Time of day: February 14th, morning
Place in the time-line The Day of the Wedding, before the wedding party starts getting ready

The wedding and the reception were taking place at the school, in the garden and in the ballroom respectively, but Scott and Jean were going to do it right and take a limo to the airport afterwards to start their honeymoon. Somehow, entirely on accident Alex had booked the car for the entire day, which after some manipulation on his part had appeared to be their error, so they gave it to him at the price of an hour, not willing to potentially offend clients with the wealth of Charles Xavier estate. The Professor's death or disappearance notwithstanding, he was still listed as one of Forbes Fortune 500 until he was legally declared, which he was not, since as far as Mina and Scott, the custodians of his estate, were concerned, it was not a certainty.

So, even though there was nothing the driver had to do but sit around and read the paper in the limo, Alex had decided to take advantage of the situation, which was, of course, why he created it in the first place. After all, Alex had not booked just any old limo. Not for his technophile speed freak of a big brother. Oh no. Alex had booked the Ferrari Modena Gullwinged Stretch limo, the limo version, in his mind, of the Blackbird. Eschewing the seating for six in favor of a modified horseshoe configuration, all the better for a snuggling newlywed couple, Alex had covered everything he thought Scott would want, but he just couldn't help sneaking it out for a ride. After all, there were hours to go before the wedding.

It was still early, not yet noon when the 23 foot car pulled up in front of X-Factor headquarters, and the gull wing door slid up. Alex, not dressed in his tux in its entirety, just the pants and the shirt, the jacket, tie and vest left behind, stepped out, and headed upstairs to Dani's room. He knocked a gloved hand on the door, "My lady, your chariot awaits."

Dani was running late, as per usual, but really, what did Alex expect? She just wasn’t the early bird type, and as far as she was concerned anything before noon was early. At least Alex had promised her she could nap at the school if she needed to, though she doubted she would. Once she was up, she was up…it just took her a while to get up sometimes.

Her alarm had gone off at 9, then again at 9:30, but it wasn’t until a little after 10 that she dragged herself out of bed and into the shower. The hot water helped to wake her up – or maybe that was the cocaine…oh well, no matter – and she spent the next hour and a half or so getting ready. The actual ceremony wasn’t until dusk and she certainly wasn’t going to sit around that long in her nice new dress. God knows what could happen to it in that time, and she just wasn’t going to risk it.

Instead she’d opted for her nicest pair of jeans and a simple scoop-neck three-quarter sleeved top. It was one of the nicest she owned, and as she put on the finishing touches to her make-up and looked at her reflection in the mirror, she almost didn’t recognize herself. She’d straightened her hair and pinned back just the front pieces with a simple barrette. Her makeup was light, with most of the emphasis around her eyes to bring out the blue in them.

She could barely believe it, but she actually looked…nice.

Just as she was tossing her eyeliner into her bag for touch-ups later on a knock sounded on her door, and she grinned slightly at Alex’s words as he called to her. “Coming!” she replied as she practically skipped to the door, still in her bare feet. “I’m almost ready, just give me a minute,” she said as she opened the door for him, ushering him inside quickly. She gave his attire a quick once over and grinned slightly at the thought of what he might look like in the full tux.

Practically bursting with energy she gave him a quick hug, being careful not to put wrinkles in his shirt. “Well would y’look at that…Alex Summers, you sure do clean up good,” she teased as she plopped down on the couch to pull on her tennis shoes. She had a pair of heels in the same bag she’d tossed her make-up in, and the dress Alex had bought her was still in its plastic bag from the store, hanging on the back of the front door.

“So, how was the party last night?” she asked with a grin. “Did the X-boys get wild and crazy and completely wasted?”

“Well would y’look at that…Alex Summers, you sure do clean up good,”

Alex peered at her and then made a show of leaning out and looking up at the number over the door like he was in the wrong place. "Oh, I'm sorry, I was looking for Dani's room. I don't know who this fresh faced good girl is." She looked gorgeous, even without her dress, almost... well, almost sweet. She commented on his attire and he smirked, "Wait until you see the whole thing. Every girl's crazy for a sharp dressed man."

