Logan smiled to himself. He was pretty proud of Pyro, he’d come a long way since leaving the Brotherhood; what had once been a pretty angry and stubborn kid, who pretty much only cared about himself, was now one who wouldn’t hesitate to protect those around him, no matter the way they reacted to his attempt to help. Noting the young cat mutant’s reaction, he sighed. “Another one we’re gonna have ter help fit in and start trustin their fellow peers around here,” he said, out loud, hoping Lou would understand where he was coming from.

"Here I'll take Elea from ya," glancing at the young woman, Logan nodded then got off the bike himself, yet, he made no move to head over to where Alix was now also trying to help out the unknown mutant; at least unknown by the Wolverine, and that was something that would change very soon.

“No need ter apologise Darlin’,” he promised, giving her a reassuring smile. “They’ve got things handled. Might just wait ter see if they come back this way. If not, I’ll take yer inside and help get yer settled in,” he offered, finally getting the gumption to reach into the basket and pat the cat that hadn’t shown an ounce of fear towards him.

"I'm fine. Bruises I can live with. The headache, though, will be a mighty good one," John chuckled a little, any sense of humour lost the moment he noted the look that next came over the young teen’s face. ~Whoa,~ Pyro thought. ~I haven’t even touched him and he’s gotten all defensive,~ that was a clear sign of someone who just hadn’t been in any sort of social setting before. The flame manipulator quickly moved his hand back to his side, wondering if this guy was going to be afraid of his mutation too.

It really did puzzle, and in some ways, hurt St. John Allerdyce when others recoiled from him because he was one of the master manipulators of fire out there. Geesh, if they gave him a wide berth just for manipulating it, he really did feel for those mutants able to create the element as well.

::Here.. don't worry.. We're all a bit nervous... I have some pain killers, if you want it,:: John had noted where Mittens was looking, yet had been beaten to grabbing the bowler hat by a young girl who he now knew had decided to follow him. In some ways, that made Pyro feel pretty happy. It suddenly occurred to the fire bug that he cared just a little too much what Alix thought, or how she acted around him.

~You don’t even know the girl that much, John. What’s with that?~

~Yeah, but you know she’s worth a second look at, and she’s gentle and sweet, far from the girls you’re used to,~ shaking his head discreetly, and hiding a smile as he looked at Mittens, Pyro backed up Alix’s reassurance, “Yeah, we just came to see if ya okay. Nothing to worry about?” it was just as much a statement as a question.

Lou looked down at the young girl. ::Project thoughts?:: she questioned to Alix. ::Don’t expect me to understand the workings of others' powers and I won't expect you to understand mine.:: Mentally sighing as a smile of thanks appeared on her pale lips. Telepathy was one branch of mutant powers that she not only feared but respected. ~It's sad to have people's thoughts enter into what some view as an escape.~ she thought watching the telepath walk to aid the catboy.

Clearly her mind was else where for when Logan made the observation she started and had to sidestep to catch her balance. "I guess," Lou agreed absentmindedly. Had she heard him correctly? It was like he was implying that she needed to learn how to trust people. A smile of embracement formed as redness flushed her pale face. "Yeah, maybe we can all learn to trust together." ~That would be nice.~ she thought wishing the redness to disappear.

Dark gray eyes, still hidden behind sunglasses, stared at the scene play out with the teens and the small boy. "They do seem to have things handled, don't they." Smiling, she realized Logan may have wanted to pet Elea. "He'll let ya pet him. As for the kids, we can wait a bit and head back if they don't start for us." She said this as she released the latch on Elea's cage. Good to his master wishes Elea allowed the stranger to pet him he even purred, but it was a ruse. Without warning the white Persian jumped down from the carrier and ran toward its own kind. This event took Lou by surprise that before she knew it her cat was feet away from the young catboy.

The way Pyro recoiled his hand he knew, just knew that he had touched a nerve. Robert wanted to give some sign to reassure this guy that he meant no harm. That he didn't want to get close to anyone because of fears whether they were real or misplaced. His odd hazel eyes widen as he saw the girl head his way as well. Eyes darted from Pyro to the approaching Alix and lingered at the adults by the motorcycle. Hadn't he met enough people the other day? Why was he being tortured?

