When: April 3rd. Where: Dangerr room. The danger room was the perfect place to train but also to vent frustrations. Synch was full of them recently since that mission to Mutant Town. Synch seemed to have developed attitude since the mission and the following meeting. Everything he seemed to do end in upsetting someone or pissing them off. Synch found himself not wanting anyone’s company but his own. Still he made the occasional snide remark but they were turning cruel. Synch didn’t have any friends to speak of Quicksilver’s attack had made that abundantly clear so like any outcast Synch focused on the things he could control. This very thing had led him to the danger room on more than one occasion. Synch had changed into a t-shirt and sweats and was now stretching in preparation to begin his training and frustration venting. Since acquiring the powers of Titan and Quicksilver he’d slowly grown more accustom to them even if he still left large holes in things or zipped in to walls from time to time. For the most part Synch had gathered a knowledge and skill of the basics of these new powers. The more detailed skills still eluded him but Synch was confident that he could hold his own in a fight. Now he was just waiting for one of those people who had threatened him. Synch had decided to accept Jayson’s offer of a challenge more than anything he wanted to prove that he was capable as anyone here. |

Stone Touch / Super Strength
|
Place in time line: A week after State of the School Address and two weeks after Brimstone It was about a week after the mandatory school meeting. Jayson still didn't care either way about the curfews and the new squads. For now neither affected her. If they did she would still had been complacent only because they were common sense. There was no need for the over dramatics that happened when the announcement was first made. Except for the young children, everyone looked like chickens with there heads cut off. The children had a right to be scared. It was the events happening during the weeks since that unnerved the stone-turner. Even her time going on the Internet was splattered with mutant hate. To think she had to change her home page just because every top news story had to do with 'the mutant problem'. Whether it was mutants being targeted or doctors trying to explain this mutant phenomenons she just couldn't take it. Let alone it seemed hackers were having a field day hacking into major sites and trashing them with propaganda. Not only that her family was being affected. They were all the way in California, across the country for goodness sakes, so why were they calling her with their problems. Jayson was informed that she may not be able to return home. Her mutant status was known by the small town in which she lived. Stupid law makers had to just make her life even more difficult. 'It was for the safety of the town,' they had said. Well hello, there was a known mutant that called that town home. How could it ever be safe? To even make matters worse, three days later her Aunt Lynn calls her again. "They're gone," she stated. "Just gone like when you-." It couldn't be finished. Her step-aunt couldn't even finish the sentence. By the way she was going about it made it seemed her step-family had cared that their step-niece (or whatever she was to them) had up and disappeared one night by the ocean. Like they would understand her powers first emerging if she couldn't grasp not being able to touch anyone again without the fear of turning them to stone. Urg, it was just so... so... Why in the heck would her favorite step-cousins leave home? Where were the twins? Where were Elyse and Elysia? And if the icing on the cake couldn't be any sweeter? Dreams of the last mission were causing sleepless nights. Lucky for her Violey had yet to return from the hospital. If she had she would most likely have seen her best friend waking up with a sudden gasp because another nightmare began to replay. They were all the same. Mutant town soaked in blood with corpses of mutants underfoot of the sentinels. Like heck they were there to protect them. Those metal giants let the ones they were to save die. Always, just before her eyes flutter open, a voice would be heard. "I told you many times. We ask for peace and they answer with hate," would be said in a voice sounding like her friend without the thick French accent. In sadness, the voice brought comfort and yet anger. Violey had called once out of the two weeks since she had been in the hospital. Once! And it was only to say that she was going to be calling again. The gull of her!? So when the offered challenge of basketball to Synch turned into a DR session Jayson was inwardly thrilled. Lately her strength wasn't in control. Once more she was breaking dish ware. So gaining a chance of regaining control mixed with the possibility of making a guy cry; the stone-turner was barely holding in her excitement. She pounded into the Danger Room with as much grace as anyone ready for a good fight. The red head was in her full uniform. Noticing Synch stretching a smile appeared on her lips. "I see even the famous Everett Thomas has to prepare before a match." This was going to be fun. |