“So, how was the party last night?” she asked with a grin. “Did the X-boys get wild and crazy and completely wasted?”

Alex plopped down on the couch and put his head back, "I don't know about the rest of them, but I am still completely wasted. I'm pretty sure the sun was coming up when we finally got in." His hand idly reached out, and stroked her side. His eyes were closed, and he'd clearly had a little hair of the dog, but he wasn't drunk or anything. Just tired and more than a little stressed out. "I'm going to be glad when this is over," he told her, "I am so not being involved with the next wedding around here unless I am the groom, and even then, I plan on just chugging champagne from the bottle and letting people do everything for me."

He sat up, "You ready? Wait until you see the limo. It is killer. Scotty's a speed demon, for being such a straight laced goody good, so we got this spaceship of a limo. Wow. I may just skip out of the wedding and live in this sucker for the rest of my life."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I was looking for Dani's room. I don't know who this fresh faced good girl is."

Dani rolled her eyes but was inwardly quite pleased by the compliment as she tugged him inside the apartment. "Oh hush up," she muttered, hiding the small smile on her lips as she bent over to put on her shoes. She felt the couch sag beside her and glanced to Alex as he plopped down and relaxed.

"I don't know about the rest of them, but I am still completely wasted. I'm pretty sure the sun was coming up when we finally got in."

She chuckled quietly and leaned back as well, cuddling up against his side briefly and fiddling with the collar to his shirt. "Did you get any sleep?" she asked with a teasing grin. "Or were you up all night getting your big brother drunk and playing footsie with strippers? Didja get your swerve on?" she joked, poking him in the ribs lightly with tickling fingers.

The talk turned towards their mode of transportation and she sat up suddenly to look at him, eyes slightly wide. "Did you say 'limo'?" she said. "As in, limousine?" She was astonished for a few moments; never in her life had she ridden in a limo, never even dreamed that she'd get the chance. But here it was, and she was ready to pounce on it.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" she demanded to know as she jumped up and dragged him off the couch with her. "Let's go. I want to see this fancy-schmancy limo." She grinned cheekily and picked up her bag before snagging her dress off the back of her door, waiting a bit impatiently for Alex to follow.

"Ha, we got him better than drunk," Alex snickered, "God, you haven't lived until you've seen Scott Summers on a bender. Did you know he is a damn good dancer? Turns out he taught himself in the Danger Room to impress Jean, worked at it until he was actually pretty good. He needed about eight hundred shots before he did it though, and with his knee..." He chuckled, "Absolutely a riot."

She tickled him, teasingly and he didn't squirm away, his hand coming to a rest on her thigh, fingers dangerously close to warmer, sweeter places. "I think I had about three hours of sleep, but I had a quick sunbath and that perked me up a bit. Side benefit of being solar powered, I guess."

He smiled as she got all excited about the limo, and he said, airily, "Oh you've never been in a limo. Psssh, I ride around in them all the time... or at least every time one of my siblings gets married. So... twice. I've ridden in Limos twice, but nothing like this one. You are going to flip. I swear if we tip the driver he'll fire the rocket jets under the tail and we'll make orbit."

He got to his feet and took her garment bag from her, "Allow me?" Wandering over to Alister's room, he knocked on the door, and called, "Alister, we're heading out for the wedding. I left a reservation with the cab company if you want to come, we're going to get started at dusk."

That done, Alex took Dani's hand in his free one and they headed downstairs to where the limo awaited. "There she blows," he told her, "She's something, huh?"

Dani giggled quietly at the description Alex gave of his brother at the bachelor party. She'd only met Scott Summers once and had barely spoken five words to him then, but just from that initial meeting she could tell that he wasn't prone to wild drunken nights with no regrets. It made the mental image her mind was forming of its own accord all the more hilarious, and she hid her face in her hands to stifle her laughter.

He teased her about not having ridden in a limo before but she merely rolled her eyes, grinning. "Well excuse me for being deprived of the little things in life," she said, bumping him with her hip as he took the garment bag from her. They slipped out into the hall and she locked the one lock on her door, thinking for a moment how glad she was that she didn't have a billion and one locks like a certain broody telepath she knew.

