, doing his best to not look like a beggar.

Remy had placed his half eaten burger down, keen to get started on cooking something else. Once he was in a kitchen it was extremely difficult to get him out. With the left over chicken burger patties kept warm in the now covered baking tray, and the salad ingredients covered with a tea towel, the Cajun proceeded to make up a dessert for the two of them to enjoy… chocolate mousse with a hint of peppermint. His mouth watered at just the thought of it.

::I uh.. think maybe I can't make coffee.:: She smiled apologetically. ::Maybe.. uh.. I can get some sodas?:: Gambit caught the rather strange smell long before Alix’s announcement. Grinning broadly, he made sure not to show any form of laughing or annoyance that she’d stuffed up perfectly good coffee beans. Truth be told, he wasn’t angry with her in any way… he was more kicking himself for assuming she knew how to use the coffee maker and had therefore more than likely embarrassed her somewhat. “Oui, sodas be soundin good,” he agreed, nodding, as the sound of a hand held mixer could be heard, not hearing her comment about the food.

He was facing the kitchen door when the newcomer walked into the room, and since Remy had just been brought to the mansion he had no idea who the young man was. Red-on-black eyes studied his reaction to seeing the burgers, or rather, smelling them was more than likely what had brought him into the room. Turning off the mixer, he was about to say something when the teen asked what had to be an inevitable question, "Excuse me, are there any burgers free?”

“Yo be in luck, Mon’ami,” Gambit answered, holding the bowl down so he could see what was in it. “No’ only dere be three burgers left, but dere also be plenty o choclate mousse ta be goin roun’,” Remy paused as he placed the dessert on the table, moving over to get three smaller bowls and some spoons. “At leas’ enuff for de three o us an maybe two more, if’n we no’ be downin it all ourselves.”

Alex smiled as he asked "are you sure" even as he grabbed the burger and took the first bite. Man, thought Alex, Why have i never had a chicken burger before?. It might just be the chef, creole by the way he spoke, or a french man living deep south. The last one was far from likely, but with this school Alex couldn't be certain.

To not look like a total beggar, Alex decided to try to contribute. "Do you guys need help with anything?" Alex asked as he took a second bite. He wasn't a great chef, but he liked to bake, but he had never prepared chocolate mousse.

Then Alex's attention went to the other girl. She hadn't said a word, But Alex hadn't really addressed her yet. She might just be shy. "So are you a teacher?" Alex asked the larger man hesitantly, he was tall, but he might just be an older student, and Alex didn't want to offend him. But most people weren't offended by being told they looked older. Alex assumed the girl was a student.

::oh don't worry.. I just.. I'm not the best at making things.:: she'd never been taught to make food items- and really, who had access to a microwave or a coffee maker on the corner of hells kitchen, in a side alley? She certainly hadn't..

She smiled apologetically, and nodded, quietly grabbing some cans of soda from the fridge and set them on the table. When Alex entered, she watched him nervously- her black and white eyes uneasily going over him. While honestly, she could make conversation now easily with Gambit.. people her own age were a whole new story. She didn't have much chances to talk with people that were her age, and.. well.. she wasn't exactly the most easy to speak to, thanks to telepathy. So, silently, she concluded to not speak until he spoke to her.

When the chicken burgers were set onto the table, Alix quietly sat, nodding her thanks to gambit as she poured her soda into a glass.

When Alex spoke, her gaze shifted btween the two, wondering on what Gambit's answer would be while she took a dainty little bite out of the chicken sandwhich.

It was clear to the Cajun that the newcomer to the kitchen was a bit nervous. As to why, Remy could only guess. Some people didn’t like taking things others had made, for reasons he could never understand. Helloooo, if it has been made, and is there waiting to be eaten saving them the trouble of having to make it themselves, why not take advantage of the delicacies before him? Of which, and it made Gambit chuckle, the young man did, the chef clearly able to see he was enjoying it. That only brought a deep sense of pride and accomplishment up into Remy’s heart.

"Do you guys need help with anything?"

“Oui,” came Remy’s answer, nodding towards the coffee maker. “If’n yo be knowin how ta be makin coffee, yo be gettin to it?” he said, scooping hefty amounts of the mousse into three separate bowls, although they would not be enjoying that delicacy until the burgers were eaten.

*Oh don't worry.. I just.. I'm not the best at making things,* Remy’s eyes sparkled as he smiled. “Den we be havin ta do sometin bou’ dat now won’ we?” he offered. Even if he didn’t stay here at this rather lovely mansion, he could easily teach her a few things each time he passed through New York. In fact, the thought of taking on an apprentice, no matter how unskilled in the arts as she was, certainly sounded intriguing.

