"I'm sorry," Faye told her, instantly contrite. He got to his feet and walked after her, leaving Eldan standing there confused. He didn't purposely leave her out of the loop or whatever the phrase was. He just got really focused, sometimes. And El… he had it coming. Hiding all the time. Pretending to be so dark and scary when he really was a hero in a true sense. He had made a home for lone mutant children and mundane children to grow up together. The Edraitii was the beginning of something wonderful…

In a lower voice, mischievous, he added, "I'm just messing with him. He still won't admit that he saved me, you see, and is just so determined to be alone..." he waved at the dark haired boy to follow them "... and he's nearly killed me for trying to play matchmaker. So until he actually starts making friends and such I'm going to be driving him batty." The flame haired mutant shrugged. "I just realized that I was preventing him from just that - I'm sorry. If you want you two can go together. I'll just hang out a while longer here, and I'll see you later?"

((ooc- let's skip El, so Magma posts in between him and Faye))

"I'm sorry," Magma looked up, smiling at Faye, “Hey, no problem. I wasn’t looking for an apology,” she verified, glancing past him at Eldan. She listened as Faye went on, catching his gaze again when "I just realized that I was preventing him from just that - I'm sorry. If you want you two can go together. I'll just hang out a while longer here, and I'll see you later?" her mouth falling slightly open, she shook her head. “No, no, again, that’s not what I meant. I was actually joking, but prepared to leave if you two needed to catch up. Nothing worse than a third person just standing around.”

Straightening her skirt a little, there was something about Magma many wouldn’t know, she hated it when people took her the wrong way, in the sense that they thought she was thinking something of them that she wasn’t. “I had asked Eldan to walk me home, since it’s getting late, and even though I am able to look after myself, I would much prefer not to have to shake the earth and reveal myself as a mutant to do so,” she smiled again. “His powers would come in handy… one look and anyone trying anything would scream “Ghost!” and run away scared out of their wits.”

Grinning, Amara let her eyes catch Eldan’s again, “And I am sure it wouldn’t be the first time, right?” she asked.

"Hardly the first time," Eldan replied with a half smile as he caught up with them. He didn't know what Faye had said to her... and it didn't matter. "I make an awesome ghost, though that’s not my neatest power, as fun as the scary factor is. Though I doubt anyone would bother us now; safety in numbers and all that." He shrugged, walking next to Faye as though he hadn't just claimed he hated the red-head and threatened him. As long as he didn't start again, or start to pester him.. the guy wasn't too bad. This day had turned out differently than he’d expected it would. Strangely enough, he didn’t mind that at all.

“Er… where are we headed, anyway?” he asked, glancing from Mara to Faye. After a few moments he blinked, understanding. “The X-Men place, what-ever-it’s-called, you’re in with them Faye aren’t you?” he asked, not really needing an answer. It was almost rhetorical, though not exactly. He didn‘t know for sure... “Mara, are you too? S’that where you two know of each other from?” How exactly he came to that idea, was beyond him, but it seemed to fit. Faye had said that he was going to join the X-Men, so Eldan assumed that he had. Everything else kinda fell into place.

He nearly stopped walking when Eldan questioned them about where they were headed. He hadn't asked in the first place? How like him, accepting a request without even knowing what he was getting himself into. Ah, well, at least it didn't get him into trouble this time. "I'm pretty sure we're headed to Xavier's Institute..." he trailed off and glanced at Mara for confirmation. "That's where I'm going, El, but if Magma here isn't then when we split ways go with her I can quite easily take care of myself." So what if he was a pretty-boy, with no offensive powers, he wasn't a weakling.

"Yes, I'm with the x-men," Faye rolled his eyes. Eldan really didn't keep track of his people very well. Once they left him, which happened every so often.. well, El didn't grudge them their freedom. He did take care of them even when he was little he'd look after everyone, he helped anyone who seemed to need it... and if they wanted to leave and start their own lives rather than help out that was fine with Eldan. At least it seemed that way. It was probably second nature now. Just like it was second nature to push people away. Just like Faye... though he did it in an entirely different way.

Well, Amara had had a feeling going ghost wasn’t his only power. At Eldan’s curiosity about where they were heading, he managed to answer himself before Amara had even opened her mouth. “The X-Men place, what-ever-it’s-called, you’re in with them Faye aren’t you? …Mara, are you too? S’that where you two know of each other from?” Magma glanced between the two, smiling at Faye. “Yes, I am, and yes it is. That place has been my home for almost five years now,” she informed him. “I know it like the back of my hand.”