~They seem nice though.~ he observed as his hand reached out to retrieve the bowler. Without giving Alix a word of thanks he drew his knees to his chest and stared once again at the adults further up the path. Shaking his head little Mittens spoke in a rather soft but audible voice. "Thank-you but my sister told me never to take medicine from others." he had almost said 'strangers' they were but his first assumption, of them being nice, was correct. "I'll be fine I'm not use to that though," he shyly smiled and waved his hand holding the bowler at the basketball court.

Well, he would be the first to admit that meeting new people wasn't that bad but making friends was another story. Ignoring the reassurances, he looked up at the two and gave a tiny genuine smile. "If you wish you may call me Mittens. Believe, you, me that if I insist for you to call me Rob-” His words cut off as his eyes widen in slight fear as though a lion was approaching. Without thinking of Alix or Pyro's reactions he fell sideways, got on to his knees, and held his bowler in front off himself as to block the on coming beast. The white Persian only mewed in attempt to greet his fellow feline. Desperately looking at the two towering over him he started, "Get it away from me. I'm allergic and only received one allergy shot. Enough for me to stop sneezing ‘cuz of my ears not enough to hold back a cat." ~yeah and I don't want to sneeze and reveal myself as a cat.~ the catboy thought as a small, barely noticeable but devious grin raced across his face.

::I.. alright.. I didn't expect you to.. I just.. well...:: She shifted, looking towards Lou nervously.. ::sorry..:: she nodded hastily. There was alot going on at the moment- and while she could easily deal with a combat sort of situation.. Alix.. wasn't the most skilled at having multiple conversations at once.

She caught Mittens thoughts, nervously going over them in her head.. was she overstepping her bounds? getting too confident? She stepped back quietly. When he spoke however, she seemed to quietly relax, just barely shifting her gaze to Pyro in a quiet sort of study- nervously before hastily looking away- a slight bit of a blush on her features once agin. Seemingly, his thoughts were more than a little.. what was the word? for her. She didn't mind them- far from it.. but still, it wasn't every day someone used to a much different variety of thoughts heard something like that. Almost quietly.. her mind drifted to Aingeru-- what he'd say, what he'd do.. and what she had done, in the past. What would both Logan and Pyro- or even the others- think if they really knew what she'd done? She shifted silently... Any thoughts of her's were unclear, and she quickly turned her attetion back to Mittens.

::alright..:: she nodded, and quietly placed it back away into a pocket. Her mind continued to observe things, analyzing and calculating as she listened to the things that seemed to drift in and out of thought. The cat, however, pulled her from these things, and hastily.. she shifted- looking towards the 'fearsome' creature in silent study before looking back towards Lou.

::He's allergic to cats.. can.. you put him up?:: She would've picked up the cat.. but.. well.. she wasn't sure if Lou would be ok witht hat- and not wanting to upset anyone.. she simply just would make sure the cat didn't get any closer to Mittens.

"Yeah, maybe we can all learn to trust together," Logan glanced at her, not entirely sure how to take that comment. He did, however admit that even though he’d come a long way in his years at the mansion, he still had a long way to go in trusting others, specially those that were so obvious in their wanting to give the Wolverine a wide berth because they believed every darn rumour they heard around the school.

"They do seem to have things handled, don't they… He'll let ya pet him. As for the kids, we can wait a bit and head back if they don't start for us," Nodding, Logan gave the cat’s neck a good scratch. “Tha feline species normally recoils at tha mere scent of me. He must be somethin special not ter much care bou’ tha obvious traits to a wolf most of em seem ter think I have…” and that was when Elea decided to jump out of the basket and head straight for the small group just shy of the basketball court.

"Thank-you but my sister told me never to take medicine from others… I'll be fine I'm not use to that though," Pyro nodded, thinking something along the lines that his sister had taught him well. "If you wish you may call me Mittens. Believe, you, me that if I insist for you to call me Rob- …Get it away from me. I'm allergic and only received one allergy shot. Enough for me to stop sneezing ‘cuz of my ears not enough to hold back a cat." Mittens, finally he had a name… then the admittance he was allergic to cats when… ah, he WAS a cat. Okay, that was just weird. What a seriously twisted thing the X-Gene could be sometimes. Make one look and have the traits of a feline, yet be totally allergic to the real thing… absolutely wonderful!