Synch finished limbering up and stretching then looked at Jayson with a raised eyebrow. He couldn’t help the smile from spreading across his lips at her comment but her garb was something little unnerving. Synch had arrived in sweats and Jayson seemed prepared for an all out war. Now rolling his slim shoulders Everett walked over to Jayson to talk without raised voices. “What can I say the secrets of my success were vigilance and preparation?” “You look like you’re ready to kick my ass all around the danger room. It’s a pity that this isn’t a combat scenario.” Everett said with a snide grin. He walked into a side panel upon the wall and pressed a series of buttons initiating the holographic systems. A haze fell over the large empty space of the danger room. The transparent haze took on a blue hue then began to shine like a digital outline of an urban jungle. After several seconds the illusion coalesced into a grey dull cityscape that appeared like city ruins and were so familiar. It was indeed a full city block New York City. It appeared to have been devastated by some natural disaster or a war. “I found this when I was mooching around on the system a few days ago.” Synch said as he continued pressing buttons on the console. “Right here’s the plan. In this broken down urban jungle are several pieces of a puzzle.” Synch pointed to a small monitor next to the console which displayed a topographical view of the battle ground. “It 5 different points within this map are pieces of a puzzle. That puzzle is a key that opens the door to the tower located in the centre. Once the puzzle completed and the door is open a life will take the winner to the top of the tower where a flag stands. Whoever waves that flag is the winner.” As Synch spoke small lights appeared indicating 5 different points around the broken world and indicating the single tower at the center. “Now here is the fun part. At 2 points there is only 1 piece of the puzzle so only one person can complete the key and reach the top of the tower.” Synch was barely aware of Jayson’s mutant power but she was surely unaware of his two acquired abilities. “Oh before I forget. There are hidden dangers within the city from random explosions and human’s attacking us with a variety of weapons. So given these random risks and to make things interesting a limitation has been implemented. We can only use our powers to fight or counter any certain danger that presents itself but nothing more. We can move around the city in any artificial means you can find or on foot.” Little did they know that this danger room session also had another hidden secret? That at the top of the tower a guardian stood vigil over the flag that would end the session. It was not required to defeat the big boss at the end but getting past him would be most difficult. |

"And here I thought that you got by on natural born talent," Jayson shrugged. Yes she had heard of the Everett Thomas. However, his being a mutant was kinda of a surprise. Seeing him the first time while passing through the halls of the mansion had left her wondering if who she was seeing was actually there. Sadly, it was the surprise of someone 'famos' and not the fact she was a fan that made her begin to wonder. "Wait until I tell the three of my step-cousins who are your biggest fans that I attend the same school as you." Yes, she had arrived in her full uniform but the stone-turner thought it was nesseary. You see, this was a DR session. She viewed them as serious. So why not arrive if you were about to start a war? It only made sense, right? “You look like you’re ready to kick my ass all around the danger room. It’s a pity that this isn’t a combat scenario.” Everett said with a snide grin. Matching Everett's grin with a half-smirk of her own Jayson said, "Geez I truly was hoping I'll be able to. Oh, I'll survive, I think." So there went her hopes of actually trying to beat the poor dude. Even so she was ready for anything. And when the city-scape of New York appeared she smiled. The city environment was way too over done. Quietly she listened to Synch's instructions. Jayson didn't really understand Synch's abilities. They were basically unknown. Over the last week she did see this particular teen and his training yet still she found it confusing. What could he actually do? Did he know her powers? From the rumors that spead worse than wildfire he would have at least her of another girl who couldn't be touched, besides Rogue that is. Would he match her face with those powers before it was too late? "The idea is to collect the pieces of the puzzle to form a key?" the stone turner asked. "Since there are pieces sis means that'd we'll have to either battle for them or do some team work to get to the top of the tower. Sounds easy enough but is attacking each other included in the allowed use of our powers. If so, are there inhibitors in place to stop said use of attacking powers," she asked with a shrug. This was going to be an interesting DR session. Who knew an offer of basketball was going to turn into something like this? "When do we start?" Jayson asked crossing her arms in front of her. ~Let the fun begin,~ she thought. |

“A friendly rivalry and confrontation could be interesting. Yes we can use powers during any encounter between us since victory and survival is the goal here.” Synch said as he finished stretching out his muscles. This danger room session was apparently something dangerous. Synch found this environment in the database and of course it held different levels of resistance and difficulty. Synch was physically fit and in the frame of mind to put up one hell of a fight but Jayson was an unknown factor too him. He’d done his research upon her and found some disturbing information about her powers. It was something to do with physical contact and transmutation whatever that meant. Synch’s only chance was to beat her to each key fragment. “You can use your powers to defeat the DR obstacles and threats. You can even confront me with them but getting around is down to your own legs or whatever you can find around the room.” Synch turned and surveyed the ruined city before him. “Ready when you are.” Suddenly echoes of explosions roared though out the city and the room seemed to vibrate and shake as each detonation flashed in the distance. ~Ok I can do this. ~ He repeated over and over to himself. This was the first time that Everett had participated in a training session that was so lively and active. A red light flashed twice then turned green indicating the training scenario had finally begun. Synch took off at a quick paced run deep into the deserted city streets completely forgetting about his opponent for the time being. |