When Faye asked for verification of whether they were actually heading home Amara just nodded, “I am going home, yes, and you are not going anywhere. Did you let them know before you left? I mean, I know you, you’re likely to just get a spur of the moment I want to go out thing and completely forget,” she said to him, winking at Eldan.

“And we are both X-Men, Junior X-Men,” she further verified. “My powers are volcano based. Pretty much, throw me into lava, and I’ll use it to rise right back up out,” she explained, smiling broadly. It was clear where this one’s love lay… molten lava… most definitely all things orange, destructive, and very, very hot.

"Interesting," Eldan said, not elaborating on what precisely he found interesting or why. So he was going to see the X Institute... good. It would be good to know where it was, in case anything happened - he could take the brats for safekeeping while he and the older Edraitii took care of things. He wouldn't feel comfortable leaving them with the brotherhood, no matter if he didn't like the idea of joining either side, the b.h. just didn't seem like it would be very good for young minds.

“I am going home, yes, and you are not going anywhere. Did you let them know before you left? I mean, I know you, you’re likely to just get a spur of the moment I want to go out thing and completely forget.” The Wraith snorted. She knew Faye, all right. That was Galadrien all over. With a wry twist to his lips, he added, "Or he told someone he didn't know that he was going out, and left before the poor kid could ask him who he was, what he was talking about, and where he was going..." he shrugged. That was Faye, he'd get so focused on one thing he'd forget everything else.

"Volcano-based?" he repeated. That - so the earthquake - was just part of her powers. Very interesting. He noticed her bright smile after a moment, so he smiled back. "You like it? Wait, you said 'throw me into a volcano' - did that happen before?" Eldan looked shocked, as flippantly as she had said that... it seemed that was so.

"As a matter of fact I did tell someone," Faye said, his tone mock-hurt, moments before Eldan spoke. He narrowed his eyes at the dark haired wraith, opened his mouth, and then closed it. Before he opened it again, he had to think about it. "Er... the kid knew me, I'm sure," he finally said, uncertain. "I've seen him, 'round. Little red head, think he has multiple personalities or something..." Galadrien shrugged. Weird that these two people knew him well enough to guess his actions so well. Unsettling actually... "I'm not that predictable, am I?" he asked, frowning. He didn't like to think that he was. Predictably unpredicable, but perhaps that was the problem? He put his hand to his head for a moment, not sure whether he was getting a headache.

He nodded as Mara explained her powers; he'd heard about them before, though not from her. Smiling to himself, and tugging at one of his braids, he mumbled, "Thought lava looked like candy when I was little." It still looked like candy, just now he knew if he attempted to eat it he'd die or something. He so totally did not expect Eldan's reaction - "did that happen before?" - Faye didn't even think of that, let alone consider asking such a thing if he had thought of it. His jaw would've dropped if his mouth wasn't open already to ask how much farther a walk it would be.

Oh, how Amara tried her best not to snicker; to outright laugh at the Wraith‘s comment about Faye. Eldan most certainly did know him, just as their initial meet and greet had so obviously re-enacted that fact. "Volcano-based? You like it? Wait, you said 'throw me into a volcano' - did that happen before?" Magma nodded. “Yep,” she simply said, not elaborating, just letting the two, or just Eldan, absorb that in shock... for a little while at least.

"As a matter of fact I did tell someone," Amara raised an eyebrow. “Oh ho, and he remembered this time,” she commented, rolling her eyes at his next statement, "Er... the kid knew me, I'm sure… I've seen him, 'round. Little red head, think he has multiple personalities or something..." throwing up her hands, Magma just glared at him. “I swear, Faye, it‘s ridiculous, some day you are gonna go off, get yourself hurt, and hope that you trusting someone you don‘t know pays off and will get you rescued,” it was more than clear the lava loving mutant was frustrated again.

"I'm not that predictable, am I?" heck, the voices of a unison yes from her friends resounded in her head, because had he asked that around Iceman, Kitty, Pyro, even Alix, they all would have chorused it straight to his face. It was one of the reasons both Magma and Shadowcat had made a vow to keep an eye on both him, and the other fumbling, over energized younger mutant of the mansion, Kelrian… although, low and behold, neither of the two knew of the girls’ secret little pact.