At the thought of Aingeru her mind started to wander, and she recalled the murderous look on his face when he'd stumbled in on her and Alex that night after the club. It confused her more than anything else, but she knew she didn't like the funny feeling she got in her stomach when she thought she might have hurt him. That didn't help to alleviate her perplexed feelings, though, so when Alex took her hand and led her downstairs, she concentrated on the heat radiating from his hand to distract herself from her thoughts. Out of sight, out of mind...or something like that.

If it had been physically possible, her jaw would've dropped straight onto the steps the moment they stepped outside of the building. "Oh...my...God...no freakin' way." She looked to Alex for confirmation, like she was worried she was dreaming. "Are you fucking serious?!" Without waiting for a response she practically leapt off the stairs, landing nimbly on her feet on the sidewalk.

"Holy shit, Alex, this has got to be the coolest car ever," she proclaimed, her words somewhat childish in her enthusiasm. "My dad would love this..." She trailed off, growing quiet as that excited light faded from her eyes just a bit. It was the first time she'd ever really mentioned a parent of any kind in a positive way, but when the driver opened the gull wing door for them, she pushed her thoughts away.

Glancing back to Alex as she climbed into the car, she gave him a teasing, somewhat naughty look. "Oh, this is going to be soooo much fun."

He caught the mention of her dad, and was surprised. She didn't talk about her family, but then, Alex and Dani and not done a great deal of talking when they were together, and from her look as she climbed into the limo, conversation was not first and foremost on her mind. He followed her inside and as the driver closed the door, Alex said, "How about once around the city before you head us back."

The driver smiled and nodded his head, "You're the boss, sir." He took his seat, smirking to himself. This car, good lord, he'd been driving limos for twenty seven years and he never saw more people getting it on than in the back of this one. It was a pretty piece of machinery, and the girl his latest client was picking up had reacted the way every other girl did when confronted with the Ferrari Modena.... It got their blood flowing.

Alex settled next to Dani, and said, "The Champagne's for the bride and groom, but there's a fully stocked minibar in this thing. You got a preference?" he asked, as, he leaned in and kissed her, a soft nip at her lips, "Or, you just want to have cheap tawdry sex in this fucking amazing car? Because, I have to tell you, the only thing sexier than this limo is the thought of you and I together in this limo."

Dani stashed her bag on one of the empty seats and then spent the next few minutes investigating every nook and cranny in the backseat, pressing all the buttons and fiddling with the controls to the sound system. She'd grown up in California, spent some time in LA, seen lots of glitz and glamor, but this car had it all beat, hands down, no ifs, ands, or buts. It was, by far, the coolest thing she'd ever seen.

She slid along the slick leather towards Alex as he climbed in the car, grinning cheekily at his order to the driver. "Isn't your school, like...two hours away?" she asked with a teasing glint in her eye. "And you're asking him to drive around first?" She trailed her fingers along his chest, circling her fingers around the rings on his containment suit that were hidden beneath his shirt, though she knew they were there. "Damn, you must be charged up."

"The Champagne's for the bride and groom, but there's a fully stocked minibar in this thing. You got a preference?"

Dani arched an eyebrow. "Holy crap, Alex, it's not even noon yet. Shit," she muttered with a small shake of her head. "And they call me an alcoholic," she joked. While truthfully she didn't really give a damn, especially considering the fact that she could sober up from piss-ass drunk in about 20 minutes, she didn't want to get started so early that she ended up making Alex look bad around all his 'people'. It was a strangely conscientious thought on her part, but she was judged enough as it was and didn't need another label stuck on her immediately. Let's wait until the reception at the very least.

Alex leaned in and nipped at her lips in a soft but heated kiss, and the heated look she gave him was answer enough. She cast a glance towards the front of the limo just as the driver was checking his rearview mirror and she grinned, reaching over and holding down the button that raised the divider between the two sections.

