When: Late Morning Place in the Timeline: January3rd The million dollar question wasn't whether this was the right idea, or was this the right decision. It wasn't if the school was going to be able to help her achieve what she had come here for, it was, were her half sister and foster brother going to kill her when they found out? Skye hadn't told either Mana or John that she was going to be attending now. It wasn't because she wasn't close to either of them. Just the opposite in fact, she didn't consider them half or foster, they were her brother and sister. As close in blood as her full siblings. So there was a chance, a good one, that she might just be getting yelled at when they found out she was here. Skye Cavanagh, or Swann as she preferred, a nickname given to her by a dear close friend due to her grace in dance, slid out of the backseat of the cab that had brought her here from the airport. She pulled a backpack and 2 duffel bags from the trunk with the driver's help and set them on the ground. "Miss, do you need help getting these to the front door?" he asked, his voice thick with an unknown accent. "No, thank you..My brother and sister attend here," Skye replied lightly as she pulled her cell phone out of her pants pocket. Clad in a pair of black leather pants and a black body hugging dance top, her middriff bare and thin, strapped kitten heels adorning her feet, she knew that the cabbie was checking her out, but this was not the time or the place for anything like that...and he was so not her type it was scary. She flipped open the phone and scrolled through her address book till she got to the name John. Hitting Dial, she waited during the ringing and when an accented voice spoke, she answered. "Hellooo Big Brother..." |

Place in the Timeline: The morning after the revelations & decisions on the roof with Alix. NB: Phone Conversation JP between Pyro & Swann. “I’m so tired,” Pyro said, to no one in particular, eyes watching to see if anyone in the Day Room had actually heard him, or, would give him any sort of reaction. Really, he was after some sympathy and, honestly, it wasn‘t exactly his fault he’d been up throughout the night thinking about the decision he’d made on the roof after Alix’s revelation that she’d already joined X-Factor. He was going to join, just, he didn’t want to seem as if he was turning his back on everyone at Xavier’s. What would Scott, Jean, Warren, what would any of them think if he chose to ally himself with Havok and the rest of the newly forming team? ~Ya think too much Pyro,~ he thought, realizing it was one of the disadvantages, or advantages depending on which way one looked at it, of being a writer. Too much going on in his head at the one time. ~I’m gonna do it, if I don’t, it means Alix and me still are not going to see each other as often as I’d like. If we’re on the same team…” he continued to weigh all the options, until, ~And what tha heck is Mana gonna think?~ came to his mind, just moments before his mobile phone started to ring. “Yeah, what?” he asked, realizing he may have sounded a little stressed. "Hellooo Big Brother..." and, the stress just flew straight out one of the large day room bay windows. “Crap!” he simply said, then smiled. “Perfect timing Skye, just going on one of those downtime tangents. Ya know, the ones that make your emotions go all over the place, and NOT in a good way?” "Yeah yeah...been there and done that," came the voice on the other end. "Where are you right now?" He frowned a little. “Ah, in the day room at Xavier’s, why?” he asked, his curiosity once again peeked, simply by the tone of his little sister’s voice. "Listen… I sent something for you and Mana to the school... it’s out at the front gates right now. The delivery guy can't get in unless you sign for it... can you head out and get it?" Skye asked, leaning against the side of the taxi, her back to the gates. “How the heck can you possibly know it’s arrived now? What, did someone ring you or something?” the fire bug was clearly confused. “Alright, I’m comin,” he soon added, picking up his jacket and slipping it on as he headed out of the day room, across the foyer and through the front door. “Geeze Skye, it’s freezing!” he said, having a go at her, yet, grinning at the same time. "Yes, the delivery guy called me to let me know it was being delivered and then said he needed a sig, so I said I’d call you and get your butt down there," she said, an arm folded under her chest as the other hand held the phone to her ear. "It is not that cold you big baby… suck it up and be a man...I hang around men in tights all day...and they don’t complain this much." “I’m telling you now, I am never wearing tights!” he confirmed, quick strides bringing him down the driveway, able to see the delivery… “Wait a minute, that’s a taxi, not a delivery van. Skye, are you having me on?” he asked, annoyance now clearly written all over his face, yet, surprise not present with it in the slightest. "Really?" she asked, barely holding a snorting laugh back. "Maybe the taxi is the delivery guy. I swear… it’s right there... will you just go out the gate and look please?" she asked. "The bloody thing cost me enough..." there was no answer, because he had already reached the gate, and was now staring at the very person supposedly talking to him from the Dance School in Delaware. “See, I so knew you were having me on, it’s not a package at all!’ he exclaimed, mouth smiling and now half hidden behind a flame throwing clad hand. |

Skye heard his voice much closer and she closed the phone, her lips curling up into a smile as she turned. "Surprise?" Blue green eyes sparkled with just a hint of mischievousness and she flicked dark crimson hair off her shoulders. It had been nearly 3 years since she had seen John, and it was safe to say that little Skye had grown up. Always slender and lithe as a result of her intense dance training, the young woman had grown into more womanly curves and it appeared that she was not afraid to show them either. Life had been good to her. Sliding the phone back into her pocket, though one might question just how she managed to fit anything into them as they fit nicely along her hips and backside, Skye rested her hands on said hips for a moment. "You just gonna stand there with your mouth open... close it or you'll get flies," she told him. "You might also offer to carry a lady's bags... after all, we don't want me getting hurt now do we? It could really hurt my dance career," the haughty tone to her voice was pure teasing, and he should easily be able to tell. "And don't you DARE tell Mana... I wanna surprise her. So stop thinking... stop it... stop... St. John..I mean it....stop that!" Skye pointed a finger at him as she advanced towards him, her heels crunching in the gravel. |