Despite the entire situation, Pyro didn’t miss Alix’s look, nor the blush on her cheeks. Suddenly, John wished he had the ability to teleport, for he realised in that moment that she’d heard his thoughts, even though he hadn’t intended her too. Heck, he really needed more training from his foster sister to keep those strong mental barriers in place. It didn’t occur to him for one second that he’d actually wanted her to hear him… noooo, that would just be embarrassing, right?

::He's allergic to cats.. can.. you put him up?:: John shook his head. ~Bit hard to pick someone up who doesn’t like to be touched,~ he sent to her, reaching out to pat Elea. ~Damn, I couldn’t stand being allergic to cats,~ he thought, moving to intercept the animal. “Heya kitty,” he said, scratching the cat under the chin, hopefully taking its mind off its pursuit of Mittens.

Lou looked promptly away when she noticed Logan's glance. That statement of trust didn't include him. It was general, not pointing out any one in particular or was it? Shrugging she just looked at her cat enjoying being petted by Logan. ~You're a weird one, you know.~ She thought jokingly. Elea was one cat that didn't follow the necessary rules of being a cat. An example was his jumping from the cage and running off to its own kind. Wait an example? "Hey get back here, you." Trying to tell a cat what to do was a useless endeavor.

The bowler was barely keeping the beast at bay. Robert heard Alix's request to Lou and watched the later walking toward them. The white Persian backed off a bit and allowed Pryo to pet him. An ever lover of attention was he.

Mittens would have been ecstatic but he had heard something again. A bit of fear filled his strange hazel eyes as his cat ears tried found where it sounded. The voice seemed to be disembodied and he was almost sure Alix couldn't have heard it. The funny thing was it sound like a greeting. ~Oh great I'm hearing voices... again." the catboy thought shaking his head slightly in attempt to stop thinking about them.

"Come here you," Lou called toward Elea. Bending down her obsidian black hair fell in front of her sunglasses. Without even a pause she pulled the black sunglasses onto her head taking the stands of hair with them. Adopting on baby talk voice she began coaxing the beast into its cage. "You should know better. A proper greeting first then beg for attention." The cat, now plopped on its back, couldn't resist his owner petting his stomach. Scooping up the lump of a cat Lou stuffed him in the cage. "If I hadn't had him so long, I swear Elea was part dog," she said to no one in particular, voice back to normal.

With the beast caged Mittens put the bowler back over his ears and stood up in full glory. Lou couldn't help but smile. This catboy was the most adorable thing she had ever seen. His being short added to the cuteness.

"Hello! I'm Lou Tringum," introducing herself Lou held out a hand. "Sorry about Elea escaping and it's sad that you're allergic to such a wonderful animal." During her introduction she smiled at Alix in thanks of telling that the young one was allergic and Pyro for sharing an affinity.

For a second it looked as though the young one would take the adult's hand in greeting but when his hand was half to her's the catboy drew it back quickly. He then did the only thing that made sense, he hid behind Alix. She really was about his sister's height and it was comforting. In a small voice he did as his sister had told him; when adult’s greet you, you should always greet them back. "It's nice to make you acquaintance Miss Tringum."

Lou's pursed her lips, "If you wish to be polite you may call me Miss Lou." Staring down at the catboy's face peeking out from behind Alix a single thought came to mind. ~Your cute exterior isn't going to fool me.~ Why she thought this was anyone's guess but in her experience looks had a way of hiding one's true self. In reality she had been affronted by the boy's rash behavior.

Catching his thought to teleport, Alix imediately looked downwards- rather good at accidently hearing too much, she couldn't help but wonder if she'd actually been looking in too far in the first place- prying where she didn't belong in hopes to maybe, just maybe, find out more about him.

Which was new, honestly, while she did happen to pry a great deal into people's thoughts, it was never to really find out about them, as a person. Sure, she wanted to find out about them, the way they worked, what they liked.. how she could help them if possible- other things like that. But actually looking to see favorite foods? Now that was.. well, a new thing. Not that it made it right of course- but then when you're raised to never ask questions and just find out things on your own, you can't very well go changing it imediately, even if you did really, really try to.

When Mittens darted behind her, she just barely jumped before smiling half apologetically at Lou. The whole 'people hiding behind Alix' bit was a new and strange feeling, and really- she didn't quite know what to say. Or really do. Did she stand there? Or did she try to make Mittens feel like it'd be ok to not hide behind her? even though she was fairly certain she didn't mind, the boy was scared, right? He needed her help. that alone was enough to make her not be upset.