"Now that's much better," she murmured lowly as she twisted slightly on the seat to face him, letting her hand rest on his thigh. She plucked gently at his tuxedo pants, smirking slightly. "I hope you're handy with an iron, because when I'm done with you, you're gonna need it."

"Holy crap, Alex, it's not even noon yet. Shit," she muttered with a small shake of her head. "And they call me an alcoholic,"

Alex shrugged, "Suit yourself. I need a bit of the hair of the dog, you know." He tipped back a tiny bottle of scotch, no bigger really than a shot glass and he gave an exaggerated shudder. "Mmm, the good stuff," He smiled, "And, come on, the wedding's like at 5:30, and it's what? Barely ten? If that? We've got plenty of time."

She raised the window and Alex laughed, "He's seen it all before, believe me. So much sex has been had in this car that I wouldn't be surprised to find a condom machine installed next to the fridge. This creator of this car was some lonely car maker somewhere, single, probably a techno-dork like my brother, and he thought, 'Y'know, I really need to get laid. How can I make a limo that instantly rips women's clothes off, and makes men have to change their drawers just by looking at it. Ferrari... yes... Ferrari...." He laughed and said, "Sadly, he was killed in the mad stampede of blond busty babes who couldn't control themselves when they saw it." He slipped a hand into her hair and said, "But whatta way to go."

She commented on wrinkling his tuxedo pants, and he shrugged, "We'll just have to take them off, then I guess. I see no alternative." He smiled, self mockingly, "Aw, yes, the Summers charm..."

Dani arched a brow as he tossed back the minuscule bottle of scotch. "Dude, it's almost noon," she clarified with a bit of a smirk. While she was tempted, she knew that all of those little bottles combined would give her only a slight buzz at the most, and that just seemed kind of pointless, especially when Alex seemed so keen on getting an early start to the day's festivities. She'd wait until later...probably.

She grinned a bit evilly as Alex mused that the driver had probably seen everything in this car already. "He probably likes watching...pervert," she joked with a little snicker. "Think he's got cameras back here?" she whispered conspiratorially in his ear, catching his earlobe between her teeth and giving it a gentle yet firm tug.

The talk turned -- as it normally did between them -- to their clothes, or more precisely, how they were going to get rid of them. She slid to the floor, her hands resting on the tops of his thighs as she knelt on the floorboard between his knees. "I was talking mostly about your shirt, but if it's your pants you're worried about..."

A mischievous, wicked smile curved her lips as she slid up his body, pressing her lips against the pulse point on his neck before nipping at his throat just slightly. She could tell he'd taken a shower earlier that morning and she breathed in deeply, inhaling the clean, fresh scent of him, the fragrance of his Axe body wash lingering on his skin.

"He probably likes watching...pervert," she joked with a little snicker. "Think he's got cameras back here?"

"I hope so," Alex moaned as she bit his ear, "I want a copy of the dvd." She teased him by sliding between his knees and when she rose up to nip at his throat he closed his eyes. He'd told himself he wasn't going to do this, but he had to... he... just had to. She was something that drove his sense out of his head, something that he could only respond to on the primal level, and in his desperate desire to help her find what she needed, he was doing the exact wrong thing.

He didn't know how to stop it, and dammit, when he was in this state, he didn't know how to make himself want to. She teased him about the shirt and he nodded, "Like any of it matters," he murmured, "I just want to feel you, that's all..." He cut off his words, for the name he was about to say wasn't her's, and for all they were together, for how bad they could be, for how much harm they did to the damage so deeply ingrained in their psyches, he did not want to hurt her, not on purpose, and saying the name that he so desperately wished to say would be hurtful.

Alex Summers was a asshole and a weak idiot of a man, but he was not a cruel one. He grabbed her and pulled her to him, pressing his lips to hers violently, passionately.

"I hope so," Alex moaned as she bit his ear, "I want a copy of the dvd."

She laughed low in her throat. "I bet he charges extra for that," she mused with a grin. "Probably puts it on the net, too, and makes all sorts of cash. We should check youtube later, just in case," she joked, idly dancing her fingers up and down his thigh, raking her nails gently down his legs, teasing against his inner thighs.