"Thought lava looked like candy when I was little." that did it, the young blonde haired girl could not hold it back any longer, turning away, still walking as she burst out laughing. “Yeah Faye, candy that’d not only burn your mouth out, but pretty much turn you to ashes in seconds too,” she quipped, then thought she better clarify something. “Okay, look, I was thrown into a volcano back in my home land of Nova Roma… some stupid woman thought she was a goddess or something and wanted my family dead… turns out, that moment my powers decided to manifest. I came up riding the lava like a wave, and managed to stop the priestesses’ reign. Whenever I get the chance, I open up the ground and…” she paused, realising she had probably shocked the two young man to the core by now. “Hey, people surf waves right?” she asked, a grin lighting up her eyes once again… “I surf lava, before it becomes my codename.”

The Wraith just sighed and shook his head at finding he was right about Galadrien. It just figured. Silly git. One day he'd start acting like an adult, and shock the world into a year of silence. Or some such thing. And the guy was surprised that he was predictable? Heh. "Lava... candy?" he nearly choked at the mere thought. "Faye, please tell me you're kidding about that?" Eldan asked. Sure, it was funny, but considering it was Faye... he wasn't quite sure whether he was serious or not, and if he really thought that... well Eldan was just glad about Mara's comment about the burning and ashes. That was something he'd expect only Faye or a child to say. "Fiery delicious?" he added dryly. That was definately something tease the annoying creature about when he won't get off his case. Burning candy of doom. So appetizing.

Finding that he was right about the girl being thrown into a volcano... was just startling. What kind of person would do such a thing... well a 'stupid woman that thought she was a goddess' that might be. He fell silent and his face was blank for a short while. People were just strange. Impossible to understand everyone, useless to try. A small smile appeared on his face. Lava surfing. That must be as fun as flying through the night sky, at least, and was much less common.

She really... she really was thrown into a volcano. That was... twisted. He watched the pavement that as they walked.

Faye ducked his head slightly as Magma glared at him and told him off, and Eldan teased him mercilessly. And as the blonde laughed at him. He just had to say that out loud, didn't he... shouldn'a say the first thing that pops into ones head. He had to stop doing that. It was just… he wouldn’t remember. It wasn’t that he didn’t think, it was that he thought after doing and saying things.

"Fiery delicious?" He glanced at the dark haired teen when he said that, a strange expression on his face. Eldan was unpredictable. Unlike him. From careless to teasing in a matter of moments. And no one, absolutely no one, would believe how he acted around children. Galadrien finally smiled as well. If Eldan thought he had one up on Faye, he was sadly mistaken. If he wanted to keep that dark, scary image that he worked so hard on, that is.

Faye's plotting for Eldan's embarrassment was curtailed as he listened to Mara's explanation of her incident with the volcano. The stuff he went through with his family... that was petty when it was compared to what almost everyone else he knew were put through. How could she not let that kind of thing get her down? When people were so awful?

OOC: New piccie of Faye has short hair, so playing it out here… lol. Tell me to edit if I am supposed to picture long hair on Hayden. ^^

It was clear she had pretty much shocked both Eldan and Faye into silence by the revelation that she had indeed been thrown into a volcano. Should she say something? Try to reassure them? Nah, probably best to change the subject completely. Then she noticed something… where in the world had all Faye’s hair gone, and why hadn’t she noticed that before? It wasn’t like someone she knew having long hair, suddenly having it short could be missed… really… right? Yet, she’d missed it, until now. Throwing Galadrien sideways glances as they continued to walk, Amara ‘hmmed’ to herself, and out loud too.

Finally turning up Graymalkin Lane, Mara couldn’t take it anymore, she turned, stepping right in front of Faye, forcing him to stop. “What in the world did you do to your hair? What possessed you to cut off those gorgeous locks?” she asked, it clear she was taken by long hair on guys, as long as it suited them. “And I must be going blind not to notice it earlier,” she shook her head. “No, I was frustrated, that’s it… day went to hell in a hand basket,” all of a sudden, she smiled, looking at Eldan, “Well, that was until you came along,” then her gaze went to Faye, “and even you too.”

Any girl would have to admit, when two guys came to your rescue, how could they not be chuffed about it… well, the rescue was after the fact, but still… Magma was quite pleased with her current company, Faye’s idiocrasis not included.

OOC: Well he's cutting it off - has cut it off. I'll just play along with it.

When Magma cut in front of Galadrien and made a big deal about him cutting his long pretty hair off, Eldan stopped and blinked... Faye had cut all of his hair off. Except for a few random braids, which really needed to go. How had he not noticed that?