But still left the question of what to do. So, instead of coming up with something to say or do- she sorta.. stood there- eyes forwards without emotion.

"Hey get back here, you." Logan shrugged, taking the keys from his bike and following along after Lou. Figured it would be the two of them that would end up joining the other three, although, Logan did sense the young catboy wasn’t too keen on having so many people around. ""If I hadn't had him so long, I swear Elea was part dog," Wolverine chuckled. “Might be why he’s accepted me so quickly,” he observed, watching as she introduced herself to Mittens.

If Logan hadn’t known better he would have laughed out loud at the fact a teen with an obvious cat-like mutation was allergic to the original animal. It suddenly occurred to him just how absolutely ironic that was, really, catching a stare of warning from Pyro. Geesh, the kid knew how to read him so well… the downside to knowing him for so long.

Both Logan and John found it quite amusing, to see Mittens hide behind Alix. "It's nice to make you acquaintance Miss Tringum." ~Well, at least the kid has some form of manners,~ Logan thought, waiting a little aways from the group, just in case the human feline’s response to him wasn’t as accepting as Elea’s had been.

Pyro couldn’t help but note Alix’s response to Mittens hiding behind her. It looked as if she was trying to decide between staying there so he could continue to use her as a shield, or try to assure him everything was alright and he really didn’t need to hide. John realised he needed to speak to Alix alone, away from the others sometime, and soon. He’d only just met her proper and already there was the insatiable urge to get to know the young girl.

For now, he’d start with adding a character like her to his current Sci-Fi novel, hoping he’d kept that thought well hidden behind his shields.

Mittens eyes widen even larger as the second adult stopped behind Lou. What put his guard up wasn't the guy's appearance or even cat-like senses. Heck, those senses weren't permanent and didn't stay long. Even his very sensitive hearing left. No it was the Logan's height that put him on edge. Everyone, except children, was taller than him but it was those who were over 5'5'' that made him nervous.

Without caring how odd Alix thought it was or how funny Pyro and Logan humored over it, Mittens hid deeper in the black and white haired girl's shadow.

Lou sensed that the young one's fears weren't just with meeting new people. Some underlying cause, maybe more than one, had to be the reason for this boy's mannerism. Setting the cat carrier at Logan's feet she slowly started towards the young telepath and catboy. Kneeling down at Alix's side she got to just bellow eye level of the two short teens.

"Little one," Lou addressed Mittens. "There's nothing to be afraid of. We won't bite," at this she looked a Logan in attempt to tell him he shouldn't attack the catboy. The smile on her face only assured Logan that she was joking. Turning back she began again, "Was it not one of your presidents who stated 'The only thing to fear is fear itself.' Meeting new people is always scary for everyone. What keeps me going is the hope that one of those people will in turn become someone I can trust." This was the melancholy dream for one who couldn’t trust.

At first only his strange hazel eye could be seen staring from behind Alix but soon he appeared at her right side, still keeping very close. What this woman had just stated had truth in it. It had hope as well but again the catboy wasn't going to acknowledge his agreement. Instead he stated something very interesting, "You're not from America Miss Lou."

Standing up abruptly Lou stared down at Mittens. "Of course I'm from America. I'm not from the US it that's what you mean." Ignoring her own statement about how those of the United States calling themselves plain Americans without considering Canada or Mexico as part of America the phrase 'stupid Americans' followed in and out of her head.

"May I ask the process of registering as a teacher," Lou addressed Logan just as quickly as she stood. This adventure had gone on long enough. Anyways it looked as though Pyro wanted to get to know Alix better. Smiling down at Mittens she took advantage of how polite he acted. "You wouldn't mind escorting a young woman to her destination would you."

The catboy just stared at her with mouth agape. Lou had hit the nail on the head. He would have to escort her when the time came. Anyways she probably had to meet the one in charge of the school and he had questions to ask this person as well. All of them were centered on his sister.

Her gaze shifted between the conversations. While.. rather good at handling them all, it was getting a bit jumbling- with Lou trying to assure mittens, mittens thoughts going a mile aminute about what to do, and Logan.. well, she didn't really sem to cath his thoughts all that much..