"So are you a teacher?" red-on-black eyes glanced at the stranger curiously. “Do I be lookin like a teacher ta yo?” that was a genuine question actually. Remy had never for one moment ever thought himself to be a teacher. Perhaps of the culinary arts, and maybe a bit of French and Cajun but anything more philosophical wouldn’t suit him at all. “By de way, de name’s Gambit, Mon’ami. I be suggestin yo be remembrin it. Aldough,” and he paused. “I also be goin by de name o Remy,” may as well get all the introductions out of the way.

“An,” he added, seconds later, “abou’ now be de pertinent time ta be tellin’ me yo name,” and he smiled at the teen, taking a sip of the glass of soda Alix had just poured for them.

Alex shrugged "I haven't really done it before, but i might be able to figure it out." It was the least he could do, even if he didn't have a clue about how it worked. His mom drank coffee, maybe he could remember what she did. he set down his burger, not before taking one last nibble, and walked over to the coffee maker. Alex highly doubted he could remember enough to figure it out as he examined the coffee maker like a piece of futuristic foreign technology.

Alex turned around from his detective work, hoping he hadn't angered the man.. or gambit, funny name. Maybe it was one of those code names. Alex didn't think he had heard gambit on the T.V, best not to ask him if he caused chaos in cities or shot fire.

"No, in all honesty you don't look like a teacher, at least not the type I've ever seen." Alex wasn't really sure what most teachers where like at this school." But i wouldn't know, i've only seen a few teachers, and only a few others adults not part of the faculty. I'm assuming you are adult?" Alex said as he turned back, hiding his smile as he fiddled with the coffee maker.

Alix was an expert listener. Her mind imediately honed in on the conversation, picking up various aspects, analyzing Alex and other things... Finding other conversations of the simular variety and analyzing a response.

She found none, and softly shifted, taking a small drink of the soda before scuffing her shoes against the tile..

::I'm.. Ah.. Alix.:: she added in- telepathically, and a wave. Awkward, yea- but.. at least she was trying.

Which, honestly, was the hardest part of it all. Not sneaking about the mansion, and actually talking. Honestly- Alex could've seen her around the school, possibly around the roof or balconies. But.. hearing her speak? well, that was highly unusual. She simply.. was more quiet than alot of her contemperaries, finding that she still wasn't quite adjusted to people her age not being the mean gangster variety.

At the whole "is gambit a teacher" conversation, she just barely seemed to laugh, black and white eyes lowering to the table in some sort of amusement.

"I haven't really done it before, but i might be able to figure it out." not another one. Didn’t this school believe in teaching its students the most essential skill for what most needed before they could even start the day. Gambit couldn’t believe it. Red-on-black eyes watched him; he’d move over to help soon enough, but was enjoying the last of his burger first.

…I'm assuming you are adult?" Gambit laughed so hard at that question tears came to his eyes. Of all the things to ask him. “Oui, I be an adult,” he managed, tempted to roll his eyes. Wasn’t it obvious? ~I be tinkin I like dis place,~ he thought towards Alix. ~Dey be tinkin I be younger den I am.~

He finally got annoyed with the whole fiddling and obviously not knowing what he was doing, so Remy walked over and proceeded to show Alex how to put together a good brew of coffee. Removing the old filter and replacing it, he said, “Dere, dat be a start,” he then added in the coffee beans, following through with the other touches before flicking the switch and watching the divine brown fluid slowly begin to pour into the jug. “Now dat be de way yo be doin it,” Remy said, raising his eyebrow at the teen.

“An yo still no’ be tellin’ me yo name,” he nudged, returning to the food isle, smiling at the amused look in Alix’s eyes.

Alexander heard the voice enter his mind, whenever a telepath communicated through his mind he felt like mercury was being poured into his head. Not a bad feeling, and it generally calmed his mind. This was slightly different, but i didn't feel invasive and Alex had no problem with telepathic communication. His father did it from time to time, and he got used to the feeling.

Alex, shaking himself from his day dream turned his mind to the girl, realizing she might be mute, explaining her silence and her telepathic communication, maybe. Alex wasn't sure and didn't want to bring it up.

"Hey I'm Alex to, i guess." He flashed her a smile and a half wave, still semi-focused on the puzzling coffee machine. He was ,truthfully, realized when Remi took over and made the coffee, Alex watching over his shoulder and listening to his advice in case he had to make it again.

