The sun was going high in the sky today, young Liam wasn't very used to the American weather but knew pretty well he was going to have to get used to it, with a large bag thrown over one shoulder he made his way towards the entrance of the school, a responsible father would more then likely have accompanied their child to this place on the first day, to speak with the principal or whomever was in charge for introductions sake if nothing else, but the Irish youth had no such expectation from his dad, how could he have hoped that "Madlocks" would have taken time off being high as a kite with his bandmates or something to the sort to do something like this with someone as unimportant as his son.

Still Liam had stopped being bothered by things like this quite some time ago, although he still realised his fathers blunders. His eyes gazed over the trees behind the gates, so this was his new home, it wasn't too bad, wasn't too bad at all. Even if anyone knew anything about could tell just by looking that he wasn't looking forward to this, the large metal wacking device strapped over his other shoulder was sign that his confidence wasn't at a high point.

Not knowing what else to do he placed a finger against the buzzer to the intercom. "Hello...?" Time for a new little chapter in the book that was The life of Liam Linton-Davis.

Scott was in his office, not working on his wedding plans for awhile, because frankly, he was exhausted from all that. The wedding was just over a week away. Everything had to be ready, by now. It was too late for it not to be. So, remembering that there was more to life than tuxedo fittings and honeymoon reservations, though he much preferred what came with that latter. He found himself daydreaming, instead of doing his work, though, which was very unlike him. He reached out through his rapport and found that Jean was daydreaming and her thoughts had filtered through to him. He sent her a mental kiss and shook his head, fondly.

Honestly, he couldn't wait for this all to be over. As much as he wanted Jean to be his bride, he was more looking forward to having her as his wife. There was a difference, she understood it, knowing how the disruption of the wedding was something he was tolerating for her sake, and his undying love for her. But he would have been content with a small civil ceremony. What was important was what came after... and not just the honeymoon.

The buzz of the intercom cut through his idle thoughts, and he frowned. Clicking his computer over to the video feed routed from the security camera. A tall, thin young man with a duffle over one shoulder. A student then?

He keyed the intercom on his desk and said, "Hello, I'm Scott Summers, one of the professors here. Come up to the front door and I'll meet you there. You'll know me by my cane."

Opening the gates by the remote code, he made his way out to the front porch, grabbing his coat against the cold. Liam would find him waiting by the time he arrived. A tall, stern looking man, thirty years old, his eyes hidden behind scarlet hued sunglasses. He was leaning on a heavy glass cane, a brace locked around his knee. "Welcome to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, how can I help you?"

"Hello, I'm Scott Summers, one of the professors here. Come up to the front door and I'll meet you there. You'll know me by my cane." Liam waited a moment until the response came and when it did he listened carefully, he always hated asking people to repeat things when he didn't hear what they said. The gate opened and he made his way in, now looking at the trees along either side him. He brushed away imaginary dust or something from his outfit, a nice black pants, a white shirt and a black jacket, having every intention to wear something suitable when he first met the faculty.

When Liam reached the front door, he found, whom he certainly expected to be "Scott Summers" he had the cane he had been told about which was evidence enough for Liam to know he could address this person as Scott and not be wrong.

"Welcome to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, how can I help you?"

"My name is Liam Linton-Davis." he replied, his voice had a thick Irish accent. "My father's having me enrolled here, he rang the school about it a little while back." There was a terrible knotting in his stomach, knowing his dad he was as likely to ring a fastfood place and say he was enrolling his son there, the last thing Liam wanted now was there to be some kind of mix up or something, his sword would have been the size of a sky scraper.

"My name is Liam Linton-Davis." he replied, his voice had a thick Irish accent. "My father's having me enrolled here, he rang the school about it a little while back."

Scott shook the boy's hand and said, "Excellent, wonderful news, Mr. Linton-Davis. Come inside out of this cold, and I'll look you up in our database. I wasn't told of your arrival but I've been a little swamped lately, I'm afraid." He lead the boy inside, pausing to hang his coat on the rack by the door. "You can leave your things here if you like, until we get your enrollment all taken care of. I'd offer to carry it for you but, well, as you can see, my balance isn't what it used to be." He tapped his cane on the mat to make sure there was no snow on it before heading down the hall.

His comments about his handicap aside, there was nothing crippled about Scott Summers as he led the young irishman to his office. He spoke with the air of a man used to giving orders and having them obeyed, but not in a demanding sort of way, more like, he expected them followed because they were the right way to do things, that's all. An aura of confidence that Scott had perfected that appearance, as the leader of his team, though, he so often questioned it. Only Jean possibly knew the depths of Scott's self doubts, since none of them show through, especially not on a first meeting.

Never one to mince words, Scott, as they headed in his uneven gait to his office, turned his head to the boy, studying him through his scarlet gaze, and said, "If your father enrolled you here, I am certain you both understood what sort of school this is. You're here because you have a special ability, correct? Tell me about it. Tell me about yourself."

"Excellent, wonderful news, Mr. Linton-Davis. Come inside out of this cold, and I'll look you up in our database. I wasn't told of your arrival but I've been a little swamped lately, I'm afraid."

Liam stepped inside when Mr. Summers beckoned him to do so, he was always delighted to see snow, it was something you never really saw in the south end of Ireland, so it was always a treat to see some when he was abroad, but that didn't mean he was unhappy to be getting away from the cold aspect of it all.

"You can leave your things here if you like, until we get your enrollment all taken care of. I'd offer to carry it for you but, well, as you can see, my balance isn't what it used to be."

"Ah thank you." he replied as he gently dropped the bag to the floor, he had carried heavier things in his life but it still heavy enough to put a little ache to his shoulder after carrying it too long. Although it was all forgotten when he started following the gentleman with the cane to his office, there was a certain worry in his gut, well a larger sense of worry then a moment ago, the last thing he needed was to be stuck in America with his plans all mixed up because daddy deariest was an idiot, still he should have rang up himself and made sure, no point in blaming others.

"If your father enrolled you here, I am certain you both understood what sort of school this is. You're here because you have a special ability, correct? Tell me about it. Tell me about yourself."

Liam gave a nod at first, a moment later he brought attention to the weapon at his back. It floated from where it was and started hovering on the spot infront of the Irish youth.

"Just to clear up any confusion, I don't have telekinesis, and I don't just own a sword and think its a power, I...made this sword, but not like a blacksmith makes a sword, it just...started existing when I was thirteen or fourteen. It changes size, I can control it mentally like this, althought its easier to use my hands to direct it, more reliable anyway. I can make it break to pieces and re-build and things like that. Don't ask me the science behind it because to be honest I have no clue." He let out a little sigh after explaining that and after taking a breath he continued.

"About me in general, well I'm eighteen, from Cork in Ireland, my family is pretty well off, my dads in a band, my mom passed away a few years ago. I have three younger siblings, two sisters and a brother, I usually take care them because rockstar dads aren't the best to be perfectly honest. I took up kendo after this sword appeared, so can use it well pretty well at this point and before kendo I started into a type of karate after some pricks beat me up and stole my bike...anything else?" He asked as a hand went to the back of his head and he rubbed at his hair, one of those little things people do when they just need to do something to break personal tension or worry.
