Finding his way around the school wasn't hard anymore. Two weeks of exploring and looking and getting lost and asking questions had passed. Now he felt that he was a seasoned Vet. and he could walk around the second floor with his eyes closed. This was untrue of course, but it felt about right. The only place left for Arjun to have explore was the sublevels of the mansion. The final frontier so to speak.

He stood inside the elevator going downwards at a high speed. Everything looked so high tech and new, very unlike what he was used to. He hadn't been very rich in Bombay, his parents only have just enough money to get him to the United States. As the doors silently glided open, he walked out into the expansive hall and down to the left. Danger Room. The name had been talked about around him several times since his arrival, but he had never had the courage to ask what it was. It sounded particulary scary.

The halls seemed to never end and when they did, the doors didn't open. Where was he..?

Honestly, Alix wasn't much for the sublevels. The compounds alone made her uneasy and nervous, and the surroundings weren't so pleasant either. But, she still seemed to come around.

The same, it seemed was for today. Quietly the small telepath moved about the glistening hallways of the sublevels, strange eyes traveling over the various insanely complex mechanisms that she, in all her mental capacity, never quite understood. Something about a thing that didn't think, didn't feel, didn't have memories.. made it hard for her to comprehend. It was like pulling an animal from the jungle and putting them into a cage- yes, things were somewhat the same.. but it just wasn't. The data was plastic. Minds.. were real.

And, for this reason, sensing those around her on these levels seemed so much easier- possibly because of the simple fact that many were never down here. Or.. perhaps it was easier. The nullifying compounds in the wall made it harder to hear the things going on above these floors, so throw someone else down there, and he'd stand out like a lamp in a dark night.

Slowly, carefully- Alix moved towards the source of the humanity in the plastic world, and found herself, of all places.. back in the danger room. The last time she'd been here, it'd been on accident, and had sprung her meeting with Wolverine.

::it's the dangerroom.. you can train here to get better understanding of your powers..:: Alix nodded quietly, filling her fellow student in both carefully and nervously-- not everyone could manage being spoken to telepathically.

"Oh, now you are truely blessed." Arjun said very enthusiastically. He'd never met a true telepath before and this simple experience blew his mind. How amazing, he thought, it would be to be able to read minds and control others or just to simple sit in silence and listen to others thoughts. His hand shot out for her to shake as he introduced himself as Arjun.

So the Danger Room actually helped people, not the other way around. That was a comforting thought, yet he still didn't fully understand what it did. Maybe he could participate in a Danger Room Simulation? His powers were mostly defensive, but maybe...

"This is really very cool.."

::I.. not really.. It's just.. a power, like.. everyone elses:: she nodded softly, even though she didn't believe it. While.. not a gift, it wasn't a power like everyone elses. She couldn't just.. not use it, or control it.. it constantly was working, constantly hounding at the back of her mind.

::it's pretty neat.. every simulation is so very realistic:: she nodded quietly, and smiled, looking about quietly before shifting back to Arjun. While Alix herself wasn't authorized to run simulations.. she figured she could get one of the xmen to come supervise, or explain how it really worked, since "it's really realistic" didn't really explain the fact that you could be severly hurt in this thing. It also didn't explain that it could simulate anywhere and anything- sentinals included.

::I think I can maybe get someone to come run one..::

Her teaching duties technically didn't start yet so Lou decided to use her free time to explore every aspect of the mansion. She had already been through all the gardens and had discovered most of the rooms on the upper floor. The only part of her new home she hadn't been in was the sub-basement. Being bored she at last decided to come and check out the place she had heard so much about.

The metallic hallways were something out of a science fiction movie. A low whistle escaped her pale lips as her dark gray eyes marveled at the technology. This place was proving that one day humans wouldn't need to socialize to survive, just stay home all day forgetting to live.

Little down ways in front of her Lou saw two kids. "Hey what are you youngin's doing down here," she declared walking slightly faster toward them. Taking a closer look she recognized one of the kids. ::Ah Alix:: she thought to the young telepath. "How are you?" she questioned with the surprise gone. Turning she faced Arjun and smiled. "Nice to be meeting ya, I'm Lou Tringum. Do you wish to enter this here room?" she said waving her hand at the door leading to the Danger Room.

Arjun nodded to everything alix said quite enthusiastically, thrilled to be around someone so different as the small telepath and to be in the subbasement. His smiler could only widen as Lou walked forward and intorduced herself.