But still, there was so much going on. Her own mind also raced, easily mulling over the various personality issues of Pyro, though no wher near what the others seemed to be going at.

However, though she didn't respond to his 'getting to know her' thought.. she smiled inwardly, happily accepting, even though he hadn't nessicarily asked. His company was enjoyable, and while his thoughts held a great deal of variety.. it was always on a variance of pleasantry. Inwardly, she smiled.. and looked down towards Mittens uncertainly.

Would he be alright going off? already she found herself worrying about the younger mutant, concerening herself with his wellbeing despite the fact that there was no need. Honestly, that's how she was. Always concerned more with oithers than with herself, apaprently.

"Little one… There's nothing to be afraid of. We won't bite," at this she looked a Logan in attempt to tell him he shouldn't attack the catboy. The smile on her face only assured Logan that she was joking.

Logan shook his head, then chuckled to himself, thinking, ~At least tha others won’t,~ before Lou’s look came, and he actually couldn’t hold in the laugh. Raising an eyebrow he just grinned from ear to ear. Well, that was a good start, the woman had only just met him and she had already shown a lack of fear in joking around with him. He truly did like that in the female of the species.

"You're not from America Miss Lou." Oh wow, what an innocent observation. Pyro found himself unable to hold back from laughing too, again. This kid was all too cute, and well, truthful, in a way, although, he would completely understand if Lou showed even a hint of frustration towards him. "Of course I'm from America. I'm not from the US it that's what you mean," it was a bit hard to tell from that whether she was annoyed or anything. Pyro sighed, sometimes this meeting new people thing was hard… he wasn’t sure if he should apologise to Lou for Mittens or just leave it.

"May I ask the process of registering as a teacher," Logan quirked a brow. “If yer expected yer details are already in the system, just gotter get them from the computer. If not, then yer‘ll have ter visit the Principle. Mina will want ter meet yer and make sure yer suitable fer tha job,” the animalistic mutant informed her, eyes widening a little in intrigue as she asked Mittens to escort her. Now that could prove to be interesting.

Pyro smiled. Looks like he was finally going to be left alone with Alix. ~Come on, Logan, don’t ask me to go too,~ he thought, wishing he was a telepath at times. Giving the flame manipulator a look, Wolverine motioned to his bike, suddenly throwing the keys in John’s direction. “Put her away fer me,” he said, looking back at Mittens and Lou. “C’mon then, I ain’t got all day,” he informed the two, a smirk on his face.

John’s eyes widened, looking excitedly at Alix. “Oh yeah man!” he cried. “He doesn’t just trust anyone with his beast. Come on, we’ll put it away then…” he paused. “Ah, do something else?” he offered, a genuine smile on his face.

OOC: Um, will Wolverine, Mittens and Lou have to move to a new thread now? If so, feel free to start up a new one, or let me know to, since Logan is in the lead here. LOL.

From Alix's protective look to Logan's and Pyro's chuckling to Lou's abruptness caused a slight reddening to from in little Mitten's sun-tanned looking cheeks. In embarrassment his gaze dropped down to his feet. Attention was something he didn't like.

Lou carefully studied the young mutant's mannerism and barely kept her own laugh down at his reactions. If she could hear Pyro's thoughts she would of full-heartedly agree. This catboy was just too cute. Ooh she couldn't help but fall in love with they adorable little one.

Taking her eyes off of Mittens she stared at Logan as he answered her question. "I'm not sure if I'm expected or not. That blonde girl may have contacted the school but I'm unsure." Yes following a blonde enigma had its risks and one of them was lack of information.

At the mention of this 'blonde girl' Mittens looked up briefly with a calculating look. Was it possible that Miss Lou had met his sister? Putting two and two together faster then a kid his age should of he concluded that they must have met. His curious mind even surmised that their meeting was resent possibly the reason why his sister wasn't standing next to him at that moment.

At Logan's call Lou turned quickly and picked up Elea's carrier without a second look at Pryo or Alix. Without even a 'see-you later' she followed Logan. She new that they would meet up again. Goodbyes weren't necessary.

Mittens too started without even saying bye. It seemed as though this prospected teacher had to see the principle anyways and that was exactly who he wanted to meet. Walking hurriedly in the two adults wake the catboy did something that was totally out of character. He turned and waved cheerfully back at Alix and Pyro. Studying Pyro's excitement for a moment he then turned and ran to catch up to Logan and Lou. Chances were that one way or another he would be in contact with his sister by night fall.

