Time of Day: Morning Place in Timeline: After New Year Flipping closed the file in front of him, Warren got to his feet and stretched, wings unfurling with a quiet ruffle of feathers. He picked up the rest of the files and walked across to the filling cabinet in the corner of his classroom. He'd been part of various teams over the year and even lead a few so he was fairly used to it, and since he'd been assigned the Paragon Squad he had been making an effort to read up on the mutants in his team. The woman in the last file he had read hadn't yet been informed of her position on his team, so finding her and letting her know was his first goal that day. Hopefully he could get to know her a bit as well. Warren had a strange feeling of deja vu as he walked down the main stairway in the Mansion. He was fairly sure that he spent a good part of his days walking around the Institue looking for people. Ari, Scott, Jean, and people like that he had the phone numbers of and could easily ring them up to find out where they were but the young woman he was looking for today, he had never been properly introduced to. He knew of her, the basics, like the white streaks in her hair, how her powers worked and how she had to keep her skin covered. He had recently been assigned to the Paragon Squad Group, and as he barely knew the majority of his team, he was working to change that as soon as possible. Most of the others had fairly a regular presence around the Mansion, but Rogue was a little different, but far more ambiguous and elusive. Eventually he arrived in the gardens, stepping out into the cool morning air. His eyes alighted on one of the benches and a solitary feminine figure, white sections showing in her brown hair. She didn't seem to occupied with anything in particular so he walked forwards. "Rogue?" he questioned, ducking his dark blonde head under the low hanging branches of one of the trees as he moved towards the bench. "Hey, can I talk to you for a moment?" he asked, giving her a friendly smile. |

Ahh, the morning air was crisp. The sun was shining, it was a few hours till the warmest part of the day after all. But either way, it was about the time Rogue decided to be on her way alone. It was a usual thing she often did at the school. The southerner usually kept to herself and for the most part she liked it that way. But then she didn't want to keep away from people because it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be from being alone. Then again, this way she didn't get to close to people to harm them in anyway if she kept arm's length. Sure, her skin was all covered up and it worked out great for this time of year since it was cold. But Rogue didn't want to be covered up all the time. Could you blame the girl? Not ever being able to feel another's touch unless it was for her to either know something that was in their mind for her personal gain or for their powers. But that was something she did not want to have to do. She learned the hard way of why it wasn't the best thing to do, thanks to the effects. After sitting on the bench in silence, her attention towards the ground to the right of her. Having to be out here because of the younger students running around in the school not watching what there doing. This way she was able to be alone and not have a slip up. That was until someone called her attention. Watching the man ducking his head under the branch, it was the billion dollar playboy himself, Warren Worthington. "Hey, can I talk to you for a moment?" seeing the friendly smile, she returned it to him. Sliding over to the side from being in the middle of the bench. "Ah didn't do anythin' wrong, did ah?" the smile faded and her eyebrow rose as she looked up at him. After all, he wasn't a short guy. |

Warren was glad to see that she easily returned his smile and slid over to make room for him. At least his hunt hadn't been in vain so far, and he hadn't annoyed her by interrupting something important. He moved forwards and sat down in the space she had made for him, turning his body towards her so they could talk properly. Shifting his wings so they folded a little more neatly and comfortably behind him, Warren gave a soft chuckle as she asked whether she had done something wrong, listening to the gentle lilt her accent gave the words. Clearly he was so infrequently in contact with the younger students and X-Men around the Mansion that they assumed it was something bad when he did approach them. "No, no, you haven't done anything wrong" Warren assured her quickly, giving a slight shake of his head "It's actually good news. Or what i hope will be good news..." he added with a grin. "There has been a bit of re-arranging of the training groups, and I've been given Paragon, which you are now part of." He explained. "I'm not sure if you were on there already but from what i understand, the team hadn't really been brought together." "Anyway, I just want to find you and let you know what was going on. I'm sort of shuttling between the Mansion and the City at the moment so I don't have as much time as I'd like around here, which, I guess, explains why we haven't really met before. Well that and the Mansion has grown a lot since I was a student. There was only six of us back then." Warren told her, quirking a grin in her direction. It was true that while he knew about most of the residents, he hadn't really met them all, even at more communal events like the dinner and the bonfire at the end of summer He continued on, deciding to say his piece, and let her know what was happening. "That's another reason why I wanted to find you, it didn't seem right to have you as a member of the training squad but not know you." he said with a slight shrug and another smile at her. "Basically, if you need any help with anything or want to do some training, i hope you'll feel comfortable enough to come to me about it." he added, giving a nod. Finally done, he glanced around, looking at the gardens stretching out in front of them and then looked back at her, recalling how he had found her alone. "Were you just trying to get some peace and quiet out here?" he questioned "I didn't interrupt anything, did i?" he asked, friendly curiosity showing in his eyes as he waited for her answer. |