"I'm Arjun. I'm pretty new. Though, i feel like ive been introducing myself alot lately, so i'll spare you the details. Lets just say, Its from far away." He said quikly, his handsome Indian face lighting up. There was an energy in his eyes that most people would be careless not to notice.

What could he do with these two mutants in the Danger Room? He wasn't sure, but it was going to get interesting.

Alex sat quietly in the corner, watching. Actually he wasn't sitting, he was floating. Mainly because he was currently a reddish smoke floating in the corner, stretched so thin you could barley see the reddish tint. He had followed the teacher down into the subbasement, slipping through the cracks in the elevator with ease.

Earlier he tried to pass through the floor to see what was beyond it, but he encountered a totally air tight floor, or really ceiling of the level below. Figuring the Basement button on the elevator meant the basement was the thing below, which proved very hard to get into. Strange for a basement he thought.

So when a teacher went down he slipped into the elevator shaft and wriggled his way into the hallway. He would imagine a insane asylum to look like this, all white. He followed the teacher, all the while a cloud of smoke on the ceiling, doing his best not to block out the light and be discovered.

So there he was, floating in the corner of a obnoxiously white hallway. This seemed a promising way to start his day.

The sudden influx of people seemed to momentarily put her on edge before she quietly adjusted her levels, and.. relaxed.

::hello Lou.. I'm good, and you?:: she nodded pleasantly, though looked towards Arjun quietly. She could easily feel the energy that seemed to radiate from him, quietly analyzing the various attributes of his personality in typical curioust fashion before shfting her gaze about; uncertainly,, as if hearing something else, but not being quite able to pin it. Was it just her.. or was someone else about in the room? For the moment, she said nothing to the others.. but made sure to listen in anyways.

::waht brings you down here?:: she looked back to Lou.

While the others coulding hear it, Alix- as always following the rules, alerted Mina that there were new students wanting to test out the danger room.

"From far away," Lou repeated after Arjun. "Let's just say I'm a northern neighbor," she said without caring if the Indian boy understood that she was from Canada. Anyways it was the energy that radiated off of him that caused her not to care. How could someone be so joyful? It innerved her.

Turning to Alix she smiled. "I'm alright. Just explorin' and counting the days I'm here without notice." she answered without explanation. Knowing full well the small teen was a telepath she tried to hide the reason from her last statement. Those strange men couldn't possibly find her at the mansion and with concern she had begun to wonder what would happen if they did. These were thoughts she tried to hide. It was in hope as well as in vain. She knew not of how powerful the young telepath was.

"I be wonderin' what this Danger Room is about," she had started to say before she so suddenly stopped. All those years of running had provided her with a small sense of knowing when she was being followed. For some reason it went off. Slowly this place had began to feel safe but that all left as she began to look closely trying to spot the one hiding. "Show yourself," she demanded unaware of the reddish smoke of a person floating in the corner.

Arjun was clearly not part of this conversation, not now at least. So he would listen and walk and probally follow them until they told him to shoo. He always felt like that, like the small dog who followed people, instead of being with them. He wasn't sure, but was alix reading his mind all the time or just when she spoke to him? He hadn't analyzed it at first because it didn't seem important, and it still wasn't, but who knows what he'd think about soon.

Awkwardly he stood there half smiling at Alix and Lou when the latter shouted "Show yourself." It shocked him honestly, was there someone around him that he couldn't see, he thought as he looked about. He just wasn't use to this.

"Who is it?" he asked no one in general.

Alex stifled a yawn as he watched them just stand there. It didn't dawn on him for a few seconds that they might all be telepaths. Well that will be fun Alex thought as he considered a conversation with three telepaths, but eventually one talked, so Alex could only assume she wasn't a telepath or at least talked, unlike his mute friend.

Alex agreed with the Canuck when she asked "I be wonderin' what this Danger Room is about," maybe she wasn't a teacher after all. Then maybe they were all 'exploring' like he was. A teacher leading students would know about the danger room. His train of thought was sidetracked when the teacher/student/trespasser did exactly what he hoped no one would do, sense him

Son of a Alex had hoped that none of them were a telepath, other than the mute. When Alex say her he assumed he was made, but she didnt say anything, well she never said anything, but think it to someone. But apparently one of them new he was here, and it didn't matter how they knew.

Alex decided to show himself, and he floated down gracefully, first a cloud of smoke, then a outline of the boy he was, until his details began to return bit by bit. So at the end he was floating there, solid except for his legs, which he kept as billowing smoke, and his hair, which was a thick red smoke, blowing back in a non-existent wind.

"Hello, looks like you found me" was all Alexander said.