"Surprise?" surprise that she was there at Xavier’s, or that she looked so very different? Cos, really, either of those could be the answer. The decision to send her away to dance school had been more than the right one, it seemed. Although, it hadn’t done much to take the brat out of her, as this rather cheeky way of announcing her arrival had proven. "You just gonna stand there with your mouth open... close it or you'll get flies," John just stared at her, his reaction to her next comment about carrying her bags a simple, “Yeah right, Skye, like ya aren’t capable of carrying your own bags.” He did open the gate however, knowing full well his little sister’s presence would have already been scanned and filed within the security system. Seeing her advance on him, he threw up his arms, grinning. “Mind closed, alright, not that I could’ve stopped any initial feeling of surprise reaching her!“ demanding he keep her arrival from Mana, really, she was asking too much of him this time, but, he’d do it, just to see the shocked look written all over their older sister’s face. "And,” he paused for emphasis, suspecting that she already knew what was coming, “don’t call me St John,” there was affection in the tone, but warning too. He hated the title before his name, and always would. “Why are ya here anyway, aside from the fact you haven’t bothered to visit either of us in, oh, I don’t know, years?!” he teased, the smirk palpable. He was wondering what could have possibly pulled her away from her most treasured dance classes. In fact, now he was getting worried, was something wrong? Really, that could be the only reason, right? Although they were siblings, and they were close, they could be closer, because Skye was known for putting her dancing before anything else, even family. “Spill, Skye, and don’t lie to me either,” he said, the gate closing behind them as they started walking up the driveway. And yes, John was helping her carry her bags… |

"I'm perfectly capable of carrying my own stuff, but what's the use of having a big brother if I can't get him to carry a few measly bags?" Skye asked, turning her full lips into an absolutely irresistible pout. The pout only lasted a moment however when he said that he had shut up mind to Mana. That was going to be an absolute gas to surprise her. "And I can and will call you anything I so wish..what are you gonna do?" She asked him, raising an eyebrow at the tone in his voice. "Cause I know you aren't gonna do anything about it." Her backpack shifted as she began to follow him up the driveway towards the school itself. "I saw Mana a few months ago thank you...you just weren't around at the time and I was only here for a few hours anyway so there." She said, sticking her tongue out at him playfully. "So...you are wondering what made me actually leave my school and come here with you guys?" She asked, and knowing that she was right. Oh lord...where to begin on that one? Skye sighed, stopping in her tracks. "I don't suppose you could wait till we find Mana to talk about that?" She asked. "Didn't think so." She muttered, looking up at him. "Ok..Obviously I'm a mutant..we know that. You know I can heal like Mana can..well I need to get better..a lot better..and fast. I have someone, someone I am very close to..not like that, and he's sick. Like dying sick..and right now, I am all that stands between him and death." Skye looked down at the ground for a moment. biting her full lower lip. "I don't have any other options. It's time to think of someone other then myself for once." |

"I can and will call you anything I so wish..what are you gonna do? Cause I know you aren't gonna do anything about it," darn it, she had him there. They may not have seen each other for a few years now, still, she was Mana’s little half sister, his foster sister via her, yet, he loved her like a blood relative, so, he’d never follow through with any threats. It was all done in good fun, even when she chose to tease him about something he absolutely hated! The St in front of his name reminded him about how his real parents had been religious zealots. Even at the age of four he’d known something was seriously wrong with punishing a kid for not following through with and believing in things he was just too young to grasp. Preach love, then beat him if he did something wrong… it was no wonder he would always see Nicky, his foster Mom, as the only true parent he’d ever had. Eyeing her, he frowned a little. Wait until they found Mana to tell her why she was there, fair enough, she probably didn’t want to have to repeat herself. Yet, Pyro felt there was a lot more to this sudden choice to come to the mansion, and, the explanation that followed more than verified that. The thing about sharing a Telempathic bond with someone was that he could hear the words, and feel every single emotion that went along with them. By the time Swann finished speaking, John had already put down her bags, and moved over to place a hand on her shoulder. “Man, I’m sorry Skye. Did this just recently happen, cos, seriously, ya know we’re here for you,” John ’s understanding ran deep, even though he’d never ever be able to relate to the emotions a healer felt when they had all the power in the world, yet, still, their were limitations to what exactly they could heal. “Come on, Mana’s in the kitchen organizing some lunch. Let’s go make her day, huh?’ he said, giving the redhead a hug. Picking up her bags, he led her the last few meters up the driveway, through the front door, and on into the mansion, the kitchen not too far away, and, the closer they got, the bigger his grin grew. This was going to be awesome! Mana was totally going to freak! |

Skye was quiet after she finished speaking, walking up the gravel driveway with her foster brother. Her hand found his gently when he touched her shoulder, his words bringing just the faintest smile to her lips. "I know you are and I know that Mana will be there as well. It's just...it's hard. I've never had to deal with something like this. Not like you guys have. My whole life is dance..dance, my friends and my family. Now to come up on something like this, that I can't control. I don't know how to handle it," she told him, glancing over at him as they walked towards the main steps to the front opening. "I'm Scared John." The girl admitted quietly. "I'm absolutely terrified that I'm gonna lose my best friend, He had been part of my life for so long. I really don't know what will happen if I can't learn enough here to help him. It would be like losing you or Mana you know?" she asked him, looking up at the massive building in front of them. "Ok... so... scare Mana... then you and I are gonna sit down and you are gonna intro me to some of the better looking guys around here," she said, flashing him a grin that both of them knew really well, one that he could not resist under any circumstances.