Watching Warren with his large beautiful wings, she could help but to stare for a complete second. They are one of the most amazing things she had even seen. Then when he sat, Rogue looked up at him to listen to what he had to say. No matter if it was good or bad but hopefully it wasn't that bad. "It's actually good news. Or what i hope will be good news..." The southerner smiled a little. "Ah'm sure if ya think it's good news that ah'm sure it'll be." she smiled a little, leaning back a little with her one arm resting on the back of the bench. But then when he mentioned about the groups, Rogue shook her head. "Ah believe ah was on Hellions...ah think." the mutant frowned her brows, trying to remember which one she was on as her eyes dropped to the ground. "Either way." she looked back up at him, "It doesn't matter now seein' as ah'm on ya team now." she said then listened as he continued. "Are they a lot of people ya need ta follow up on besides, lil' ol' meh?" curious if Warren knew everyone else besides Rogue. "Basically, if you need any help with anything or want to do some training, i hope you'll feel comfortable enough to come to me about it." Feel comfortable enough to come to him about anything? Would that even be possible for someone like Rogue to be able to do? Sure, it was very kind for Warren to say that. It was just, Rogue had so many issues with trusting people. She wasn't sure if she could just spill her guts to just anyone. But at least the idea of it is left in the back of her mind of Warren wanting to be a help. You can never really have to many people that generally, actually wanna help. "Tha trainin' sounds like somethin' that might be interestin' ta do later on." she tilted her head. "Ya havin' group trainin' or one on one trainin'?" she asked curiously, nothing by it really. Just more curious if he liked to worked one on one when training or work as a group. At least Rogue could think of a few members that would want a one on one with Warren. "I didn't interrupt anything, did i?" Rogue shook her head, "Now, don't go worrin' ya'self there, suagh. Ah really wasn't doin' anythin' anyway. Just sittin' out here just for somethin' ta do, honestly." she explained, because she really didn't have anything to do when he showed up there. |

"Are they a lot of people ya need ta follow up on besides, lil' ol' meh?" curious if Warren knew everyone else besides Rogue. "As far as I know, the rest of them are aware of their position. For some reason you slipped through the net. So I'm sorry about that." Warren replied, his smile apologetic. "I'll be tracking down the others as well, just to have a chat. I don't know if you've met any of them." he tilted his head back a little, eyes looking towards the garden as he recalled all the names. "We've got....Shadowcat, Magma, Gambit, Faye and then the students are Mordred, Ventus and Want. Not a bad bunch." he said with a wink. She expressed an interest in the training and then questioned what format is would take. "Hopfully both. I'm still working out how the groups powers are going to fit together and also how much training each individual has had. Obviously some people are going to need extra training so that would probably be one one one, but I'd like to keep you all together as much as possible. It's not just about training, it's also about giving guys more interaction because I'd say fitting in here is pretty daunting." he explained. "But if you want to do som individual training, let me know and i'll organise something. Reading files is all very well, but they only give a very limited view and I'm afraid I don't totally understand the range of your powers." He had read the powers section of her file of course, but he still wasn't certain as to what she actually possessed other than the absorbtion and the flight and enhanced strength she had gained from elsewhere. Warren had tried to imagine going through life never touching anyone, never feeling someone else's skin against your own, and if you ever did feel that, knowing that you could possibly kill them, but it was impossible. The fact that Rogue lived with it every day was remarkable. They all had downsides to their powers of course; Scott has to keep his glasses on, Alex had to wear his suit, Avery, Hank and Warren himself had to hide their mutations if they wanted to go out in public, but is seemed as if Rogue had really got the raw end of the deal. "Now, don't go worrin' ya'self there, suagh. Ah really wasn't doin' anythin' anyway. Just sittin' out here just for somethin' ta do, honestly." "That's good. I'm glad I didn't interrupt anything" Warren said with a slight nod and a smile. "So are you okay with the team? Do you know any of the members?" he asked, looking to engage her conversation a little bit longer. |