" I only thought you might be a shape shifter or something to that affect, I didn't know non-faculty adult were on campus" Alex couldn't help but notice how preppy and arrogant he sounded, I need to work on that he thought as he made a mental note. not that he would even remember it in a few minutes, he really thought mental notes where silly. But they added affect, even if it was just his own thoughts

"Oh and I'm Alex Legard" he said to gambit, thought he probably already knew that from his talk with the girl, a one sided talk actually, maybe he should have explained to Gambit. "I'm new here"

His reaction allowed her to just barely relax. It was nice to not be met with imediate suspecion- even if she expected and understood it- finding it made things.. alot easier. She could've answered his thought, too.. but decided not to. he didn't bring it up for a reason, and she'd leave him to that.

Just barely, she smiled, that same light amusement gleaming through at the explinaion of the coffee maker- which she didn't watch. There were just some things that having a mind that constantly asked for answers and took 'advice' from others made hard-- and any sort of cooking was one of those things. Like having too many cooks in the kitchen, she'd have thoughts going every which way- finding that it was more than difficult to manage making things when so many different minds have so many different ways of doing it.

::it's a pleasure to meet you:: she finally returned, taking another bite of the chicken burger happily and pleasantly. Some things, like food, were something you grew to appreciate only when you lived without it. She relished it, and was more than thankful every day for every bit of it.

::I've never had coffee..:: she managed to add, strange eyes casually drifting to the brew quietly. Of course, she'd never had chicken burgers either. At least, this kind. She hardly counted mcdonalds left overs into that account.

“I only thought you might be a shape shifter or something to that affect, I didn't know non-faculty adult were on campus… Oh and I'm Alex Legard… I'm new here," Remy raised an eyebrow at the Shapeshifter comment. Him, able to change into an animal or another person like that freak Mystique… hah, dread the thought! Imagine the mischief he could get up to under the guise of another person, or even a cat or a dog. The Cajun couldn’t help but laugh at the images running around in his head; images Alix would easily be able to see.

::I've never had coffee…:: the sound of a knife hitting the floor reverberated through the kitchen, red-on-black eyes widening in complete and utter shock, as he turned to regard Alix. “Yo’ve ne’er had coffee bfore?” he asked, clearly incredulous, unable to completely believe it. “It be only de life blood o all good Americans, an yo ne’er be havin it bfore,” he repeated, shaking his head and immediately making her a less strong cup than he would have normally made for himself.

Handing it to her, he said, “Here, yo be tastin it now an be joinin de rest o de nation.” Turning to Alexander he finally addressed his introduction of himself, “Well, dere, dat no’ be so hard. Nice ta be meetin’ yo, Mon’ami. An, yo no’ be de only new one ta dis ‘ere mansion. Ting is, I may no’ be stayin within its walls for as long as most,” and Remy proceeded to eat his bowl of choc mint mousse, grinning to himself.

Oh so delicious, even if he did think so himself!

"Likewise" Alex told Alix with a nod of his head. He moved back to the counter, actually flew is more like it. He easily transitioned into his red smoke state and drifted on top of the counter, where he reformed into a solid, casually sitting atop the counter, his legs hanging down. He grabbed his partially eaten burger and bit of a few more petite bites, then a much larger bite sipping some soda to wash it down with. Even though Alex had picked up the European eating style, he still could large amount of food, and quickly if was good, no doubt thanks to the frequent trips to the U.S

Alex smiled at the zealously that Gambit preached coffee. Despite the fact that he never made it he was a bit of a fan. "I have to agree with Gambit Alix, but i can't really vouch for American coffee. I'm more partial to cappuccinos and such myself." Alex admitted. But he rarely drank coffee in the U.S for fear of being disappointed after have coffee from some of the best makers of it in the world.

Just barely, Alix laughed at the images in Gambit's head, finding them to be more than just barely amusing. Then again, most things she did find funny tended to end up being thoughts. Perhaps-- it was what she picked up on the easiest.

When he handed her the coffee, she took it carefully- staring it over as if it were some sort of strange mystical conncoction that, if given the chance, would devour her. She gave it the glance over, spinning it's contents before quietly.. taking a drink.

::It tastes.. intersting:: she looked towards them both. She must not've been a very good american since, truthfully, she didn't find it to be the sort of thing she'd want to drink every morning.

::I'm.. new too:: she nodded half enthusasitcally, though somewhat pleasantly.