This is a joint post between Alix and Pyro.

She looked thoughtful for a few, brief moments.. eyes shifting about uneasily. ::I.. is it safe? To.. ride it, I mean..:: she didn't respond to the do something later- even if, honestly, she'd be more than excited to do something later. Right now it was remotely clear that she was wound up in the idea of sitting down on a moving metal object that she'd studied to be the source of many a death.

John laughed a little, “With me driving it, Babe, ya couldn’t be safer,” he promised. “But, I can take it back to the garage and meet you back here if ya like?”

She shifted quietly, strange eyes focused on the bike for a few choice moments before she lifted her gaze back to John. ::I... can ride. You wont go too fast, right?:: she questioned with almost nervous uncertainty. It'd be safe.. he'd be safe.. she could trust this....

“I can’t go fast on a path that is meant for walking, not motorbike riding,” he said, grinning. “Don’t want to run anyone over, that would really sit well with the head honcho of this place. I can see it now, Mina trying to ban Logan’s bike from ever being ridden again… like that would ever happen!”

Alix quietly gave a light laugh and nodded. :: ok.. you get on first, though.. I don't know how:: she nodded quietly, looking towards the bike as if it were sprouting horns or something equally evil
Mana says:
He didn’t inform her that he would have to get on first… passengers were better at the back, rather than the front. Covering the distance, he retrieved the helmet Lou had worn, holding it out to her after swinging his leg over. “May only be a short ride, but still better safe than sorry,” he said.

She nodded- more than willing to take the helmet as she pushed it on over her head, smashing her curls, bit at least safe. She moved beside him quietly, and carefully got on- daintily and.. honestly a good deal more girly than most ever managed when getting onto motorcycles. :: ok::

Starting the engine, Pyro did honestly take it a little slower than he normally would have, actually enjoying the fact he was hopefully helping someone to see how wonderful a motorbike could really be. Pulling the bike up beside his own and turning it off, he waited for Alix to disembark, pulling off his helmet.

She held tight, nervously gripping him past what'd be her usual comfort level. When they arrived, she got off, carefully pulling off the helmet before smiling just barely. ::That was kind of fun:: she nodded briefly. ::I'll.. try it again::

Chuckling, the flame manipulator nodded. “Was hoping you would say that. Now, what are you up to now? Anything? I’m heading to the library’s back room for a bit. Got ideas galore for this story I am currently writing. Hadn’t planned on being away from the Stable loft for so long,” he commented. ~Although, for my time to be taken up by you… that’s not so bad,~ he thought, hoping that was well hidden from her telepathic mind.

::I was going to go sit on the roof.. or go to the lake.. but.. if you're going to the library, I'll go too:: she nodded, smiling lightly. While she hadn't mentioned it, his company was exceptionally enjoyable. And, honestly- she felt more.. emotional, in a sense. She'd sort out the logistics of it later. ::If you want me too.. I don't want to interupt your story:: she added quickly- uncertainly.

Titling his head to the side, he thought about it for a moment. “Actually, the roof sounds good. As long as it’s away from everyone, I’m not much caring where it is,” he offered. “You got a book to read, or something to do up there?” he asked.

::I've got a book.. or I'll just think.. but I do have something to do:: she nodded quietly, and gave a light smile. ::the roof is my favorite place. I like the libary too, but sometimes it's too loud.. at least, for me it is:: she gave a light grin, nodding. ::Want me to lead the way?::

John just nodded, “Yeah, sure, go ahead,” he simply said.

She nodded and turned, quietly making her way towards the roof- pleasantly leading the way. When they got there, she easily settled in what was probably her favorite spot, and looked about. ::I like it up here.. there's less.. thoughts. So I can think better:: she nodded quietly. She figured he'd been up here before, since.. well, he'd been at the school a very long while

Looking around, Pyro sat down, his back against one of the air vents. “It must be hard being a telepath sometimes. I know my link with my foster sister can be bad enough. Feeling what she feels at times is real hard to deal with.”

::I'm sure it is.. it's weird especially for people who aren't used to it from their whole lives:: she nodded quietly, and gave a light smile, delicately pulling out a book. ::up here is nice though::