"As far as I know, the rest of them are aware of their position. For some reason you slipped through the net. So I'm sorry about that." Rogue shook her head. "It must not help that ah ain't in one place all tha time." she shrugged her shoulder, "Just tend ta be in many difference places...it ain't ya fault. Just not really all that use ta someone wantin' ta find meh ta talk." then she listened to him continue about which people were on the team. When she heard him say not a bas bunch and winked. She smiled a little more then before. "Oh no, ain't all that bad." she shook her head with a smile. The southerner listened as he explained on how the training sessions worked. With how he was intending on having both kinds, she nodded. Then when he mentioned about if she felt she needed just one on one with him, Rogue wasn't sure about that. Sure, it might have been a good idea. And with a nice looking instructor, how could you go wrong? Then again, Rogue wasn't blind when it came to someone having an outer appearance that was different from everyone else. He had wings, that was how he was able to fly and was his mutation. How would it effect her if she touched him by mistake in the danger room? Would she pick up the same quality that he has with his mutation? Most likely yes. That was when he said about not understanding her mutation all that much. With a sigh that passed her lips, she decided to explain. "Mah mutation is through skin contact." she started to look down at her glove hands while not looking up till the end. "When ah touch someone, ah absorb their mutation, memories, thought they have, outward appearance, an' their life." she said as though it was like a broken record-that is to her but not most people-. She said it so much to the people that have met her already. "It's why ah'm always wearin' these types of suits." When he asked about the team, if she was alright with it. And if she knew any of the other members, "Ah've haven't really met all of 'em. Can't say ah've met them all." she said straight to the point. "Heard about some of 'em from tha halls." she said as she thought about the people he said. "Well, ah've met Gambit sometime ago." she drifted off as she thought about it some more. "Ta tell ya tha true, ah think thats tha only one." Rogue knew more of the older clan of mutants. Not to much of the students. But it seemed kinda bad if she had been there for that long and not know a lot of people. |

"Mah mutation is through skin contact. When ah touch someone, ah absorb their mutation, memories, thought they have, outward appearance, an' their life." Warren heard the sigh, and realised that she had probably had to repeat this a many times before, to many different people in different situations. He felt sort of guilty for asking her to do it again, but there was no one better to help him understand her powers than the person who had them. Though maybe she didn't really understand them so much herself, he mused as he watched her fix her gaze on her hands and not lift it until she was at the end of her explanation. He gave a nod, waiting until she looked up so he could catch her eye and give her a reassuring smile. "Thank you. It always helps to hear about these things from the person who it affects." Well, ah've met Gambit sometime ago." she drifted off as she thought about it some more. "Ta tell ya tha true, ah think thats tha only one." "That's not a problem. You'll meet them soon enough. And we're kind of in the same boat if I'm honest." He gave her a smile, and then got to his feet. He had a class to teach soon, and though he would like to remain and get to know Rogue a little better, he was pushed for time now. He hoped she'd take up his offer of some training together, and that time could be used for working each other out. He didn't think mentoring was a particular strong point of his, but he hoped his team members, Rogue included, would feel okay to come and see him if they had a problem. "I've got a class to teach in ten minutes, so I'm going to have to head off." he explained apologetically "...but it was a good to meet you finally. I'll send some details your way when I work out a team training session, and feel free to contact me if you want some one on one work." he told her, giving an amiable smile before heading back up towards the Mansion.