Then again, Mara hadn't noticed either, until now. It was just... such a mass of orangey red that Faye did look rather different with it gone. Less likely to be mistaken for a girl, and El assumed that was the reason Faye had cut it off. The feminine red-head was rather touchy about his looks, though not many people knew about it unless they witnessed his temper over the subject.

The dark haired wraith took a step closer to his annoying friend and tugged one of the braids. "What was the point of chopping your hair off if you left these? They look ridiculous. Especially on you. If you're trying to look more like the guy you're supposed to be, at least." He smirked. Completely cruel, likely to provoke some wrath, and oh-so-true.

"Pleasure to be of service, Ma'am," El mock-bowed, some of his black hair flipping in front of his eyes. He shook the hair out of his face and made a face. “But really.” A genuine smile, from Eldan. It didn’t look quite natural to him.

The red-haired Seer stopped abruptly and put a hand to his head without thinking. "You don't like it?" He looked from Mara to Eldan and back. He had thought that it was an improvement and was somewhat disconcerted that it wasn't so. Perhaps he should’ve gotten someone else to do it. It was a little uneven, as well… and rather shorter than he’d meant to cut it.

At Eldan's comment about his braids, Faye paled slightly, a sure sign of his anger. "Don't get me started," Faye said, raising an eyebrow when the Wraith's mock-bow was hampered by his long black hair.

He had kept the braids simply to irk his father;. He'd cut the rest off because it seemed that his younger sister Rilkia was convinced that her big brother Galadrien was in fact a girl - a theory clearly fostered by their brother Saryn. It was... annoying, and somewhat embarrassing.

"And even me?" Galadrien pretended hurt. "I see. My presence isn't as important as Wraith's. Oh, you're so lucky that this is one of his good days. Er, nights. Usually he's a miserable brat." He smiled brightly at the energy thief to take any possible sting out of that statement. Even though it was completely true. Eldan was as moody as they come. His friendly sarcasm of today was completely unexpected and somewhat rare.

"Pleasure to be of service, Ma'am," El mock-bowed, some of his black hair flipping in front of his eyes. He shook the hair out of his face and made a face. “But really.”

Amara was already staring at him, due to a rather cruel act, followed by nasty words towards Faye about leaving behind a few braids; braids that she was actually quite glad he’d chosen not to cut off… his long hair had been a drawing point for her, now that it was short… Mara smiled. Didn’t make one ounce of difference, he was still candy for the eyes, or, um, at least hers. Simply giving Eldan a mixture of a smirk and frown, she turned her attention back to Galadrien, waiting for his explanation.

"You don't like it?" Magma immediately shook her head. “No, no, I didn’t say I didn’t like it. I’m just shocked all of that red hair is gone… it was getting so long too, and now it’s,” she pouted, like, honestly pouted, “it’s gone.” Okay, so she just gave away a major hint that she’d been looking at him a lot, because of his hair… no, not just because of his hair, that was just the first thing she’d noticed when he’d first come to the mansion…

Goths and long hair… call her weird, call her wrong… it was just her thing…

Goths and long hair…

The lava loving young woman rolled her eyes at his “My presence isn't as important as Wraith's,” comment, his follow up statement causing her to give Eldan a questioning look. “Oh really? So, how bad does your mood get?” she asked, stopping suddenly; they’d reached the driveway leading up to Xavier’s.

Faye was so touchy about his looks... he really shouldn't have said anything. Oh well. Too late to feel bad about not thinking. Mara's words about Faye's hair was probably enough to salve the red-head's ego in any case.

He was silent - did Faye really think that his presence was unimportant? It sounded like he was joking, but there was a seriousness in his eyes that hinted that he meant it. He remained silent until Faye called him a miserable brat. He frowned at his friend, who was smiling at him. He stuck his tongue out at him and said, "Brat yourself." Which made absolutely no sense and wasn't supposed to.

“Oh really? So, how bad does your mood get?”

His lips quirked. Truth was, he was a melodramatic fool as much as Faye at times, except darker and more sarcastic. And ... unlike Faye he lashed out at others instead of himself. "My mood gets quite foul, I assure you." He was being truthful, no point in lying about it.

He stared at the driveway where she'd stopped. So they were there. The dark haired youth was feeling a little figity. He couldn't see the place. He wasn't sure why, but if he did he had a feeling that he'd lose something. Perhaps his resolve. He shrugged, "I think half the people at home are terrified of me."