Coincidentally enough Mina was downstairs in the lab doing yet more research for another of her pet projects, though she doubted she would be writing a paper on this one anytime soon. It was simply too charged an idea: a swab test that could identify the X-gene before it was even active would have huge implications in this day and age.

She didn't even really know why she was doing it. There was no way she was going to release something like this to the public. Not only would it be a problem for parents who were terrified that their children might be mutants, but who knows, someday they might make it a mandatory test for enrollment into public schools and she simply was not going to contribute to the injustices and stigmas brought on by the prejudice against the mutant race.

It was mostly boredom that drove her down to the lab when she didn't have anything to do in her office. With Meghan in Virginia and school out she found herself with extra time on her hands and she simply did not know what to do with it.

The lab was almost completely quiet, the only sounds being the gentle whir of the air system and the occasional clink as she fiddled around with vials of God knows what and microscope slides. Her hair was pulled back in a messy bun and she wore a pair of simple black slacks that were slightly flared at the bottom and a white satin camisole. A laptop computer was open on the lab table where Mina sat, hunched over a microscope as she fiddled with the magnification and scribbled something down on a pad of paper.

Alix's message interrupted her thoughts and she blinked once, shaking her head slightly. It was always a little disconcerting for someone to jump into her head like that, but being that she was the Headmistress of a school for teenage mutants, she was used to surprises.

"I'll be right there," she said to herself more than anyone else and closed her laptop with a definitive click and pushing away from the table. Briefly she stretched her arms over her head in a stretch before standing and heading out into the one of the many hallways snaking through the Institute's lower levels, grabbing her black knit sweater off the back of a chair on her way out and swinging it over her shoulders.

The hallway she was in was empty and she headed towards the Danger Room, arching a brow slightly as she rounded the corner and spotted the group that had gathered at its door. "Well hello," she greeted, brushing a few loose bangs away from her eyes as she came to stand beside the group. She mostly saw new faces; well, at least they were showing initiative.

Looking to the doors of the Danger Room, she smiled gently. "So, are you all up for a simulation?" she asked, crossing her arms over her stomach.

Alex gave the woman a look over, messy hair, a black sweeter and black pants. It took him a second to recognize the headmistress. She looked very different from her usual clothes. In fact she looked almost like she just got out of bed. Alex hoped they didn't wake her, he didn't want to find out if the she had a temper or not.

Alex, doing his best to sound casual replied " I guess we are". Alex was quick to add himself to the group, but would be just as quick to detach himself if they got in trouble for being in this rather erie subterranean level. The only one Alex knew from the group was Alix, and she wasn't about to say anything. Alex mentally laughed at his own pun. Scolding himself for being a jerk, he seemlesly formed into his physical form, wearing a loose fitting red polo and faded black jeans, and walked next to the other students.

A minute smile danced across Lou pale lips as Arjun asked who was it. She tried to desperately find the one who had been following her. Though she didn't move her dark gray eyes searched quietly. Someone was there and they were not. ~Where ya be hidin'?~

"Hello, looks like you found me" This sudden announcement from the former red haze caused the obsidian black haired woman to jump. Turning she faced the one who had been following. On her pale face she wore a look of, well almost mirroring utter disbelief. Let's just say she wasn't used to be shadowed by mutants. Raising an eyebrow she took the boy's full appearance, from his hair to the absence of legs. "I be correct in assumin' your powers allow ya to control gaseous things," she said to Alex in a non polite tone. He had frightened her.

As she saw the headmistress drawing near Lou smiled. It was a pleasure to see the woman who had allowed for her passion to teach become achievable. Not caring how guilty everyone including herself looked, she just nodded which caused some strands of black hair to fall into her eyes. Brushing them behind an ear she stepped forward away from the group of students.

"It's curiosity that makes us want a simulation," she pointed out. "Um, what ya mean by simulation?" Lou asked with a look of apprehension.

LAlix never did manage well with lots of people, and with the group steadily growing more and more large, Alix just barely attempted to withdraw. But, quietly.. she relaxed. She could do this. ::it's just one of the other students:: she nodded towards Arjun pleasantly, looking towards Alex before he materialized.

::hello Alex:: Alix nodded pleasantly before shifting towards Mina.. ::They've all.. not done the Dangerroom.. and.. I don't think I should explain them to it.. you'd be much better:: Alix nodded softly, looking between everyone around her with a glint of nervousness.

She really was not very good with large groups.. so many people to talk to, so many thoughts.. it was a bit distracting, no matter how she looked at it.