They were so bad for each other, or maybe she was just bad for him, but either way, Dani wasn't likely to care. She wasn't likely to even realize it, actually. All she knew was that Alex made her feel something, something aside from the fear and despair that churned in her mind. So what that she would never love him, never care for him as anything more than a friend? Dani didn't see a problem with it, which perhaps proved how damaged she really was.

Alex grabbed her and pulled her to him, kissing her harshly, and she didn't need any more encouragement. She sank into him, into the feel of him, losing herself in taste and touch, and the sensation of hot skin against slick leather.

The limo driver smirked as he took the Central Park Road, for his own pleasure, really, since he was very aware that his passengers were not paying one damn bit of attention to anything other than the touch and taste and scent and sight of each other. The guy was obviously bombed even this early in the day and the girl was a bit skanky, but what the hell did he care? He once had a rapper in there with with two fat chicks and what was most likely a trannie. As long as they paid, and didn't leave him any sticky messes he didn't give a damn what the rich folks did back there.

If the driver's disinterest or disdain or whatever occurred to the pair in the back, then they were doing it wrong. Because Dani was beyond skilled, and Alex, well, he wasn't without his own talents. After all, Alex was known for seeking approval, and so, he made sure that he gave as good as he got, if not better. A generous lover, very generous, and Dani, was the recipient of his good will several times as the Limo made its slow way around the city, drawing looks from those it passed. They had no idea what was going on in the back.

Or maybe they did.

Alex, at last, sprawled beside her on the floor of the limo, head up on the seat and he said, "Dani, Dani, Dani, we need to stop." He tossed back another tiny bottle of something brown and warm. "This isn't good for either of us, but I can't help myself when you are around."

They had started out on the seat but something about it just wasn't right, and Dani didn't have the patience to try and figure out how to make it work. There were more important things to do than work out geometry problems and she dragged him to the floorboards, where there was enough space for her to move without risking bumping her head on the ceiling. And she took advantage of that space.

"Dani, Dani, Dani, we need to stop. This isn't good for either of us, but I can't help myself when you are around."

Danielle rested against him and let out a small laugh at his words, her cheek resting against his chest. Her jeans were gone, tossed haphazardly on the seat, but she still had her shirt on, for the most part. The buttons were all undone and it was pulled off of one shoulder, like he'd been trying to get it off her but got caught up in other things. Which was pretty much correct.

She raised herself up somewhat, moving slowly as her limbs still felt a bit heavy and tingly, and snatched the bottle from him, tossing back the other half. "Neither is this," she pointed out, dangling the bottle in front of him. "But who really gives a fuck, anyway?"

"Neither is this," she pointed out, dangling the bottle in front of him. "But who really gives a fuck, anyway?"

"I do," Alex said, "I do, because I am trying to do the right thing here, by you, by me." He put his hand to his head and wondered where the hell his glove went. He vaguely remembered pulling it off to touch her and her tossing it somewhere. He didn't need the suit as much as he once did, his control something he worked on harder than anything he had ever worked on in his entire life. But he still... wanted the suit, like a security blanket maybe. She raised up and he took the opportunity to push himself back up into a sitting position. He felt logey, exhausted and drained a little, and he realized his power levels were low. He hadn't exploded or used them in anyway other than the slow leakage that his suit helped to regulate, but he hadn't recharged them properly. First the bachelor party, then this morning...

He hit the button for the sun roof, and let sunlight, weak and wintery but sunlight nonetheless, flood in and he winced at the sudden brightness. He sat, still on the floor of the limo, in the pool of sunlight, face tilted up. "I don't know what I'm doing, Dani," he said, softly, "I know you don't love me. You know I don't love you. But when we get together, it's... simple. We have what each other needs for a few minutes and when we are done, at least the emptiness is gone for awhile." He took another of the little bottles and downed it in one gulp. "My brother is about to marry the woman he's loved for half his life. I want to find that, but I don't want to... does that make any sense?" He put his arm around her and pulled her close, "I want to be happy. You make me happy for a while, but we both know this can't keep on like this, right? Am I overthinking too much? It's a Summers trait."
